TEFL course

I recently completed my TEFL course with TEFL Nomad, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The course is extremely well-structured, clear, and engaging, making even the more technical aspects of teaching English easy to understand. The modules are broken down into manageable sections, with plenty of examples and practical tips that gave me real confidence in how to apply what I'd learned.

What I particularly appreciated was the balance between theory and practice. The grammar and methodology sections were thorough but never overwhelming, and the lesson planning guidance was incredibly useful for preparing to teach real classes.

The online platform was smooth and user-friendly, and I could study at my own pace without ever feeling rushed. It's also very reassuring to know that the qualification is fully accredited and internationally recognised.

Overall, TEFL Nomad exceeded my expectations. It gave me the skills, knowledge, and confidence to start teaching English abroad or online, and I feel fully prepared to take the next step in my teaching journey. I'd highly recommend this course to anyone considering TEFL-it's a fantastic investment in your future.

Pros
  • Easy to complete at your own pace
Cons
  • No live interaction with instructors

Very Good Course

This course is very informative and provides all kinds of tips and advice on how to approach teaching English. It is both organised and descriptive and I think very valuable for people looking to teach abroad.

However, I do think that both the material and associated examples could be more interactive rather than being presented as massive walls of text and simple PowerPoint presentations. While I did enjoy a lot of the content being discussed, there were times when it felt overly descriptive or repetitive and I began to skim through the text in order to move on to the next topic.

Overall a very useful and worthwhile course.

Great Course

This is a great course. They go into deep detail regarding what to expect and strategies that are helpful to teaching. It was enlightening to see things in the course that I had not previously considered. I would say that one should think of it less as a certificate to start employment, but more of a survival guide to get you through all aspects of the teaching journey. It was also cool how they provided examples of materials that you could be using, and the little helpful videos from people who have had experience teaching English themselves.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don't rush through it. Take time and consider the lessons

Great Course

I found this course to be very detailed with great organisation. It followed a clear scaffold and utilised many of the teaching techniques it was teaching, which was a nice touch to really embed them. The podcasts were interesting and it was nice to break up the reading with some audio of real teaching experience. The resources were really helpful to illustrate examples of what to use in class, and what to look out for when finding or creating classroom materials. The 'Reflections' in some lessons were nice, to keep the course engaging and personal, and the regular assessments were perfect for consolidating knowledge. I'm feeling as prepared as I can be for starting my teaching journey!

Very clear and concise course

I enjoyed learning from this course as it provided me with plenty of information in a very clear and concise way. I have taken away plenty of materials to start teaching straight away from this. It is also well balanced with textual and audiovisual aids, which help retain the information. I also liked how each module has an end-of-unit test, which chunks the learning. Furthermore, the course outlined different ways to teach all age groups as well, and also touched on how to teach English online.

Highly Recommend!

I recently completed the TEFL Nomad 120-hour online course, and it exceeded my expectations. The course is well-structured, clear, and easy to follow at your own pace. The modules cover everything from lesson planning and grammar to teaching methodology and classroom management. I particularly appreciated the practical examples and activities, which made the theory easy to apply.

The support from instructors was excellent—they were prompt and helpful whenever I had questions. By the end of the course, I felt confident in my ability to teach English online or in a classroom setting. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to formalize your teaching skills, this course is a fantastic starting point.

Good Introduction to Teaching

This course offers a good introduction to teaching L2 for learners. The course focuses on young learners more but would also be valuable for teachers who aim to teach other ages (7+). I especially enjoyed the podcast episodes as they kept me engaged and were fun anecdotes to listen to from James. I also really liked the section on classroom management and different types of seating possibilities. I had not considered these before.

I do, however, feel that some of the information was a bit outdated, especially when it comes to the "Teaching Online" and "Technology" sections, but this could differ country by country. Some of the materials could also be condensed slightly as there appeared to be a lot of repetition at times. I also thought that sometimes the language used was not appropriate, for example, calling students lazy without acknowledging possible learning disabilities and differences was unfortunate. I think there should be a section focusing on these as a lot of inexperienced teachers (or people coming from other fields) might not take this option into consideration.

Furthermore, sometimes the quizzes were worded in a very confusing manner, so it required extra focus and thought when answering questions, although this might be a tactic to keep course takers more focused. Sometimes, I struggled answering questions that seemed easy at first hand.

Overall, I did, however, enjoy the course. It was informative and well structured, and gave me a good insight on teaching abroad and working with different types of learners.

TEFL Review

I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I signed up for this TEFL course, but it turned out to be way more practical and engaging than I thought it would be. The lessons are super clear and easy to follow, and I loved how they used real examples from classrooms rather than just theory. It also made me feel a lot more confident about standing in front of a class. Overall, it felt professional but not intimidating, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone my age who wants to travel and teach English.
