A great experience

I have completed three angloville programs over the period of a month.
I was a little skeptical before going as my recruiter had disappeared and stopped responding to me (I assume she has quit) however when I got on the program it was fantastic and unforgettable.
By the end of the first day, I felt as though I had known the other mentors forever. By the end of the week they felt like my family.
The relationships developed between the kids and mentors and mentors with other mentors was fantastic.
Although the days are long, I felt excited to do it all over again the next day.
Better yet was when on the following weeks you ran into people you met on previous weeks.
It was really a great experience.
Would do it again for sure.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Some of the hotels didn't have the best selection of food.
I would recommend getting a selection of snacks before the program or taking a trip to the shop during.

The best experience you will ever have

So far I have done a total of 6 programs with Angloville and it has been one of the most memorable times of my life. I applied last year casually not expecting it to be that good. This program offers you a chance to make friends from all over the world, from local people and contributes a lot to your personal development. It's filled with fun activities and social games where you don't feel as if you are working. Accommodation and food are fully covered and you get to stay in the most exotic countryside resorts full of scenic beauty and nature. I hope to return back to it again very soon.

What would you improve about this program?
I would prefer it if Angloville offers some sort of monetary incentive to the volunteers

Great Program!

Volunteering with Angloville was an amazing experience, there is a huge range of people you will get the chance to speak with and learn from as well as teach them some things yourself.

The participants are all so grateful for their time with a native speaker and are often so intelligent and have a lot to bring to a conversation. I managed to spend just £120 over a month spent in Poland as all meals and accommodation are covered for you.

Whilst on programmes, the support was amazing from fellow native speakers as well as the coordinators, if you ever had an issue there would be someone to help out! Can’t recommend Angloville enough.

What would you improve about this program?
The only small issue I had was 3 back to back programmes didn’t leave a full day of exploring in between so if this is a priority for you, try to leave a week free between programmes!

Jan 2020 Junior Programme

I had such an incredible experience on my programme, and met amazing people who are now really close friends. I was a bit anxious before going, as it was my first solo travelling experience and I didn't know anyone who had done it. There was no need to be though, most people there were also travelling by themselves and that helped us to bond quicker too.
I wouldn't necessarily call it volunteering though, because the kids are paying for it, but you're still helping them a lot which is rewarding.
I was at the Dwor Pomorski location near Poznan, and both are really beautiful. The food was quite nice, and I've heard the vegetarian and vegan options there are much better than at most places.

Thoroughly enjoyable week!

The programme was very well organised, from recruitment, to the city tour and being provided with all relevant information for the lessons.
The group of native speakers was diverse, of various nationalities and ages. The Polish participants were engaging, sociable and eager to learn.
The hotel that was stayed in was in a beautiful setting and we had full access to the spa facilities. We were given the choice of who to share a room with if we had any preferences but as we were normally busy in the day and evenings, little time was spent in the rooms.

Too Good and True

When I first signed up on this program, I felt that it was too good to be true from a volunteer perspective. Nevertheless, I decided to risk my investment of initial funds into this program. Having completed 3 programs, acquired a certification in TEFL and gotten my refunds from Angloville on time, I can certainly assure you that it is what it seems - very good. The value it adds to participants (who sign up to improve their English speaking skills,) is visible, real and much valued by participants.

What would you improve about this program?
Each program carries its unique challenges depending on the size and composition of participant groups, volunteer groups, coordinators themselves and the venue. Therefore to make a generic statement about improvement in these programs may not really add value.

Volunteering in Poland

As a retired HR manager I had no experience of teaching a foreign language but plenty of experience of working with people at all levels in their careers and this was a chance to use that experience in a positive way. I met a lot of keen enthusiastic Polish people and interesting volunteers from across the English speaking world. The five days on the programme is interesting, challenging and enjoyable, if you are interested in people you will enjoy the formal and informal aspects of the programme. I always add a few days after or before the programme to do the tourist bit and Wroclaw and Krakow were amazing places to visit.

What would you improve about this program?
Allow volunteers to pay the extra to have single occupancy.

Well worth doing!

Great conversations about a range of topics, mostly good food and nice accomodation. Let me see, what else can I say? I have another 600 odd characters to use before I'm entitled to my deposit back. That's a lot of characters. Let me think of something really useful and informative to say. Well I guess a good idea is to check if the accommodation has a pool or jacuzzi facilities. In that case, I would advise bringing a swimsuit. Yes a swimsuit is a great idea. Definitely bring a swimsuit. Now if its cold, a coat would be a great addition to your suitcase. So there you have it, a swimsuit and a coat. That's the best advice I have. Also, be kind, ask questions and treat the experience as an opportunity to learn from others. Enjoy the Angloville experience!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Listen and learn. Have fun and enjoy the stimulating conversations.

Experience for the life time

I was nervous and unsure at first, as the program are well organised that help me a lot gained more confidence thought the program. Excellent location in Slovakia 🇸🇰. There is 15 native speakers paired with 14 participants, because 5 native do not show up, if not there will be more breaks for us. I spent most of my morning relaxing, enjoy my breakfast and hiking around near by area. I Brought so much foods and drinks with me, but I was fed well, so ended up kept eating my snacks on my ways back to my next destination. The best meal of the day is breakfast and is all our favourite and the view of the location. I loved the coffee, tea served though out the day and cake in the afternoon. I can see the coordinates tried they best look after everyone and ensure the right meal have be delivered to the right person.

What would you improve about this program?
Except the chef in the hotel cooked the foods with too much 🧂 salt, if not everything is prefect.

Prague July 2019 Adult programme

This was my 2nd Angloville experience and a great improvement on the 1st one. The programme was very well organised beginning with the tour round wonderful Prague to the train and coach journey to our spa hotel in Velke Karlovice not far from Ostrava. The coordinators were extremely efficient and professional providing both volunteers and participants with a variety of fun activities, all the time encouraging great interaction between native and non-native speakers. The mentor system was so humbling and rewarding and I was fortunate to see at close quarters the improvement in my very brave mentee (a novice English speaker of 5 months only). Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and the wonderful people I met and can't wait for my next adventure.
