About Program

Our Summer program in Spain is not like any other Summer program. We are concerned that, in a short period of time, you can have and enjoy an experience of total immersion in the life, language, and culture of Spain.

We do not intend to offer a sightseeing trip, but rather an absolutely educational immersion experience that helps you approach a lifestyle that is different to the one you are used to, in order for you to learn how to open up to other cultures, communicate in another language and, in short, to take you to another part of the world that can enrich your personal life experiences.

All of our activities during your stay in Spain are focused on daily activities of the Spanish life (cooking workshops, visits to a Spanish High School, friendly championships with local soccer teams, gastronomic outings, flamenco dance workshops, bicycle rides, kayaking on the river) and other activities that involve an approach to Spanish culture, especially to the culture of Seville.

Summer 2025 in Sevilla!

I am writing this review knowing that its exactly what I did when choosing an international program for my 15 year old son. We are so glad we choose this!
Our family could not be more grateful for the incredible experience our child had with Seville Abroad. From the moment he arrived, the program provided a safe, supportive environment that encouraged him to step outside his comfort zone and discover his own strengths.
One of the most meaningful outcomes for us was watching him grow more independent than ever before. Whether navigating daily life, engaging with new friends, or embracing the vibrant culture of Seville, he learned to trust himself by making good decisions and most of all become more comfortable traveling by himself. That confidence has stayed with him long after returning home.
Seville itself worked its magic, too. The city’s warmth, beauty, and welcoming spirit made a lasting impression on him. It’s clear that Seville will always be dear to him, a place he’ll carry in his heart as a source of inspiration and cherished memories.
I would like to thank and say how awesome the staff is! (Pepa, Ena and the whole crew) They provided updates on everything they did. I got to say it made me jealous. I wanted to be doing those things too!
We wholeheartedly recommend Seville Abroad to any family looking for a transformative, enriching, and truly unforgettable experience.
If you have any question please feel free to email me at cfsanchez@gmail.com.

Pepa and staff THANKS for all you did!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
To my son, he said going to sleep really late!

The best summer ever!!

If you’re thinking about doing Seville Abroad, definitely do it! It truly was the best experience of my life and I think back about it so much! When I first arrived at the airport I already knew I would become so close with the group of people I was traveling with and we all clicked instantly. When I met my host family, I was greeted with so much welcome and kindness and I knew I was going to love it there immediately. I learned so much spanish and so much about the culture there and met so many new people. The teachers are absolutely amazing and are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. The group of people I traveled with became like close family and I know I’m going to have so many lifelong friendships all over the U.S.. Seville is also the most beautiful and safe place and the buildings are so gorgeous. I loved all the excursions we did and how much of Spain we got to see. This truly was such an amazing program and I had so much fun!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
The most unfamiliar thing I ate was when my host family brought home flavored snails. They were surprisingly really good!
Pros
  • Making life long friendships
  • Getting more confident in speaking spanish
  • Exploring the beautiful city
Cons
  • The only con I have is the house I stayed at was outside the city and I needed to take the metro and a bus to get to it.

Seville Abroad

My daughter participated in the Seville Abroad summer program and her experience could not have been better. Pepa takes care of the students like they are her family. I was blown away by the breadth of experiences she had and the confidence that she came back with. She talks frequently about wanting to live in Spain and her ease with speaking Spanish has persisted. This program exceeded every expectation I had. I felt like my daughter was cared for and safe while also gaining confidence to navigate a new country. My daughter has changed in so many wonderful ways and will never forget this experience.

Pros
  • The staff was so supportive to students and communicated with parents.
  • They traveled so many places and did so much as a group.
  • Host family experience.
Cons
  • Most of the group had little Spanish language, so less practice speaking Spanish than in a school year or semester program.

Incredible summer in Sevilla

Addie had an incredible time in Sevilla! Sevilla Abroad created an environment that was incredibly supportive, fun and educational. There was a perfect mix of planned activities to learn about the customs and culture of southern Spain, as well as downtime to relax and get to know her host family. The communication was outstanding! Addie fell in love with her host family and her entire group at Sevilla Abroad. She did not want to come home and is already planning her next trip to Spain with Sevilla Abroad! It truly was a transformative experience for her and she made friendships that will last a lifetime.

The time of my life!

