Great programs

Had the greatest time at John Cabot. The professors were knowledgeable and helpful and the classes were interesting. The housing situation wasn’t great. I lived in the Trastevere Apartments which were really far from campus and had maintenance issues. Other than that it was great the campus is in a great location and has great evening life. I would recommend this program! Looking forward to returning as a visitor and staying in touch with all of my new connections at John Cabot University!!

Had some much fun!

I had so much fun getting to study abroad at JCU! The professors were all very kind and helpful. There was a lot of cool classes to choose from, especially in the Art History Department. I got to take classes where I explored Rome and learned so much. Everyone here at JCU was so welcoming and I made so many new friends. I was able to learn a lot about Italy. The housing isn't amazing, but there are lots of choices for housing and I was traveling almost every weekend anyways. I learned so much while I was here and I'm thankful I chose JCU for my semester abroad!

Unforgettable Experience

John Cabot is a great school if you want to travel while studying abroad!! Even if you don’t, there is so much to do in Rome in general. The location of John Cabot is perfect for rome, you are walking distance from everything and I felt very safe. It is so lively in Trastevere, and the housing is pretty good. The academics are also pretty good and I loved all my professors. They did a good job at orientation too. I was so nervous coming, but they helped calm my nerves. There are also so many extracurriculars! I am so glad I came here!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
If you’re scared, just do it! I was so nervous at first, but the orientation process toured me around rome and the school, and I met so many new people!

Amazing

I am having a wonderful and enriching experience at this Institution! I am enjoying my time playing a sport at this institution (volleyball) and I am extremely grateful to have broadened my range of friends. I now have friends from all over the world including Italy, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and different states in America. I am excited to go home and recommend this experience to all of my friends! When I get home I will also tell my family all about my experiences living abroad and I will share all the things I have learned.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
My emersión in the language.
Pros
  • Living in Italy full time.
Cons
  • Living half way across the world from my family.

Study Abroad

John Cabot University is a fantastic place to get an college education. The staff and faculty are hard working people, and the campus is always clean and organized. The food in the cafeteria is often very good and the students can be some very nice people. The housing is also hard to beat because of the close distance to class buildings and functioning amenities. I'm glad I chose John Cabot University for my study abroad experience. I would recommend this school for anyone who wishes to have a top notch American education in Italy

My lovely experience

I was not supposed to come to Rome but I am enjoying every single thing about it. I am very happy of the major I decided to study, I am enjoying all the classes I chose even though it is my very first semester. I am making so many friends and I am enjoying all the funny things that the university suggests from the sports to the meetings or clubs. It is amazing how a new community is being built up and it is wonderful that these are the years of our lives. I am already sad that it is just three years!

Best experience ever

During my first two years in this university I’ve always felt supported and welcomed. The faculty is amazing and the offices help you out with everything!
The community created is wonderful and mixed and you will never feel excluded. People from all ove the world will expand your horizons and help you develop new skills. Clubs and extracurricular activities are always available: theatre, computer labs, photography and many other more! Some clubs at jcu help also the community around us by cleaning the environment and helping people less fortunate.

Fun times abroad!

It was awesome how flexible my schedule here was. I was able to travel to so many places. Not having classes on Fridays was a game changer. I also learned so many new things. I became very comfortable traveling. I tried many new things! Learning Italian was awesome. I will say that my Spanish class was significantly harder than the class I took before it in the US. My living conditions were not ideal as our bathroom had many issues. Other than that, I am thankful for how close my apartment is to everything.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Dunk in Barcelona!
Pros
  • Trying new things
  • Meeting new people
  • Learning Italian
Cons
  • Expenses of traveling
  • Make up Fridays
  • The shower at my apartment

Loved JCU

I absolutely loved studying for the semester at John Cabot University. The community was very welcoming and made us students studying here for the semester feel very accepted and supported in the larger university community. The housing, classes, & environment were all fantastic & I hope to visit again soon. The campus is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect spot in Rome. Trastevere feels a bit removed from the city center but has all the same Italian aspects and is so full of beauty, joy, & authenticity.
