Internship/Adventure

My internship in Vietnam was like a big adventure! I got to dive into the world of marketing in a country full of energy and color. Every day was different and exciting. I worked in Ho Chi Minh City, where life never seemed to slow down. My job wasn't just sitting in an office; it was about exploring the city, meeting new people, and learning as much as I could. One of the coolest things was working with a startup trying to change how people get their food delivered. We brainstormed ideas, made plans, and saw our ideas come to life. It was amazing to see how passionate and determined Vietnamese entrepreneurs are. Thank you AIP team for making this possible.

Xin chào Vietnam!

I was really lucky to do an internship in Vietnam last year. AIP was super supportive, and I met awesome people during the internship and at social events. Ho Chi Mihn quickly felt like home, and I made lifelong friends. It helped me grow personally and gain professional experience. No regrets, and I wish I could do it all again. I recommend this program to anyone who wants to travel and work professionally. This experience taught me that anything is possible, and you should grab every opportunity.

What was your funniest moment?
I was trying to vlog my meal and I mispronounce a word in vietnamese. Everyone inside the restaurant were looking at me but the person next to my table was very friendly that she corrected and taught me the right tone to say it.
Pros
  • Very affordable coffee
  • Food is the best
Cons
  • It can get really hot during summer

A gem of a country!

When people think of Vietnam, a lot of them think about the sad history. Yet, while I am a firm believer in never forgetting the past, we really should celebrate Vietnam for its true beauty!

Vietnam has always intrigued me because of its history, it’s one of the reasons why I wanted to visit it. When I arrived I got distracted by how hectic Ho Chi Minh City was at first but that is not my point. I saw just how friendly and happy people were so that kind of hit me, how such a beautiful country could have such a dark past.

But enough about history, I want to share with all of you my time in Vietnam. So I did a 4 month internship at a Non-profit company and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. The internship challenged me but it also made me grow so much both professionally and personally. It made me understand the bigger picture and how not everyone is as privileged and lucky.

The internship was extremely rewarding because I felt like I was able to make a difference somehow. The whole 4 months, I truly believe that I have grown a lot and I am so happy that I did it. Thank you, AIP for making this possible and a special thank you to my colleagues who have inspired me to be better!

Great traveling experience!

I actually finished my internship last year before all traveling experience for everyone fell apart, so I'm very grateful for a fruitful experience that I had in Vietnam. I've been around Asia before so this was not a culture shock experience for me which made this trip so much more fun. Though, I want to thank AIP for giving me this experience! I went through with other internship providers before and AIP is definitely up there as one of the best that I've joined. I'm looking to do more internships with other providers to give my reviews on them so that you all can be prepared!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
The amount of motorcycles Vietnamese people own! I've pretty sure each house owns at least 3 motorcycles of their own. Really weird but cool!

Good internship experience

I did an internship in business development, with prior experience in business administration in university. I chose Vietnam because I loved the culture, food, and all of the historical landscapes.

I was a bit confused during the first month, since this is my first regular internship. Nonetheless, my mentors were extremely understanding and taught me how to contact clients in the best way possible. I enjoyed my internship but I thought the experience was even more worthwhile. Getting to immerse myself into a professional working environment was extremely valuable for me.

What would you improve about this program?
Make it more interactive towards a younger target audience.

Worthwhile experience in Vietnam

I'm glad I left my house and actually made my summer really productive.

I just recently finished my degree in Business Management and I actually thought I'd be sitting in my house for the whole 2 months. To be honest, I've always been hesitant to do things outside my comfort zone because that's just how I was growing up. If it wasn't for my dad forcing me and finding me AIP, I would have never left my house.

To be honest, it was because of AIP that I finally decided to go through with an internship abroad. During the initial interview, I was greeted and welcomed by my now point-of-contact, Dennis, and basically felt comfortable and confident about this decision to get out of my shell. He guided me through the whole process and made sure everything was in place to smoothen the placement process.

Long story short, I ended up going to Vietnam, I made a ton of new friends, and I actually met someone that I'm kind of talking to right now *fingers crossed*. The whole experience was seriously life-changing and I actually made plans to come back to Vietnam this coming Christmas, I'm sure that's going to be amazing as well.

All in all, the recommended program, would do it again in a heartbeat.

What was your funniest moment?
I went to the mall one day and picked out some clothes only to find out that I didn't bring any money, super embarrassing but whatever.
