DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS DISHONEST FIRM

My first program with AV was in July 2023 with a teen program, as a volunteer they gave me my own room as I travelling alone, second was an adult program in Dec 2023, they allowed me to pay for my own room so accommodated my needs. As for the ESL mentor role in July 2024, they stole my deposit , forced me to share a room even though the ESL mentor package said you'd get your own room, and didn't pay me for my time, they gave a volunteer their own room yet force ESL mentors to share against their will.

Cons
  • Slave labour
  • Bad food
  • Doesn't accommodate special needs

Angloville review 2024

I cannot recommend this program enough to anyone who is looking to do travelling cheaply and to meet inspiring like minded people. The venues you get to stay at are incredible and the locations are beautiful. You get plenty of free time and there's always something to do at the hotel or close by. The participants you work with are intelligent, interesting and fun to talk to. It doesn't feel like teaching at all yet you also learn so much from the participants. It is overall a very fulfilling and rewarding experience which I will be doing again.

Pros
  • The people I met
  • The experiences I got
  • The memories I made
Cons
  • Some venues don't have the best food

Friendly people and good overall

I really enjoyed my time participating with Angloville and met many other people who had engaged with multiple programmes. The experience was incredibly rewarding and enriching. The program is well-organized, and the coordinators ensure that every participant feels comfortable and engaged. I would suggest it to anyone looking to meet new people, learn about different cultures, and travel to parts of the world they would not normally visit. Whether you are a seasoned traveler or someone looking for their first adventure abroad, Angloville offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in different cultures while making lifelong friends. The connections I made and the experiences I had were truly unforgettable. It’s not just about teaching English; it’s about exchanging ideas, stories, and perspectives with people from all walks of life. The program also allows you to explore beautiful, lesser-known destinations, adding a touch of adventure to the learning experience. I highly recommend Angloville to anyone eager to broaden their horizons and embrace new challenges.

What would you improve about this program?
To provide more structure with programme framework to clarify what is expected of participants throughout the duration of the week, ie. to support the local participants. This would support the engagement and level of learning experienced by the local participants as it would provide the international participants guidelines and support to help in the most effective way, eg. How/when to give feedback, what areas to focus on, what the prompt sheets are designed for
Pros
  • Location
  • Friendly people
  • Learn about new cultures
Cons
  • Lack of coordination and communication between delivery operations and central Angloville team

Angloville-Kurpe Arte -Novogorod, Poland

I was a native English-speaker 'mentor' for this English conversation program in Poland. We were promised 6 nights in a 3-4 star hotel+3 meals a day. The reality was we were put 2-to-a room in the staff quarters-old dirty furniture with bugs+ yuki food which made you pyuke. In the evening nothing cooked -just cheese+ bread. 1 mentor was bitten in the eye by a bug in her room. Polish students pay Euros 1000+ for this program I doubt Angloville spent 100 Euros on the mentors. They even have the nerve to charge 35 Euros to the mentors as 'admin fee'. A horrible experience. Slave labour never again. Avoid like the plague.

Pros
  • Nothing!
Cons
  • Slave labour, terrible food, awful accomodation.
  • terrible food
  • dirty bug-ridden accomodation

Warsaw

I was very excited to return to Warsaw after twenty two years this time with Angloville. I first went on a coach travelling over twenty seven hours. However this time around it was a different experience as now many Polish people spoke English compared with 2001 when Poland was being prepared to join the European union. My stay was great this time at Lamza ...a train ride outside of Warsaw...beautiful countryside and serene. The program was at Arti hotel. Meeting Lovely Mentees and fellow international Mentors.

Pros
  • Food locations
Cons
  • Need better conditions to sleep and refresh.

I met some lovely people international mentors and the national mentees who were very knowledgeable about the world affairs which they depicted in their presentations.

Pros
  • Food locations
Cons
  • Need better conditions to sleep and refresh.

Not as advertised, Don't recommend.

