About Program
The Las Piedras Amazon Center protects 4,460 of intact rainforest from illegal logging, mining and hunting. Ensuring the safety of such a large area requires the efforts of patrolling rangers. Volunteer rangers will the perimeter of the concession and experience the deepest, most remote areas in LPAC. They will monitor the health of the forest, report incidents of illegal activities, maintain trails and signage, and foster cooperative relationships with locals. Rangers' efforts help ARCAmazon determine which threats are active, where to locate these threats and how best to prevent them.
