Highly recommended

I am really happy with the course. The teacher is really well-prepared to teach foreigners. She speaks great English which helps me and Michael learn quicker. Teacher 叶老师 revises each lesson very carefully and places great emphasis on the correct pronunciation. I really appreciate the fact that she teaches us Chinese characters as this is very important for my work. It’s also noteworthy 叶老师 adapts to the student and doesn’t just stick to the book. I also feel the course is great value for money.

Global Village review

Very good school in Beijing. Friendly teacher and efficient. I took the HSK 5 class! I will take the class for 5 months and take HSK, I feel my skills have improved a lot!!

The Li laoshi is very kind!. She is teaching HSK 5 according to the curriculum📝, and she always adds some cultural aspects and knowledge about China, and she also recommends some good food and discusses several topics.

Plus, this school also has free coffee and tea, and study space!

Foreigner friendly !!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Global Village center review

If you’re looking to learn Chinese in an immersive and supportive environment, the Global Village school is an excellent choice. This center provides top-notch language instruction with a focus on both practical communication skills and cultural understanding. The teachers are highly qualified, approachable, and passionate about sharing the Chinese language with students of all levels.

What sets the Global Village school apart is its personalized approach to teaching. They offer a range of classes, from beginner to advanced, ensuring that every student can find a program that suits their needs. The small class sizes allow for more one-on-one attention, which helps students progress faster and more confidently.

Additionally, the center emphasizes real-world application, so you’re not just memorizing vocabulary – you’re learning how to use it in daily conversations. The immersive experience, combined with cultural events and social activities, makes learning Chinese engaging and fun.

Whether you’re looking to improve your career prospects, travel, or simply challenge yourself with a new language, I highly recommend the Global Village school for learning Chinese. It’s a great investment in both language skills and cultural enrichment

Excellent School for Learners at Any Level

I started studying HSK5 level at Global Village School taking 1-to-1 classes morning and afternoon 3 days a week. The quality of the teaching is very high, with both my teachers also being very adaptable to both my level and my learning goals. The school is very helpful in organising a lesson plan with you that is tailored to your objectives. For example, I wanted to improve my speaking as well as study HSK content, so they suggested that I divide my classes between higher-level speaking and the HSK curriculum. This worked very well for me. The school have also been gracious in giving occasional extra classes as a reward for completing a certain number of class hours. They also offer mock HSK tests whether you are preparing for a real test or just curious about your level. At the competitive prices they offer this school is certainly the best option in the area for those who are looking to make quick progress with learning Mandarin. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the teachers are first rate.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would have started earlier!
Pros
  • Value for money
  • Accommodating and flexible
  • Friendly

My experience in global village school

Since the first day I was welcomed with my friends. The teachers in the school are amazing. I’ve nothing to say other than wish more foreign students have the same experience as me.

During my time in high school I had it really good moments, but my best moments that I’ve experienced are in a particular class during my senior year, in Sacramento, Calif. So I was basically a new student in these kind of classes and also I’m English learner. I remember my first presentation in this class. I didn’t want to do it, but finally I did it and that one was my best moment. When I went to present I felt afraid, and then when I presented I felt so good for the effort I applied on. Now I feel so much better than my first day of presentations because I now know that I can do whatever I want to do. The learnings that I acquire made it so good this moment because I know that I have to trust on me. Something teachers or students can learn from my experience is that we have to overcome our fears and not let them control ourselves because we can’t know our capabilities if we are afraid.

GVS Learning

I am a PhD student at Tsinghua University, I am taking oral language courses at Global Village School, I am from Pakistan, I have been living in Beijing for 5 years, this school is very close to every university, and it is also very close to the subway station.

Speaking of Ms. Liu, who taught me Chinese, she was a good conversationalist. We became friends very quickly. We even went to bars and restaurants together on some weekends. Our Chinese class is always full of laughter because I am a joker myself, we also learned a lot of local words and popular words on the Internet, which makes me feel that every class is very rewarding. Although I know there are many activities in this school, such as making dumplings and cutting paper, I like studying here very much.

Chinese learn trip

At first, I didn't know where the Global Village School was, but a friend told me he studied here, near Peking University or something. Still, I don't have much time to take classes during the day, so I chose online, my level is probably elementary I think, and I want to improve my spoken level, I feel that the class here is very pragmatic, and my teacher, Miss Wang, She knows my native language (Japanese), so she can always find my mistakes in learning, but she doesn't speak Japanese to much in class, to make me more focused on Chinese, you know, the feeling that she is guiding your learning process. All in all, it was awesome.

Sometimes I take part in some school activities and make a lot of friends. I highly recommend you to study here if you want to lay a good foundation for your Chinese.

Intensive Program at Global Village School

I had an intensive language program at the Global Village School for 4 weeks to improve my Chinese. Although my language skills was difficult to grade as an heritage student (speaking and listening advanced, reading and writing low to intermediate), the staff was very helpful to find classes that suit me best. All the teachers (several small groups, 1 to 1) were excellent. Due to the small size of the groups (3-6 people) the lessons were very interactive. I asked them a lot of questions and they were very comitted to answer all of them. I met a lot of good people (also good for sozializing) and had a good time. As they offer online courses, you could also continue classes when you‘re back at home or travelling to other places. At least, I intend to do that.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Not one thing.
Pros
  • Excellent teachers
  • Small groups and 1 to 1
  • Live and online
Cons
  • Wish I had even more time there
  • The building is rather old, but the facilities good

Highly Recommend!

Learning at this school has been fun and I am making fast progress. Teachers are very professional and the school is very organized. The school is flexible and they can personalize the content and the logistics to suit my needs. This is great as I am more motivated to learn because the content is relevant and meaningful to what I want to learn and the school is flexible if I need a small change such as when I have a business trip and I have to adjust the class times due to travel. I highly recommend it!
