About Program
Our two main projects in India are the 'Project Footprints' and 'Genesis' projects.
In Project Footprints, volunteers will be supporting the establishment and enforcement of protection for children, including their rights to association with human identity, the basic needs for food, education, healthcare, protection of children's civil rights and freedom. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help the underprivileged children by teaching them skills that will enable them to excel in life.
The Genesis project aims to raise awareness of HIV/AIDs through teaching about this issue at various schools and educational institutions. Volunteers will create learning modules to diverse stakeholders such as students, the total and slum population and companies. The majority of the target audience will speak little to no English, so the challenge will be to communicate across this barrier.
Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger.
