Great Internship Experience!

I had an incredible 10 week internship in Taiwan thanks to the Asia Internship Program! They provided me with so much support from sourcing companies that aligned with what I was looking for and giving additional support when I was in Taiwan. They also responded to all my emails and messages quickly and promptly which helped me ease any concerns I had. The whole process was relatively stress-free. The overseas experience was truly invaluable and I recommend anyone looking for an overseas internship to give AIP a try!

Great Experience in South Korea

I had a great experience in Seoul these past few months thanks to AIP. I interned for five months at a marketing company right outside of Seoul, South Korea. I had a great supervisor and I got to work on so many cool projects and videos, collaborating with other teams in the company as well. My language skills improved a lot and made unforgettable connections with my Korean coworkers as well. I will miss the food and the people dearly, thank you Herlyn and Kate so much for this amazing opportunity!

Lifechanging Experience

I had the incredible opportunity to intern at a private equity firm based in Bangkok, Thailand, and I can confidently say it was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had to date. During the internship, I was exposed to real-world investment processes—from deal sourcing and market research to financial modeling. I gained hands-on experience analyzing companies across various sectors, with a particular focus on emerging markets in Southeast Asia. Working in Bangkok added an extra layer of richness to the experience. The city is dynamic, culturally vibrant, and great for young people explore, grow, and meet new people. Being able to engage with the regional market while living in such an energetic city was truly a unique advantage. I would highly recommend this internship to anyone interested in emerging markets and cultural exposure.

Summer Internship in Japan!

I had an excellent experience with AIP for my summer internship in Tokyo, Japan. The team was present and helpful throughout every step of the process, from the interviewing and placement stage, to pre-arrival materials and preparation, and finally any assistance that I required while being here in the country. They helped me solve any problems I faced and were constantly supportive. I would recommend AIP to anyone looking to complete an internship experience overseas, it was truly fantastic and allowed me to gain valuable professional insights.

Excellent placement, excellent host!

I was assigned to work with AIP after my internship plans fell through. Within a few weeks they had my first interview lined up, and within 2 months, I was placed with my company. I was challenged both academically and personally (adjusting to the cultural differences) at my new company and was able to grow significantly thanks to that experience. The company that I worked with has set the bar very high for what to expect in the labor market. The accommodation AIP arranged was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Thank you!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Nothing! It was a great learning experience!

Awesome Trip to Bangkok

Made my internship in Thailand so incredibly seamless! I love that I did not have to sacrifice a semester of instruction, and AIP allowed me to have a summer abroad experience! Loved it, and 100% recommend the service to students interested in enriching living/working abroad experiences!

The AIP staff guided me through the internship selection process, visa application, located my housing, and more, to make it the most pain-free onboarding. I especially loved that their support did not end once I arrived in Bangkok. In fact, there were my first point of contact when I wanted to know about fun events, restaurant recommendations, etc.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I rode on the Grab motorbikes, which from the United States where these vehicles are less abundant, it was scary to be going as fast as a car on a bike. But, I started by going short distances into longer 20-30 minutes rides and it really helped me become more comfortable with it.
Pros
  • included housing
  • easy access to AIP staff

Great experience in Seoul

I was so happy with my internship experience that I decided to extend my programme for other 6 months! I'm deeply satisfied with my job, I wanted to try something different and more creative than what I was doing in Italy and I feel that I've found my place. My teamleader and my colleague are really nice and supportive and they have always made me feel welcomed and part of the company.

I'm really thankful to AIP as well because they have always supported me a lot not only at the beginning when searching for a hosting company but even for all the 6 months that I've spent in Seoul. Luckily everything went smoothly, but when I needed their help they were quick in finding a solution to my problem. Moreover, they kept cheking on me periodically. Highly recommended!

I think that an internship abroad is a great opportunity of growth, both professional and personal. During this experience I was lucky to find a lot of new great friends with whom sharing amazing memories and discovering new places. Seoul is definitely full of fun activities to do, it has a special spot in my heart!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
For those who are in doubt if trying this experience or not because they're shy like me, I definitely suggest to apply! It was a great opportunity to go outside my comfort zone at my pace and to meet such amazing new friends. Plus, it allows you to find out if the job you're doing in your internship really fits you.

Easiest way to get an intern overseas

AIP helped me secure a 10-week internship in Taiwan, which was an amazing experience from sourcing companies based on our expertise to managing interviews and guiding us in the job application process. They really eased the load of having to source jobs overseas. It was an amazing experience! The support they provided throughout—from pre-departure preparation to checking in during the internship—made me feel well taken care of. I gained real-world experience, met new people, and learned so much about working in a different culture. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and would recommend AIP to anyone looking to intern abroad with confidence and ease.
