6 weeks in Singapore

I did a 6-week internship in Singapore through AIP. From long before I left home, they have been so supportive. The process of securing an internship means that you work closely with your case manager—Herlyn in my case—who is always responsive and reachable via email or WhatsApp. My package included accomodation which saved me a lot of time and money, especially due to the cost of living in Singapore.
The only thing that could be improved was the quality of the accommodation, but I understand that’s it’s difficult to tell when the photos on the hotel website look nicer than reality.
Overall, I highly recommend AIP if you want a caring and personalised service!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Through AIP, you can meet many other people while in Singapore, all you have to do is ask your case manager to put you in touch! While I loved being surrounded by other interns and doing fun things as a group, remember to take time for yourself to explore the places you might enjoy the most, alone.
Pros
  • So much food and nice cafes.
  • Amazing cycling trails and islands to ferry to.
  • Great support in your internship from AIP.
Cons
  • Accomodation is expensive in SG so expect the bare minimum.
  • Often no kitchen, eating out is the norm.
  • Sometimes things seem reasonably priced but then they ++ tax and service fee

Taiwan Internship

AIP helped to make my first internship experience in Taiwan a very rewarding one! The process of securing the internship was smooth and straightforward, with an AIP coordinator assuring me every step of the way. They helped me to connect with companies in fields I was interested in, and I learnt a lot throughout my 2 months in Taiwan. Although it took some time to get used to the culture here, I became very comfortable living in Taipei. I would recommend AIP to my peers if they want to experience an overseas internship!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Get a Taiwanese phone number.

With it, you get access to the LINE superapp. If you thought Grab could do almost everything, the LINE app in Taiwan beats it by a large, large margin. Not only can you pay for almost everything in Taiwan, you also get access to their streaming service and news app. Plus there's even a TikTok clone built into the app. It's insane. In general, it's good to get a Taiwanese phone number regardless to liaise with your company.
Pros
  • Smooth process of securing the internship
  • Contacts readily available

Awesome opportunity

Super amazing opportunity where I got to explore another country, build skills for my professional career, and grow as a young adult. This internship taught me so much, both inside and outside the workplace, and I think every university student should do this at least once.
Here’s some of my fave parts of this internship program:
I made so many new friends that I’ve become really close with AND shared fun experiences with.
The bakeries here are AMAZING,
And, My host company were extremely kind and patient and gave me so much insight into working as a lawyer.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
The most surprising thing that I did was go to a music festival spontaneously on the first weekend. It was so worth it and amazing!
Pros
  • Accessible
  • Clean
  • Bakeries
Cons
  • Heat
  • The stares I got

AIP Internship in South Korea as Student

AIP has provided me a safe, convenient and amazing internship experience in South Korea. Good accommodation location and amazing host company choice.

The program had different activities that students could complete over the six weeks including cooking classes and language classes with attraction visits.

Students were provided housing essentials, towels, Sim card, airport transfer, t-money cards and transportation money. There were also networking events which added to the experience.

I would recommend the AIP internship program in South Korea.

My internship abroad in Japan

I attended a 3 month internship abroad in Japan through AIP. I can say that everything, from the registration process all the way to the end of my internship, was extremely professional. Not only was I given a personal account manager (Nisha, thank you!) that constantly kept me up to date, even with a large time difference between us in my own country and also in Japan, but I was also placed into a group chat upon arrival in Japan with 3 AlP workers continuously inquiring about my wellbeing and asking if I ever had questions or concerns. I don't want to make this review to long, but I will say that there are many, many other things that l'd like to say I was thoroughly impressed with. I couldn't recommend AlP enough if you want a great internship experience abroad. Thank you again to everyone who made my experience that much easier.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I’m stuck in between saying the night life in Shibuya and the beauty of Mount Fuji 😂
Pros
  • The people/food
  • The friends I made
  • My work place and coworkers
Cons
  • My internship wasn’t long enough
  • Some food was kinda crazy
  • Idk honestly I can’t say anything bad

AIP is extremely professional. Their internship placement has given me one of the best experiences in my life, with many learning opportunities and a warm host company with lifelong friendships. I initially went for 3 months but ended up extending. The people over at AIP were nothing but helpful. I had an internship in the finance sector and I had learned a lot. I think the most important takeaways I have is the knowledge I gained through this internship and the relationships built during my short time here.

My 6-months Tech Internship

As a recent graduate entering the real-life coding world, these past 6 months have been a thrilling exploration. When I face challenges, I ask my teammates, learn from them, and work together as a team. My team's support has been crucial, and in these 6 months, I've accomplished my tasks in the project I've been involved in. There might be a language barrier for those who can't speak Japanese. For me, everything was better than what I had expected. Accommodation, travel, food, people, and culture are a perfect fit for me and I've just fallen in love with Japan. Thanks again, AIP for creating this path to my career journey.

Pros
  • Food and Drinks
  • Transportation
  • Friendly and Kind People
Cons
  • Cold Weather

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Since English is not their first language, you might have the biggest language barrier, while communicating with locals.
Whether you are studying or working there, you should be fluent in a conversational level.

Interned at WE CARE Community Services, Ltd.

AIP has a partnership with my university, so I was able to apply for free. Pricing was also more competitive than at many similar programs. Also, when I had a problem getting my Work Holiday Pass for Singapore, I thought I was not going to be able to go. Luckily, my coordinator at AIP was very helpful. We were able to work out a new plan, and everything worked out fine. Just be aware that, by applying, you are agreeing to pay for the program, so make sure you know you're ready beforehand. Also, if you're going to Singapore, make sure you apply for your Work Holiday Pass multiple weeks in advance!

Down Under Discovery

One of the standout aspects of my internship experience was the level of support and mentorship provided by both AIP and my host company. From regular check-ins to constructive feedback sessions, I always felt valued and supported in my growth and development. The guidance I received not only enhanced my technical skills but also helped me gain valuable insights into the industry and workplace culture in Australia.

Big thanks to my account manager who made sure a smooth placement process. This wouldn't be possible without the team's effort.
