I’m glad I decided to go on this overseas internship, even though it was my first time living abroad. Beyond gaining valuable work experience, I managed to explore the city on my own and experience things I had never had before. While there were struggles and moments of homesickness, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything and I’d choose to do it all over again.

If you’re unsure whether or not to take up an overseas internship, just go for it. I gained so much more than work experience. I learned to be independent, overcame communication barriers and found ways to enjoy the journey even in the face of challenges.

I am thankful that my school had collaborated with AIP! I took the chance to try an overseas summer internship in Bangkok and it was truly amazing. I interned in a company that has a really amazing mission of connecting people with the overlooked historical and cultural parts of Bangkok, while supporting local communities, which all syncs with my interests. I learnt a lot from them. Do check out the Roots Routes' tours and support local! All of these would not have been possible without the help of AIP and their team. Nisha and Kate has been really accommodating, always checking up on me, and replying to any questions fast too. I had an opportunity to meet and talk to the the CEO of AIP too. I could really tell that he is passionate about helping people find internships, to seek opportunities in this big world and develop experiences regardless of where they are at in their career. It's been such a great journey doing this internship with AIP and the Roots Routes. Recommend!

As this was my first time both traveling and doing an internship abroad, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience — and AIP was an incredible support system throughout the entire journey!

At first, the process of securing an international internship felt intimidating and overwhelming. Especially as a freshmen in college. But from the very beginning, AIP made everything feel simple and manageable.

I want to give a huge thank you to Herlyn, who guided me every step of the way. She was always available to answer my questions, kept me informed, and made sure I felt confident throughout the process. Even after I arrived in Korea, Herlyn continued to check in on me and ensured I was settling in comfortably. I even got the chance to meet her in person, and she was just as kind and helpful as she had been virtually.

Thanks to AIP this entire experience has been smooth, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. I’m so grateful for their support in making this internship abroad such a positive and unforgettable adventure~

My internship experience with AIP was everything I hoped for—and more! I had a very specific goal in mind: a 2-month marketing internship in Taiwan. AIP not only delivered exactly what I was looking for, but also made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. The application process was clear and well-structured, and the support I received along the way, from pre-departure guidance to on-the-ground check-ins, made me feel confident and prepared every step of the way.

The internship placement itself was a great fit, and I was able to grow both personally and professionally while gaining hands-on experience in an international work environment. I also had the chance to explore an amazing new culture and meet people from around the world. If you're thinking about doing an internship abroad, especially in Asia, I can't recommend AIP enough. Their team truly goes above and beyond to help you succeed.

My experience with the Asia Internship Program had many high points, particularly through the company I was matched with. I was placed in a company that aligned with my interests and allowed me to grow through hands-on work in a supportive and communicative team. The location was convenient, and I felt genuinely cared for during my time there.

AIP provided some strong support, specifically through their on-the-ground community team, who was responsive and helpful. Their platform was easy to navigate, and they found comfortable housing, which made the transition smoother. The availability of 24/7 support provided some peace of mind during the transition abroad.

That said, for me, a challenge was pre-departure communication. At times, I felt I had to chase information just to stay on track, and it wasn’t always clear what stage I was in or what was expected of me. Having a lack of information that ensured security created unnecessary stress before the internship began.

During the internship, I would have appreciated more consistent community engagement, such as biweekly events or cultural outings to help interns connect with each other and their host country. While events were occasionally mentioned, there weren’t consistent opportunities organized for interns to connect, and much of the social interaction had to be self-organized.

To AIP’s credit, I did feel they genuinely cared about my experience and responded when feedback was given. With clearer communication and more structured community-building, AIP could greatly enhance an already valuable program.

I had an incredible experience thanks to Asia Internship Program! With their support, I was able to secure a rewarding internship in Japan that perfectly matched my academic background and personal interests.

From the beginning, the process was clear and well-organized, which made everything much less stressful. The AIP team – especially Kate and Herlyn – were extremely helpful, professional, and friendly throughout the entire journey.

They always made sure I was informed and confident at every stage, and even after I arrived in Japan, they kept in touch to make sure everything was going smoothly. I really appreciated how involved and caring they were even after the placement was done – it shows how committed they are to the full experience.

Living and working in Japan has been a huge step forward for me, both professionally and personally, and I couldn’t have done it without AIP’s help.

Getting AIP to help me find this internship was the best decision I could have made. It was super easy and they helped me with everything! Nisha set up my Interview and was present throughout the whole process up until my departure to South Korea! After arriving Kate and Herlyn helped me settle in comfortably and answered all my questions from there. They would support me and also gave recommendations on what to do during my freetime (If you haven't planned anything). I felt very comfortable and I wasn't alone during the process! :))

Herlyn, Daisie, Nisha, and Tyler helped me during my program and constantly supported me. I was also helped by Ted, who was able to connect me with the best internship ever. I had an incredible time in Seoul and was given true freedom to explore while learning about the corporate culture of Korea. My friends and I could enjoy everything in Seoul together, and we could share different experiences from our internships, which made it all the more fun. We were also to learn so much about the culture and language it was incredible.
