I found the TEFL Nomad online TEFL provided a good solid base and background for teaching and classroom management. It was great that it was online and easy to access not only on laptop but also on my phone, whenever I had a spare few mins it was super useful to get my phone out and read some modules. I really liked the example teaching materials they were great to see the real world link to what the text was talking about. I felt James and his podcasts sections were appropriate and popped up when necessary. It was good to have a mix of audio, text and visuals to learn from. Of course a lot more is needed to be a successful teacher, but this was a good solid base to work from.

I am due to start teaching in China in August, and when I started this journey, one of my biggest issues was my own belief that I would be able to teach a class effectively.

But after completing TEFL's 120 hr online course, I feel much more confident in my ability. The course covers important criteria such as cultural adaptability, class preparation, discipline, and managing instruction for older and younger learners. James's podcast sessions also offered a great personal account of the learning experience. Overall, I am so happy with the direction of this course and I feel ready more than ever to start my teaching journey!

Very thorough programme that provides lots of knowledge, information and tips for teaching English as an additional language. In particular I found the cultural topics very interesting and informative as someone who is about to teach in Thailand this was particularly useful to be aware of! The end of unit tests were a good way of checking understanding. It was amazing that progress was saved and you could do the course at your own pace and take breaks as it very content heavy! Overall it has provided very good insight and support for my upcoming teaching experience.

This is a really well-structured and engaging course. The podcasts are great and offer an insight into real-life experiences as a EFL teacher. The topics are well organised and instructive with lots of helpful tips and information. Although some parts (particularly the grammar sections) are difficult, they are explained well and effectively. Sections that focus on classroom management are also extremely useful and I will no doubt carry these tips forward into my teaching experience. I have really enjoyed doing this course!

I had a really positive experience completing the TEFL Nomad course. The lessons were clear, well structured, and easy to follow, even while balancing other commitments. I especially appreciated how practical the course was, with real classroom examples, lesson ideas, and teaching tips that felt genuinely useful rather than overly theoretical. The support throughout the course was encouraging and reassuring, which really helped build my confidence as a new teacher. Overall, it prepared me well and made the idea of teaching abroad feel exciting and achievable. I would highly recommend TEFL Nomad to anyone considering a TEFL qualification.

This course was extremely in depth and covered literally everything. I was taken back by how much information was provided and i found it easy to understand. Whenever i was stuck on any questions i went back to my flash cards (recommended by this program) and it helped tremendously. I never managed to go abroad sadly but with my TEFL I have major hope and reassurance that if i do wish to work abroad teaching english that will be a possibility for me. I feel more confident in what and how to teach as well.

This course is really well‑designed and engaging. Each topic is clearly organised, and broken down into manageable chunks. I particularly found the practical advice about teaching enjoyable, including lesson planning and classroom management. It made me really excited to get going. I did however, find the podcast segments to be an unwelcome interruption that often slowed me down.

Included is also practical advice about finding work and important things to ask any potential employers, which is very helpful as a first teacher.

Overall, this is a great course that has equipped me with the tools I need.

This is my first time doing this course and it was so much fun and really informative and interesting. I didn’t know there was so much behind the English language as a native speaker so learning all the ins and outs on how to teach it as a second language so fun. I would recommend all types of travellers to do this course as it’s a fun and easy way to learn and provides a great gateway into teaching abroad whether that’s just so you can travel or the start of a career. It’s a great stepping stone.
