Seville, Spain

My time in Seville with CEA CAPA was the best experience of my life! I was hesitant about going abroad, as I had never been to Europe and was slightly nervous to go overseas alone. The pre-departure process was extremely smooth, and the CEA CAPA team checked in weekly to make sure I had been doing all of the necessary things! Once I arrived at the airport, I was picked up and taken to another group of students. These other students became some of my best friends on the trip, and I can thank CEA CAPA for this. Throughout my experience, I learned so much about not only Spain and my coursework, but also about myself! It truly was an essential time of independence, and I would not trade it for anything.

Pros
  • Friends
  • Coursework

Cannot Recommend Amsterdam Enough!

I am so grateful for my time in Amsterdam with CEA CAPA; the whole thing was such a dream. I enrolled in the program to finish my psychology minor, which was a discipline I had begun to fall out of love with (it often begins to feel rather technical and cold), but taking a class with CEA CAPA's university partner entirely reminded me why I was interested in the field to begin with--for the betterment of lives. Every day I sat next to someone from a different country, and our conversations about what constitutes humanity reached a great depth between the sorts of experiences we have alike and otherwise. Amsterdam itself is so remarkable as well; it has a charm entirely its own. With this program, students stay in the Zuid district (which is more on the business side of things than Amsterdam's iconic old town) which creates a really nice balance between the bustle of the more famous part of the city and the upscale district where the university is (the program directors taught us how to use the metro; we would take it into Centrum whenever we wanted to after class). I cannot express enough: I really really loved my time here. I hope you get the chance to miss it as much as I do now; it is such a gift!

Pros
  • Super friendly and helpful staff on all ends of the program
  • Incredible academic partnership
  • Beautiful, vibrant city at your fingertips

The best college experience

Studying abroad in Madrid with CEA CAPA is the best choice I made when looking to study abroad. The staff created a low-stress experience by giving each student the tips and tricks to make Madrid feel like home. The program gave numerous opportunities to explore the city with guided tours, trips to different cities, dance classes, cooking classes, and sports games. My favorite excursion was a three-day overnight trip to Seville with the other students in the program. The friendships I made throughout the trip are relationships I will cherish forever.

Pros
  • Multiple housing options
  • Helpful staff
  • Excursions included in education abroad program rate
What other participants should know
  • You will wish you were staying for longer

CEA CAPA Paris Programme

The academics at CEA CAPA Paris were not very challenging but were interesting and fulfilling. I enjoyed all of my classes, looked forward to going to school every day, and am grateful for the opportunities to learn outside of the classroom. CEA also helped immensely in pairing me with a wonderful host family. I was able to connect very well with the local culture through my host family, through CEA CAPA activities and excursions and through my own exploration. Overall, it was a great experience.

Very rewarding cultural, educational, and personal experience

My program took place in Carraroe, Ireland, a town just outside of the city of Galway. This program was the perfect fit for me because it granted me several new experiences. I was immersed in a rural lifestyle, along with a new language and culture, and able to meet and connect with many different kinds of people. CEA CAPA is truly there for you through every step of studying abroad, from when you begin the application to when you're in the midst of the program and beyond. They encourage new experiences and foster independence while always granting you the support you need. I lived in a homestay during my program, so I felt that I was able to easily engage with the local community by getting to know my host family and hearing their stories. I also became good friends with the other students and we would organize fun excursions along with the several trips that CEA provides. Those excursions helped me explore places I would have never thought to visit and learn so much more about the history and beauty of Ireland. For academics, I took an Irish Language and Culture class. Although I had no prior knowledge of Irish, I found the course fascinating and so informative. I was able to practice my Irish with the locals at places like the grocery store or restaurants. Overall, my time abroad left me with lifelong friends from around the world and more confident in myself and my studies. It was an experience that will stick with me forever.

CEA CAPA Madrid Spain

I had a great time studying in Madrid with CEA CAPA. From my visa application to all the activities and events once on-site, CEA CAPA staff was helpful in every step of the process. I would especially recommend the Madrid Campus, as the on-site staff planned wonderful weekend trips as part of the experience and made sure I was comfortable and safe during my time there. All of my professors at my school abroad were extremely kind and welcoming and helped make my learning experiences as an international student learning another language even better.

CEA CAPA Education Abroad: French Riveria

Oh my goodness -- this experience was so transformative. From my arrival in France to my departure the CEA staff was incredible. They were supportive, encouraging, informative, thorough, and fun! Antibes, my home there, was dreamy, quaint, and safe. It was the absolute perfect location in France. It was right on the beach, with a view of the French Alps. Italy was a one hour train ride away, and Paris was a five hour train ride away. The food was incredible, the locals were kind, and the school was so educational. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the French Riviera and my study abroad experience there.

Pros
  • Beautiful sights
  • Safe location
  • Amazing food

An experience I will never forget...

As a Political Science major, I wanted to study something that correlated with my interests. After some research, I saw that Amsterdam offered an International Criminal Justice course and decided that this was the trip for me. The city was vibrant, welcoming, and a place I was able to call home very quickly. Fortunately, English is widely spoken throughout the entire country. The main source of travel for many locals is public transportation and biking. The public transportation becomes very easy to figure out, but make sure you are always watching out for bikers! If you decide to rent a bike for your stay, make sure you are pretty proficient and know your way around. In regards to class, the professors were very experienced in their field of study and had amazing credentials. Make sure you are attending class and are aware that the Dutch education system is pretty rigorous.

Pros
  • The staff and locals were so kind and made everyone feel comfortable
  • The city is easy to maneuver
  • English is widely spoken
What other participants should know
  • Professors can grade harshly and may lack sympathy
Response from CEA CAPA Education Abroad

Hi Melisa! Thanks for sharing your experience connecting to Amsterdam and your tips and advice as well. It sounds like you had a wonderful time there!

Loved Madrid!

Studying with CEA CAPA in Madrid, Spain was the highlight of my summer! While taking a Spanish language and cultural class I was able to perfectly balance my student life. Madrid’s slow/relaxed lifestyle made my time enjoyable. I was able to explore a lot of the local parks, museums, cafes because they were minutes away from the school and my Residencia. By also living in the city I could enjoy the beautiful nightlife Madrid has to offer! Being a solo traveler, I was very thankful to the amazing staff of CEA CAPA whom provided me with a lot of helpful tips and suggestions of places to see and things to do.