The conditions of the hotel accommodations and the food were not as promised by the marketing staff. The shared rooms for the volunteers were in a damp basement with a moldy, stinking smell. The mattresses were 2 inch foam and very uncomfortable. Two of the three meals/day were the same everyday. Cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs.
I was scheduled to volunteer for another course two months later but immediately contacted the administration and told them I would not be attending and why.
Even with two months notice, they have refused to refund my 150 Euro deposit because I will not do another course, where according to other volunteers, those accommodations are worse than the one I did.

Pros
  • I think the paying students got a lot out of the English immersion but even they complained of the accommodations.
  • Good for the paying students, they had better accommodations.
Cons
  • Very long hours 12 1/2 per day, speaking with, eating with and doing activities with paying customers.
  • Misrepresentation of accommodations and meals.
  • Volunteer coordinator disconnected from volunteers and obviously wishing to be somewhere else.
Response from Angloville

Dear Shea,

As discussed in our previous email correspondence, we regret to learn that our partner venue did not meet your personal standards and expectations.

We regret you did not inform us of your concerns during your stay at the venue. Our partner venue is a well-established facility in Poland, with positive reviews on booking.com (8.4/10): https://www.booking.com/hotel/pl/zbyszkonowogrod.it.html. If you had informed us of the issues, we would have promptly investigated and provided an immediate and satisfactory solution. Unfortunately, you have denied us this opportunity. You decided to cancel the remainder of your booking instead, based on rumors and allegations.

We understand your disappointment regarding the non-refund of your deposit. Angloville follows standard hotel booking procedures, and in the event of a cancellation, a penalty ranging from 40% to 100% may be applied to the deposit. It's important to note that the refundable deposit amount is 99 EUR, not 150 EUR as mentioned in your review.

Despite the inconveniences during your free stay, we hope you found enjoyment in interacting with our local and international participants. We trust that you appreciated the unique opportunity to explore Polish culture while making friends from around the world.

Best regards,
Angloville Team

Angloville Poznan, Poland

It is an amazing program where you get to interact with people from different cultures. It is also really awesome interacting with the participants. You also get to learn a lot from them, especially about the country since they are the locals. It will be some hard goodbyes, for sure, but definitely worth it.

If you are a history buff, I would also recommend attending the city tour as you get to immerse yourself in the knowledge of your starting city.

Overalls, it is an experience of a lifetime.

An Amazing Experience with Angloville's Best of London Junior Program

I recently had the pleasure of participating in the Best of London Junior Program with Angloville, and I must say, it was an incredibly enriching and fascinating experience. As a mentor, I embarked on a journey that not only allowed me to explore the vibrant city of London but also enabled me to connect with participants from various corners of the globe.

The opportunity to meet and interact with young minds from diverse backgrounds was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sharing ideas, stories, and perspectives with individuals who hailed from different cultures and countries enriched my understanding of the world in ways I never imagined. Angloville's commitment to fostering a global community of learners is evident through the thoughtful curation of participants.

One aspect that stood out during my time as a mentor was the boundless enthusiasm of the junior participants from Poland. Their eagerness to not only grasp the English language but also immerse themselves in the cultural intricacies was truly commendable. Serving as their mentor was an absolute delight, as their energy was infectious, and their willingness to learn was inspiring. Watching them embrace new experiences and knowledge with such enthusiasm was truly rewarding.

I cannot emphasize enough how much this experience has impacted me. The Angloville program not only provides a platform for cultural exchange but also facilitates personal growth. Stepping into the role of a mentor challenged me to refine my communication skills, adapt to different learning styles, and find innovative ways to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps.

Looking ahead, I am already planning to engage in more programs with Angloville. The value of the connections made and the insights gained from this experience are immeasurable, and I am excited to continue this journey of exploration and learning. Whether you're a mentor looking to make a difference or a junior participant eager to expand your horizons, Angloville's programs offer a unique and enriching avenue to achieve these goals.

In conclusion, the Best of London Junior Program with Angloville is an exceptional opportunity that promises unforgettable moments and valuable interactions. If you're seeking an experience that combines language learning, cultural exchange, and personal growth, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Angloville a try. It's an investment in yourself and a step towards a more interconnected global community.
