About Program
lowernine.org is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Rebuild Intern. The individual should possess a strong desire to learn about the nonprofit sector and long-term disaster recovery, and an eagerness to increase their carpentry/building skills. The Rebuild Intern works with our Project Manager.
The intern will take ownership of and assist with strengthening our warehouse organization and procedures. This includes organization and upkeep of tool sheds and warehouse and creating and managing an inventory of tools. The intern should also be available to lead crews on worksites on occasion and possess at least a basic knowledge of rebuilding concepts and steps. They will be responsible for analyzing whether broken tools and equipment should be repaired or replaced, as well as creating a worksite checklist to help site leaders organize tools. They will assist the Project Manager with intake and site assessments for clients, as well as with allocation of volunteer labor.

Program Highlights
- Hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm Tuesday through Saturday.
- This position is unpaid. Free room and board available for interns willing to commit to 10 weeks or more. Students may obtain course credit.
- Rebuild interns are expected to have a working knowledge of rebuild skills, as well as familiarity with tools and their functions, but will be able to further improve and develop these skills.
