Easy to follow and very comprehensive

I thoroughly recommend this programme. Whilst the content is challenging in places, it follows a logical route which is thoroughly comprehensive. The end of module tests are a great addition to test what you have learnt and the podcasts are helpful and friendly! Whilst this is online, the addition of podcasts makes it feel more personal and provides insights which otherwise would be lost. Whilst a time commitment, being able to progress at your own pace is very helpful, and alleviates any feelings of burden! All interesting content and so so enjoyable!

Would recommend!

A well thought out and well structured course. Provided clear insight into experience with the podcasts, and gave lots of clear and engaging examples that can be adapted to real world teaching. All explanations were clear and concise to understand. The end of unit tests were also a great tool in testing my understanding of learning. It was also a clear course to navigate and modules were organised into manageable chunks that u could go through at my own pace. I shall definitely be carrying on these methods and concepts into my own teaching

Great Course

A very well structured and interesting course. I found the information quite valuable, especially with the use of presentations as well as examples. The topics are well organized and have a nice flow to it which makes it easy to follow. I found that the tips given to us by the course that include teaching strategies and classroom management will be extremely useful in the future. The course also includes material on grammar which is useful as a revision. The course was really enjoyable and I feel better prepared to teach English as a second language!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Take your time to go through this program, bit by bit, as it is quite informative and helpful.
Pros
  • Easy to follow.
  • Broken down into 11 sections.
  • Visual aid and examples were useful.
Cons
  • Some sections are slightly too long.
  • Maybe some grammar exercises would be useful.
  • You only get to do the quizes once.

TEFL Nomad Review

First off this course was a great refresher, even as someone who grew up speaking English as my first language I found a few things quite useful. I appreciated the touch up on a multitude of grammar lessons that while I understand from a speaking and day to day perspective, isn't always as straight forward from a teaching perspective.

Also as someone who has taught at different levels before, there were simple reminders like to make Kahoots (if the school allows for) or other fun activities to best engage the students. All in all it was a helpful course for someone going to teach abroad soon.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Getting through the grueling grammar sections, there was nothing much to it than focusing with full attention to get it out of the way.
Pros
  • Insight to teaching structure again
  • Relearning the baseline of English grammar
Cons
  • Tedious in certain sections

TEFL Nomad

The course was straightforward to use and user-friendly. I enjoy working and learning with examples therefore the examples provided by the course were very helpful to understand the course material. Overall it was an interesting experience and not even a day went by where I thought the course was boring or dragging. It was a lot of information but the way the course spreads the information and lessons is very easy to follow along. I also think that the videos were helpful too and found the whole learning experience wonderful.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
This program is very informational and teaches you valuable lessons that you can actually use on a daily basis.
Pros
  • Examples are very helpful
  • Videos are fun to follow along and learn

120 Hour Advanced TEFL Course

Great course to participate in. Easy to use and very worth while. This course is definitely tailored to those who want to teach English as a second language and even gave great insight to what is to be expected when doing so. I learned so much about teaching English as a second language and I loved the examples given. It was very useful to have the example worksheet/powerpoints/lesson plans to know exactly what should be expected during teaching. The podcasts were very informative and easy to listen to as a quick break.

My Time with TEFL Nomad

The course was an excellent overview and walkthrough of a broad range of teaching aspects. This course was delivered through a number of mediums such as text, audio and images. This enabled the course to stay engaging throughout. Furthermore, the ease at which I could leave the work to do something else and then come back to it without having to worry about saving my progress was a real bonus and enabled me to complete the course while working full time. This made it a very accessible experience which was key to allowing me to pursue this program.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Travelling in unfamiliar places. I overcame this by thoroughly researching how to get around and utilising ye olde google maps.
Pros
  • Life changing
  • Incredible experience
  • Excellent CV material
Cons
  • I am a stressful traveller
  • The money you earn might be great in the country, but quickly runs out in other countries.

Good course

Good course with really good genuine advice that I will carry with me to my teaching career and even beyond! There was a podcast, a section on motivation, learner types and advice on classroom management which was very useful.

In addition, there was also a section on Grammar which was useful and some really good teaching theories. I also really appreciated the lesson plan ideas which I hope will be useful in future lesson. In general, very enjoyable and informative course that I do recommend.
