⭐️ Tamaki TEFL Recruitment Review – Highly Recommended ⭐️

I highly recommend Tamaki TEFL Recruitment. From the very beginning, they were with me every step of the way — from interview preparation to visa support and the final stages before moving to Japan.

One thing that stood out for me is how organized they are. Every step — from paperwork to document submissions — was done clearly and in the correct order. This made the whole process smooth and stress-free for me.

Leaving home to start a new life in another country is a big step filled with nerves, excitement, and sometimes doubt. Through all of that, Tamaki TEFL Recruitment supported me so well. They cared about my well-being, encouraged me when things felt overwhelming, and reminded me to enjoy time with my family before leaving. I never felt alone.

They also helped me prepare for life in Japan — even teaching me useful basic Japanese phrases before I arrived. And when I shortly fell sick after moving here, they checked up on me to make sure I was okay. That kind of genuine care is rare, and I will always appreciate it.

Even now, three months after arriving in Japan, they still check up on me to make sure I am settling in well and happy in my new environment. That continued support means so much.

I originally thought I would go to China, but doors opened for Japan — and I am so grateful they did. Japan has been amazing: peaceful, beautiful, and the school I was placed in is a wonderful fit for my personality and teaching style. I have a great team and I’m enjoying teaching so much.

If you are considering teaching abroad and want a team that truly supports you, guides you, and cares for you throughout the entire journey, Tamaki TEFL Recruitment is the perfect choice. With them, you will never feel alone.

Thank you, Tamaki TEFL Recruitment, for making this dream possible. I am truly grateful!

Nagasaki

I have been working here for 2 months so far. It is a good program with a laid-back schedule. Tomoko was my recruiter, and she did a great job of explaining the program. She checked in with me many times throughout the process and even after I arrived on location. However, some things came as a surprise, as I was not expecting to work six days a week sometimes. I think if you are trying to come to Japan this is a good way to do it. Japan is a very beautiful country with many things to do and try.

What would you improve about this program?
I would give teachers more information when they arrive to area.
Pros
  • afternoon hours
Cons
  • can work six days a week

Tomoko is the best.

Working with TTR and Tomoko has been an absolute pleasure.

From a professional perspective, TTR made my transition from the UK to Japan smooth and equally seamless. Yet, from a personal perspective, this is where Tomoko really made a difference for me.

She aided me every step of the way and even when I had a medical wobble which meant I couldn’t make the trip as initially planned, Tomoko never abandoned or forgot about me and I really appreciated that. I have loved every second of being in Japan and it wouldn’t have been possible without Tomoko and TTR.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

GoOverseas - and don't look back

TTR is, quite honestly, the best there is.

This is my second time working with Tomoko, and once again, it’s been nothing short of brilliant. From start to finish, she makes the entire process feel effortless and supported.

Tomoko takes care of you in ways you didn’t even know you needed. It’s only once you’re abroad that you realize—“Wow, what would I have done without her?”

She prepares you for every step, from the very beginning right through to your arrival (and beyond!). Even after placement, she continues to check in and make sure you’re doing well.

What stands out most is how genuinely she cares. She listens to your goals, understands your needs, and helps you get exactly where you want to be.

That’s why I chose to work with TTR again—because I knew I’d be in the best hands possible, with all the guidance and support I could ask for.

“Thank you” doesn’t even begin to cover it! 💛

A Wonderful Experience with Amazing Support!

What a pleasant and wonderful experience! Choosing to work with GoOverseas — and especially with Tomoko — was truly the best decision I have ever made. From the very beginning, Tomoko showed incredible professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail that immediately made me feel confident and supported throughout the entire process. Moving to a foreign country can be a daunting idea, but thanks to Tomoko’s guidance, it felt smooth, organized, and even exciting.

Right from our first conversation, she took the time to understand my background, my goals, and the kind of teaching experience I was looking for in Japan. She made sure every step of the process was clear and manageable, providing all the information I needed — from the application and interview stages to the visa process and preparing for life in Japan. What really stood out to me was how responsive she was. Any question I had, no matter how small, was answered quickly and thoroughly. It was reassuring to know that I could rely on someone who genuinely cared about my success and comfort.

