I had a great time in Seoul

I loved my experience in Korea! I enjoyed my internship so so much, my company was so welcoming and kind to me for the whole duration of my internship. I received strong guidance and clear instructions, which was very good as a person who had no experience in the field I was working in. Being exposed to a different culture really taught me a lot and I’m so glad that I pushed myself to do this experience. My accommodation was in a great spot and I was close to everything that I would ever need to be close to.

Such an Amazing Experience

Great time in South Korea! Many thanks to AIP for making this possible. My simple idea of spending a few weeks abroad to gain experience became one of my most rewarding personal and professional experiences.

Before arriving, I was nervous about the work culture: Was it too intense? If I didn't know enough Korean? What if I struggled to adjust? However, South Korea immediately welcomed me with excitement, challenge, and inspiration that pushed me to grow in unexpected ways.

This journey revolved around the internship. I got to work in a fast-paced, creative, and efficient environment. Every day was new, from working with teammates from different cultures to taking on tasks I thought were too advanced for an intern. This hands-on learning is unattainable in a classroom. I learned to communicate clearly, adapt quickly, manage deadlines, and bring new ideas to the table while working with passionate people.

Naturally, living in Korea was exciting. Every day was a mix of discovery and routine, whether it was grabbing an iced long black on the way to work, finding hidden cafés in side streets, exploring palaces, or spontaneously stopping at a late-night feed with the girls. I saw how culture shapes community, work, and daily life, from the pace of the city to the kindness of strangers who helped even if we didn't speak the same language.

Challenges arose. Living in a new country, understanding culture, and managing work expectations challenged me. They were some of the most valuable moments. I learned resilience, independence, and open-mindedness from them. I learned to ask questions, adapt without losing myself, and feel comfortable in unfamiliar situations.

My thanks to AIP for the support, guidance, and structure that made this experience possible and enjoyable. They ensured I had everything I needed to succeed abroad from planning to on-ground check-ins. A caring team makes a big difference when you're halfway around the world, and I felt supported every step of the way.

This South Korean internship was a time of growth, exploration, and clarity about my career path. I'm more confident, inspired, and motivated than ever arriving home. I'll never forget this and am grateful to everyone who made it possible.

My Seoul, My Soul

My internship in South Korea through AIP was genuinely unforgettable.
From the very beginning, the AIP team made the whole process smooth by staying in touch, offering guidance, and making sure I always knew what to expect. I also loved that they arranged meetups and activities that allowed us to explore Korea beyond just our workplace. The program was thoughtfully structured and gave me the chance to grow both professionally and personally.

During my time in Korea, I was able to learn so much about the culture and enjoy many great moments with my company and colleagues. It’s an experience I truly appreciate.

I’d definitely recommend AIP to anyone looking to gain real international work experience in a supportive environment.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-racking moment for me was when I accidentally bumped into an elderly person. Even though I apologized right away, they still raised their voice at me. I felt shocked and embarrassed, but I stayed calm, apologized again politely, and stepped aside to give them space.

After that incident, I became much more careful—I always try to keep a safe distance and pay extra attention when walking behind someone, especially in crowded areas. It taught me to stay aware of my surroundings and handle unexpected situations with patience and respect.
Pros
  • Opportunities to explore South Korea through meetups and activities.
  • Friendly colleagues and a positive working environment.
  • Gained valuable cultural experience and learned to adapt in a new country.
Cons
  • The T-money balance doesn’t match the amount of money I added.
  • The trips (Hanbok day) organized by AIP felt very unstructured.
  • Some moments could be stressful, such as misunderstandings in crowded places.

the fast paced city of Hong Kong :)

It was interesting to be here in Hong Kong. Being nervous, excited, and learning a lot of new things in a beautiful place like Hong Kong is something everyone should try! I really recommend it :) you’ll have the perfect mix of a work life balance in Asia.

Of course next to working you’ll have a very easy access to to travel around in China which is a beautiful country as well. You can try the nice food of Hong Kong have a nice walk through the beautiful hikes Hong Kong has. Maybe go to the harbour, nightlife… a lot of things are available to do. Of course I also want to talk about the AIP program itself. They really help you shape the perfect internship for you with the requirements you’ll have for them. They are very flexible in the options you have and they help you choose the destination and the corresponding company. Also during the internship they ask you to share anything you want, so you feel comfy all the time :)

Amazing Internship Experience in Japan

AiP helped me find and secure my internship in Japan at Kenja K.K. in Tokyo, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, the team guided me through each step preparing my application, organizing interviews, and even giving advice about living in Japan. Once I arrived, everything went smoothly, and I quickly settled into my new role as a Business Analyst intern. Working at Kenja has been an incredible opportunity to learn about Japanese business culture, improve my professional skills, and meet great people. I’m really thankful to AiP for making this whole experience possible and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to grow professionally while discovering Japan.

Fantastic learning opportunity

I’m really grateful to AIP for giving me the unique opportunity to work in an industry I’ve always been interested in. During my time here, I’ve massively improved my hands-on technical skills and relevant software proficiency. It’s been an incredibly valuable experience and a great environment for growth.

The office culture is decent and supportive, making it a comfortable place to grow. While there’s room for improvement in overall work culture, it is still an invaluable experience for me and providing me with an insight into the industry.

Fun experience

Overall I had a fun experience during my internship in Seoul, South Korea. The staff at AIP was very helpful and usually answered my messaged quickly. They also found me an internship fairly quickly, which was much appriciated because of my tight schedule. However, the evening before my first day - when I had already arrived in Korea - I found out my internship is fully remote and the address I had received was the wrong one. Fourtunately I was in contact with another intern and she told me we actually don't even have a office. This was of course very shocking because I was not informed about this earlier, but at the end the arrangement was fine for me. I also heard other interns before me had a similar experience with this host company. What I liked was that AIP had arranged so that me and another intern stayed at the same accommodation, which meant we could easily work together and hang out together.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
If you want a specific experience be very clear about it and it is always good to ask questions. Reach out to other interns and make memories together!
Pros
  • Smooth communication
  • Meeting other interns
  • Experiencing another culture
Cons
  • I wasn't informed of the internship being fully remote before arriving to Korea

8-week internship in Chiang Mai

Thanks to AIP, I was able to really dive into the working culture during my eight-week internship in Thailand. The experience allowed me to see first-hand how companies operate, how colleagues collaborate, and what everyday office life looks like in a completely different cultural setting. It also gave me a much clearer idea of the career paths I might want to pursue after my studies and helped me better understand my own strengths and preferences in a professional environment.

This internship is an experience I will never forget. It shaped me both professionally and personally, and I’m grateful for the choice I made to take this step. It opened new doors, broadened my perspective, and gave me memories that will stay with me for a lifetime.

What was your funniest moment?
One lunch break, my colleagues invited me to play a game. We each had to draw cards one after another, and every card gave us an instruction about where to place our hand. The twist was that your hands had to stay in that position—if you moved them, you were out. As if that wasn’t enough, with each round a new task was added that also had to be completed. We laughed so much and had a great time together.
Pros
  • Gaining work experience
  • Exploring a new country on the weekends
  • Making memories for live
Cons
  • You don’t really choose your internship location -it depends on where your best interview is.
