I want to thank Omeida Chinese Academy Language School in Yangshuo, for the great opportunity to study there. In my opinion, Omeida is the perfect place to learn Mandarin. They have excellent personnel, excellent teachers, and a perfect environment to learn and study. Personally, I recommend anyone who is interested in learning Mandarin to come to Omedia.

Omeida also offers the opportunity to have a language partner. I had the privilege of having the best language partner, Jerry. He took his time and made sure I understood all the assignments and was always available if I had any questions.

Being at Omeida Chinese Academy, learning Mandarin, has been the best academic experience of my life! Omeida offers a fantastic blend of effective language learning and the most amazing cultural experience. Not only did they instruct you in the language, but the school trips also guided you through historic places, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the culture.

Aprender chino es un reto para cualquier amante de los idiomas, y como estudiante internacional, pasé un mes increíble en Omeida. Disfruté mucho el intercambio cultural con estudiantes de distintos países, el profesionalismo de los maestros y la atención amable y siempre alegre del staff.

Destaco especialmente a mi maestra, cuya dedicación, entusiasmo, paciencia, claridad al explicar, empatía y actitud positiva hicieron que cada clase fuera inspiradora. Este curso me permitió conocer personas maravillosas, acercarme más a la fascinante cultura china y renovar mi motivación por seguir aprendiendo el idioma.

Learning Chinese is a challenge for any language lover, and as an international student, I spent an incredible month at Omeida. I thoroughly enjoyed the cultural exchange with students from different countries, the professionalism of the teachers, and the friendly and always cheerful staff.

I especially want to thank my teacher, whose dedication, enthusiasm, patience, clarity of explanation, empathy, and positive attitude made every class inspiring. This course allowed me to meet wonderful people, gain a deeper understanding of the fascinating Chinese culture, and renew my motivation to continue learning the language.

There's no better way to learn Chinese and immerse yourself in the culture than with the incredible team at Omeida.

Our daughter of 7 spent a week with Omeida. She happened to be the youngest in the particular group she was in. Our daughter had been learning Chinese for 3 years. Since my wife and I do not speak Mandarin, we chose this program for a more immersive experience. We were very glad to see the Chineses activities were not only in the classroom, but also out on the streets, parks, and markets. One activity our daughter did was to ask in Chinese strangers do perform a task with them -- like take a picture or jump in the air. It was a very fun and engaging way to speak Chinese to native speakers.

The staff were very attentive to her. For example, they make sure she had an umbrella and was covered when it rained, they carried the heavier items for her when needed, and looked out for her needs. The staff also created an environment conducive to kindness among campers. For example, during the cave exploration activity, despite having overalls on, our daughter was a bit short and water would have gotten wet. The campers carried her where the water level was high to keep her dry.

Our daughter had been asking to return again next year for a full two week program. We are making plans to do that!

I came back to Omeida and it was really great! I loved my teacher and made great progress! I can only recommend it to others. I had individual lessons and found them very effective. Of course, it's more expensive than group lessons, but I think it's worth it. The effectiveness of the group lessons depends not only on the teacher, but also on the other students. I can also recommend the HSK course.

You can also go hiking and jogging here. The accommodation I had was simple but sufficient. The food is good in the neighborhood and you can also be a vegetarian or vegan here.

Omeida School is well organized. The teachers (1 had two; each for every week) are well-trained. My lessons were varied. Not only speaking and the Pinyin taught. I could learn some characters and special things about Chinese culture and life. In addition, there were many offers for leisure activities nearly every day.

Yangsuo is very small. In my opinion, you do not need a taxi. When you want to go discover the surroundings, it is comfortable to catch a Didi. But the environments are a dream. You do not see big buildings, much traffic, or any crowds.

The accommodation is simple, but it is enough. And you can eat in the canteen. For my two weeks (definitely too short) I can recommend Omeida. The people are friendly and warmly.

I was at Omeida for 8 weeks with 15 lessons per week. Choosing three lessons per day allowed me to have a lot of free time for rock climbing, hiking, or whatever I wanted to do, while still learning Chinese. Also, the school provides an amazing, welcoming atmosphere. I made many new friends, we went for lots of fun activities, and when I wanted to boost my Chinese studies the school's staff supported me as well. The combination with the English school enables language partnerships with Chinese people learning English. This allows the practice of language skills with Chinese, while making new friends and having interesting cultural exchanges.

I will keep my time at Omeida in great memory.

I volunteered at Omeida for six weeks as a digital marketer… What can I say?

A wonderful school, an amazing team, and a beautiful city! I truly felt at home. I enjoyed every moment in Yangshuo and learned so many new things. The warm welcome, continuous support, and even the VIP dorms—everything was just excellent. I’m already planning to go back, but this time for a longer stay.

Notes:
- Bring stomach medicines from your country (hahaha).
- Be ready for humid weather.
- Bring an umbrella.

This was my second time coming to study at Omeida, and I had a wonderful experience again. I had daily private classes, which were tailored to my specific needs and were exactly what I needed (focus on conversation). Thanks to my teacher and the rest of the school staff, I could delve deeper into Chinese culture and life in China. The school atmosphere is uplifting and inspiring, it’s a joyful place to be in. The accomodation the school provided was new, modern and clean. They helped me set up the scooter, gym membership, etc. There’s plenty of yummy and cheap food options around. You can completely immerse yourself in the language, which is harder in the big main Chinese cities. I have no complaints, and I can’t wait to come back!!!

Terrific teachers, staff, accommodation, and overall experience! Omeida is more than just a language school - it's a vibrant, supportive community that truly cares about your progress. The teachers are not only skilled and professional but also incredibly friendly and patient, making it easy to ask questions and stay motivated. The staff go out of their way to help with anything you need, both in and outside the classroom. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located just minutes from the school. I also really appreciated the cultural activities and language partner program, which gave me daily opportunities to practice Chinese in real-life situations. The setting in Yangshuo, surrounded by breathtaking karst mountains, made the experience even more memorable. I'll definitely be back!

The month I spent in Yangshuo and as a student at Omeida will forever stay in my heart. I can really say that I lived one of the most healing, self-caring and fun times of my life so far. It was amazing to realize that I am not the only language nerd who will happily spend time doing Chinese class homework and enjoy it. The staff at Omeida, the teachers and the students make the place as magical as it is, a picturesque dream. The staff is so lovely, thank you Lucy for all the great weekend activities and being our helpful good fairy for any possible questions, thank you Rachel for guiding me so well from the registration to the visa and the arrival, thank you to Anya for organizing so many extracurricular student group trips! Thank you Echo laoshi, you were an amazing teacher with a rich toolbox of methods.. you kept us engaged, curious and even adjusted your teaching to the different levels of individual students. I am grateful that I chose to do this experience and can even confidently say that my Chinese improved quite a lot! :) If you're looking to escape your daily routine at home, your job or just want to mix language learning, meeting new friends and exploring the beautiful nature around Yangshuo, this is the right choice for sure!