Tomoko’s efficiency and professionalism are unmatched. She always ensured that I had the correct documents, that deadlines were met, and that I felt confident going into every stage of the hiring process. Beyond the logistics, though, she offered genuine encouragement and emotional support. Her friendly attitude and calm reassurance helped take away much of the anxiety that often comes with moving abroad. It’s rare to find someone so committed to making sure things go smoothly for others, and Tomoko did that perfectly.

After arriving in Japan, I realized just how much her guidance had prepared me. From what to expect during orientation to how to adapt to Japanese work culture, everything she told me was accurate and helpful. Because of her, I was able to transition quickly and focus on what really matters — teaching and enjoying my time in Japan. I’ve grown so much both professionally and personally since coming here, and I owe a huge part of that to the amazing support I received from her and GoOverseas.

I would absolutely recommend GoOverseas, and especially Tomoko, to anyone considering teaching in Japan. Whether you’re fresh out of university or looking for a new adventure, having someone like Tomoko guiding you makes all the difference. She’s knowledgeable, kind, and always goes the extra mile to ensure you’re well-prepared and comfortable.

If you’re even slightly thinking about taking the leap and working abroad, do it — and make sure to reach out to Tomoko. She is truly the best of the best, and with her help, your transition to teaching in Japan will be as smooth and rewarding as mine has been.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
For anyone thinking about working overseas, I highly recommend it. Life is too short not to take the opportunity. Even if you only work abroad for a year, the experience and knowledge you gain will stay with you forever. Stepping out of your comfort zone and working in a foreign country is one of the best ways to grow personally and professionally. It’s truly a life-changing experience.
Pros
  • They are super efficient.
  • Makes your life easier.
  • Very professional and helpful in everything.

Tomoko! The magical woman that she is.

Without Tomoko I would not have made it to where I am today so quickly. She has impeccable skills when it comes to details and keeping everything in order when it came to paperwork or any online meetings, or any updates when it came to the process. She was attentive and caring through the whole process, always checking in with me and even after my placement she still kept contact to make sure I was still comfortable and doing well. I could not recommend Tomoko enough, she was a dream to work with and made the whole experience more pleasant and comfortable. Thank you Tomoko for all of your hard work!

TTR has been amazing

Tomoko has been so helpful during the process of working in Japan. She was incredibly patient and supportive during what can be a stressful time of sorting out all the documents for the VISA.

She also gave me a very detailed and honest explanation of what my job would entail and the challenges I would likely face during it. This helped me to be prepared and I feel like it’s helped me to adapt quicker, as a result.

Since arriving in Japan, she has kept in touch to make sure everything is going well. It has been amazing and I feel so lucky to have had her help me throughout the entire process and make everything so much easier.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Tako, which is octopus in Japan.
It was actually quite tasty and I would definitely have it again, maybe not part of my staple diet though.
Pros
  • Detailed Information of what the job entails
  • High level of support during VISA process
  • High level of support even after arriving in Japan

Tamaki TEFL Recruitment is the best

I'll shout this from any roof top anywhere any day, Tomoko is the best recruiter you can ever work with, her attention to detail, needs, coupled with a great work ethic, care, expert guidance and advice makes the whole process of relocating to another country the most easiest and smoothest. I've always wanted nothing but to teach, Tomoko helped make my dreams come true. I'm living the dream and teaching the most amazing kids. Tomoko was there throughout every step of the way. Highly recommended!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The idea of relocating to another country all the way across the world, that was scary, but Tomoko held my hand throughout the whole process, offered lots of advice and tips. Transitioning and adjusting to life in Japan was the most easiest process.

Questions & Answers

Hi Zac! I am pretty sure that everybody needs at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) to get the Japanese work visa. I can't speak for the other countries though. Also, there could be exceptions, but you should verify with the Japanese immigration site info: https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html Hope it helped! Have a good one!
