About Program

Our Summer program in Spain is not like any other Summer program. We are concerned that, in a short period of time, you can have and enjoy an experience of total immersion in the life, language, and culture of Spain.

We do not intend to offer a sightseeing trip, but rather an absolutely educational immersion experience that helps you approach a lifestyle that is different to the one you are used to, in order for you to learn how to open up to other cultures, communicate in another language and, in short, to take you to another part of the world that can enrich your personal life experiences.

All of our activities during your stay in Spain are focused on daily activities of the Spanish life (cooking workshops, visits to a Spanish High School, friendly championships with local soccer teams, gastronomic outings, flamenco dance workshops, bicycle rides, kayaking on the river) and other activities that involve an approach to Spanish culture, especially to the culture of Seville.

Summer in Spain

Seville Abroad gave me an amazing experience where I learned about Spanish culture, history, and the language. I met so many amazing people and created many friendships with people I would have never met otherwise. Every activity we did was so much fun and learned about Spain. My favorite part of the trip was the other students. I have become so close with many of them and learned about their parts of the United States. This program is a no brainer for anyone who wants an adventure with a large group and a learning experience. I couldn’t recommend Seville Abroad more!

What was your funniest moment?
There was so many hilarious moments I can’t just pick one. I think all the times I laughed the most was when I was with the friends I made here.
Pros
  • Meeting new people
  • Learning about Spanish culture and the language
  • Visiting multiple other cities in Spain
Cons
  • A language barrier with the host family
  • Homesickness
  • The heat

Seville Abroad Reveiw

Overall, my time in Spain was one of the best summers I have had. The days were always jam-packed with activities, excitement, and enjoyment. Almost every day, I was out doing things in either the city or the neighboring suburbs with my friends. If not, I was having a slow and quiet, but very much needed, day with my host family. During this time, I met many people, people I will continue to miss well after we leave Spain. I met both mixes of Spanish, Americans, and other travelers from all over. Seville Abroad gave me a summer I never thought I would have.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
During this the most nerve-moment was going into this program was not knowing anyone previously. I overcame that when I saw that the people here were all kind and overall really sweet and nice to hang out with. They are what made this trip truly so fun and a experince I will forever miss.
Pros
  • Spending time with friends
  • Going out in the day and night through sevilla
  • Travelling to different citys and places
Cons
  • My comute to my house in Palomares
  • the heat!

Seville Abroad Review

Overall I think this trip was an amazing experience for me. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to experience new foods, customs and a new culture. I made some amazing friendships both with kids from the program and from Seville. I really liked that we had lots of group activities while also having lots of time to explore the city on our own and with friends. This trip helped me gain confidence in my Spanish speaking abilities as I have never had to have so many full conversations in spanish and helped me become more confident in talking to others in general. To the next kids coming out here I would say don’t be afraid to talk to new people and try new things, it can be scary but it is so worth it.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The hardest moment for me was the first few days with my host family. I felt so homesick and lonely and I really wanted to go home. I overcame that by creating friendships with the other kids and connecting more with my host family to feel more at home in seville.

Adventure and Learning!

The best thing about my summer with Sevilleabroad are the numerous trips through which I got to know Andalucía really well! Often we went to beautiful beaches, the perfect place to be in summer! Meanwhile we learned a lot of spanish, because the host siblings attend the trips as well which are guided in spansih. Everything is very personal and the families were so nice! I always felt safe and never alone or helpless! Everyone took care of me very well and integrated me in to their lives! I'm still in contact with them and hopefully will visit them soon!

Life long experience

With so many other study abroad programs out there it’s really hard to know the best one but I’m so glad I took a shot with this one, not only did I learn so much about the language, culture and history, I got to learn about myself and about many of the people personally. I’m made relationships that will last my whole life and best friends that, though we maybe so very far apart I know they’d never leave my side, words cannot describe how much I miss the the people and the experience. I LOVE YOU SEVILLA

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I had to do it all again I wish I could’ve opened my self up more earlier in the beginning of the trip cause and lived in the moment

Summer abroad

I come from a backwater town in the states so for me going into the huge city of Seville and other towns of Spain was amazing to see. The cobblestone streets and ancient churches were a sight that I had never before seen in my life. Usually when I think of a church it’s a little white building on the top of a hill. The churches that I saw were very grand, most being taller than any oak tree I’ve ever seen. Almost everywhere we went had beaches amazing as those that I’ve seen along the Carolinas and all were fun just to go and see how things looked elsewhere.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I were to do it all over again I would chose to experience more of the city events
