Excellent Course

This course was really just fantastic. I felt supported from start to finish, at no point did I feel lost of confused. It really showed how much thought and care they had put into what could be very daunting for someone. I now feel so, incredibly confident going forward with the rest of my life abroad, this is truly something special. The course was a good length as well, not really feeling like I was repeating things and making sure I felt I had covered just about everything that could come up

Thanks!

Great TEFL Course

Would recommend this TEFL course. I am traveling to teach in Thailand and I had the pleasure of this course, thank you for the educational experience, I really very much look forward to utilizing my newly gained teaching English as a foreign language skills in Thailand. My favorite part of the course was when we learned about English and how to teach it in an interesting and engaging manner, it really was very engaging and I learned a lot. Truly. Thank you so much, TEFL!

Vietnam TEFL Course

This course has helped me greatly in becoming more confident about teaching children overseas with an exceptionally straightforward and easily navigable page. The delivery of the topics was well thought out and, although some were hard, made the experience more enjoyable. I found that the engagement aspect of the course may have needed a little bit of work due to times when I found myself becoming distracted and demotivated, especially after a very content-heavy module. Regardless, I will be coming back to this course to help with any roadblocks I may face while teaching abroad!

Good, all things considered

This course does a good job synthesising what would ideally demand far greater detail. The most relevant topics are rightly given the most thorough treatment and vise versa. However, those with little understanding of the technical components of the English language will have to supplement this course with other materials. On the other hand, throughout this course are scattered enlightening practical points which can only have 1st hand experience as their source. Thus, this program is much less academic than it is a practical guide to teaching English abroad.

What would you improve about this program?
Assessments must be far more stringent. The form in which questions are asked is far too repetitive, the correct answers frequently requiring deduction alone. 10-12 questions per module is wholly insufficient as a sincere test of knowledge. Though this course deserves at least 120 hours of study, the assessments could be passed with a fraction of that amount.
Pros
  • Provides practical tips regarding the unforeseen challenges of EFL teachers
  • Good overview of grammar
Cons
  • Assessments are far too easy

TEFL Nomad

After recently completing TEFL Nomad, I found that each module has its own value and places great importance on the craft of teaching. To further elaborate on this, I found that there are many aspects to teaching English that I previously was not aware of; for example, class seating arrangements and adapting to different cultures are an important factor when teaching in a different country. I believe that the information provided around how to lesson plan and how students should be treated have given me an opportunity to teach students to the best of my ability.

What would you improve about this program?
I would recommend more information to be provided on what to do if things go wrong. For example, if one particular student was struggling to make progress on learning English compared to other students; how can I help them progress through methods of isolation perhaps.
Pros
  • Fun
  • Engaging
  • Attention to detail
Cons
  • Repetitive
  • Easy form of assessment
  • Not enough audio/video content

Amazing course!

This course was very enjoyable for me and I would definitely recommend this to others who are looking to become a TEFL teacher. The course goes through 11 modules, which are all structured extremely well - making it very easy to take in the information. The tests at the end of each module also contribute to the quality of this course as it helps to revise what has been taught. I also found the podcasts and example worksheets/ teaching materials throughout the course very useful!
I have done this course in preparation for teaching in Thailand and after completing it I feel confident in becoming a TEFL teacher.

Pros
  • Wide range of content

Amazing Course

This program was incredibly helpful and provided all the necessary training I needed to start my teaching journey. The structure of the course is very engaging and easy to navigate. Many of the sections, particularly those on classroom management and lesson planning, were very helpful and well set out. Many of the sections were quite challenging, such as those on grammar, however, the course was brilliant in explaining these tricky aspects in a well-thought-out way. Overall this course was fantastic and I would highly recommend it.

Great Program For People Interested in Teaching English Abroad

This program is great for those who want to teach English abroad. The website is easy to navigate and has valuable examples for your class. It offers a variety of training to those interested in teaching adults, teens, younger learners, and more. I also like that they add quizzes at the end to help you memorize what you learned from the module. I enjoy watching the videos from James as well, hearing his perspective and advice on things is so helpful especially if this is your first time teaching abroad. Thank you for the opportunity :)
