120 Hour Advanced TEFL Course with TEFL Nomad

I have finished my Master of Education, so the information given was often repetition for me, thus I did not really feel like I learned many new things per se, but given my past experiences and uni degrees that is to be expected. It did still fulfill its job of giving a basic overview of the many important aspects of teaching in a foreign country and some helpful materials and lots of interesting game/method ideas. Especially for people moving to live abroad & teaching for the first time, this course does hold many relevant aspects to learn.

This course is an excellent, thoroughly designed, and well-structured program that provides a comprehensive understanding of teaching English as a foreign language, particularly for younger learners. Its design reflects careful consideration of both theoretical principles and practical applications, ensuring that participants leave with actionable knowledge they can implement in the classroom.

One of the course’s standout qualities is its emphasis on thoroughness. Every critical aspect of language teaching is addressed, including grammar, vocabulary (lexis), speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The material does not stop at surface-level instruction; it delves deeply into strategies for teaching these skills effectively, such as scaffolding, language recycling, and integrating all four language skills. This depth ensures participants understand not only what to teach but how to teach it in engaging, meaningful ways.

The course’s structure is another key strength. It organizes learning into clear sections, progressively building participants' knowledge and skills. Starting with foundational principles, such as understanding the differences between younger and older learners and exploring affective factors like attitudes and motivation, the course gradually moves to more specific topics, such as lesson planning, material development, and classroom management. I recently completed the 120 Hour Online TEFL Course, and it was a fantastic experience. The course was well-structured, covering essential topics like lesson planning, grammar, and classroom management. The mix of engaging materials (particularly the podcasts) and clear explanations made challenging concepts easy to understand. The flexibility to study at my own pace was perfect, and the support team provided helpful feedback throughout. I feel well-prepared to begin my TEFL journey and teach English across the globe!

I found the course very well laid out and explained everything in a concise and clear manner would recommend 1000%. Further, the course allowed me to work at my own pace and take in the knowledge and a rate I could keep up with. Moreover, the end-of-module assessments allowed me to understand standards and see where my knowledge was concrete and what I needed to improve. I would recommend the course to anyone who is looking to earn their TEFL certificate quickly and efficiently and be provided with worksheets that can be used in the classroom.

This course was really just fantastic. I felt supported from start to finish, at no point did I feel lost of confused. It really showed how much thought and care they had put into what could be very daunting for someone. I now feel so, incredibly confident going forward with the rest of my life abroad, this is truly something special. The course was a good length as well, not really feeling like I was repeating things and making sure I felt I had covered just about everything that could come up

Would recommend this TEFL course. I am traveling to teach in Thailand and I had the pleasure of this course, thank you for the educational experience, I really very much look forward to utilizing my newly gained teaching English as a foreign language skills in Thailand. My favorite part of the course was when we learned about English and how to teach it in an interesting and engaging manner, it really was very engaging and I learned a lot. Truly. This course has helped me greatly in becoming more confident about teaching children overseas with an exceptionally straightforward and easily navigable page. The delivery of the topics was well thought out and, although some were hard, made the experience more enjoyable. I found that the engagement aspect of the course may have needed a little bit of work due to times when I found myself becoming distracted and demotivated, especially after a very content-heavy module. Regardless, I will be coming back to this course to help with any roadblocks I may face while teaching abroad!

This course does a good job synthesising what would ideally demand far greater detail. The most relevant topics are rightly given the most thorough treatment and vise versa. However, those with little understanding of the technical components of the English language will have to supplement this course with other materials. On the other hand, throughout this course are scattered enlightening practical points which can only have 1st hand experience as their source. Thus, this program is much less academic than it is a practical guide to teaching English abroad.