I loved Seville Abroad! I had so much fun exploring the city and trying out new places with some of my best friends now. I will miss everyone, especially the teachers with whom I have become so close. We have created a sort of family from all around the United States, and I will miss everyone so much. It was the time of my life and definitely an adventure I will never forget, with so many memorable stories we will be telling for years to come. I would love to do another study abroad like this again!

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest moment was when my friends and I sang in the street for an hour and got 15 euros.
Pros
  • The friends you make
  • The city
  • the adventures and excursions
Cons
  • The bus from palomares

Seville Abroad

I LOVED my experience doing the Seville abroad summer program. It exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed the entire experience. What I loved the most was the freedom we had and the ability to explore the city and everything it has to offer. I felt like the program went by super fast because basically every day we had a planned activity and if we didn’t I would always go out and explore with my friends or family. I was nervous at first to speak Spanish but my family as well as many of the other families knew English pretty well so there wasn’t any stress with communication. I definitely did learn Spanish, mostly talking to other Spanish teens and ordering food. I was in the easiest level for Spanish classes and they were super fun but I think I learned more Spanish outside of class than I did while I was there. Every day we would go out and do an activity during Spanish class which made me look forward to the classes and I had a great time. One thing about the summer program is that it was over 100 degrees nearly every day so I bought a fan early on which I recommend. After a couple weeks I adapted to the heat and during the hottest hours I would be inside. Overall I loved this program and would recommend it to anybody.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My advice to future travelers is to bring/buy a purse, a fan, and mosquito repellent. Most of the days I would be wearing skirts or dresses without pockets so a purse was vital to carry all my essentials. A fan definitely also is really important for the summer and mosquitos are especially bad at night so repellant is super important. I also think that you should become friends with all the people early on so your bonds can just get stronger over the month.
Pros
  • The freedom we had
  • Amazing host family
  • Lots of scheduled fun activities and experiences
Cons
  • Super hot
  • Didn’t learn as much Spanish as I thought
  • Spent lots of money because I go food and went shopping alot

My Spain experience

This month of studying abroad was honestly the best decision I have ever made. I never would have thought that at 15 years old I would be alone in Spain for a month. At first I was very homesick and I hadn’t adjusted well, but once we started school and met friends I knew it was going to be an amazing experience. When we all met up for the first time I thought it was going to be hard to make friends, but it was the complete opposite. Everyone was so friendly and we all clicked instantly! I was very nervous going into school because I thought it was going to be very hard and stressful. But, Candela made sure we were all on the same level and always had a fun and interactive lesson plan for us. Candela made me enjoy learning Spanish and made me want to come to class every day. Coming to Spain knowing little Spanish was definitely a struggle when interacting with my host family but it got easier over time. One thing I would fully recommend is going out at night. It was definitely my favorite part of the trip, especially staying out late on Friday nights. It was a really good opportunity to bond with the other students and even meet the locals. Overall I would say this was a life changing experience and I would come again!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
The most unfamiliar thing I ate was gazpacho. I never would think of drinking a cold vegetable drink. It is not my favorite food but it was pretty good and I am glad I tried it.
Pros
  • Becoming best friends with some of the girls and guys and creating bonds that I never thought was possible in such a short amount of time.
  • All the day trips and activities were always so enjoyable and I loved getting to experience something new each day.
  • Learning the Spanish language and culture and how differently they do things around here.
Cons
  • I didn’t end up learning as much Spanish as I was hoping.
  • It is going to be very hard to say goodbye to all my new friends.
  • It was very hot out so some of the day trips were very hard to get through without over heating or spending tons of money on water bottles.

Seville Abroad Summer Program

This program was amazing! Not only did I improve my Spanish, but I formed bonds that I will have forever. The staff of this program is nothing but supportive. They’re also extremely approachable; I never hesitated to reach out even if I had a tiny inconvenience. Everyone is very reasonable when it comes to rules, and I always felt like the main priorities with Seville abroad were fun, safety, and cultural exploration. My one complaint was where my house was located, because I was quite far from the city center, and my morning commute to class was slightly over an hour. However, I would recommend this program to everyone!!

What was your funniest moment?
my funniest moment was making friends with spanish people everywhere i went. the people are very sociable and it makes every day such an adventure. the way
