About Program

“The land of a thousand temples” boasts lush green jungles, aquamarine ocean, and unforgettable adventure!

The ocean is calling and you must go! You will spend several days snorkeling, free diving, swimming, and enjoying some of the world’s most beautiful water and beaches. You’ll visit majestic Hindu temples, bike through vibrant, green rice paddies, and soak in the unique culture of this country as you wander through colorful street markets. Test your grit hiking a volcano, relax at the base of an incredible waterfall, and spend some nights stargazing and sleeping in an overwater bungalow. You’ll take yoga classes and learn to make authentic Indonesian cuisine from some of the very best chefs and fall in love with the kind, gentle, polite people of these beautiful islands.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here. Learn more about how Travel For Youth is promoting ethical volunteering.

Program Impact

The world’s coral reefs are dying at an alarming rate. 50-70% of the oxygen you breathe comes from the ocean. Yep, it’s true! We love trees, but it’s the ocean that is keeping you alive.

Coral reefs are also the foundation of the entire health and ecosystems of the ocean—without them, marine life cannot exist. And without marine life, we are in trouble; over half a billion people depend on reefs for food, income, and protection. As you volunteer, you will learn more about what you can do, even from home, to help save our reef and oceans.
