About Program
With the lively streets of Barcelona as your classroom, you can revel in all the familiar landmarks — the Basílica de la Sagrada Familia, the Barri Gotic, Casa Batllo, and La Pedrera while taking in the history and culture during your courses. Barcelona’s mild climate and the diverse landscapes of the Catalonia region provide students with a variety of opportunities to spend time on the beaches, in the Pyrenees Mountains, or visiting some of the most famous wineries and cava (champagne) caves of Spain.
FIE’s study abroad programs in Spain seize the best of both worlds. With an emphasis on co-curricular activities to ensure you contextualize your academic learning, Spain offers extensive and authentic exposure to the local culture. Our academic partners (UAB Barcelona) and on-the-ground partner (ALA) serve not only as your homebase, but also as your launchpad to adventure!

Scholarships
FIE
FIE is a values-driven community that is invested in making a difference. We believe everybody should be able access the life changing benefits of studying abroad. Our scholarships give recipients the opportunity to build their own views, participate in the host culture on an authentic basis and go on an adventure while being supported. Students choose one of three application routes, chosen to complement FIE’s core values. In addition to the financial award, all scholarship recipients will participate in a program of supplementary benefits, which may include:
- events to connect with other scholarship students
- a scholarship mentor who will support the recipient to make the most of their study abroad experience and achieve their personal and academic goals
- access to leadership opportunities and the chance to share opinions and impact FIE’s program
