LTL Language School Reviews

I studied Mandarin in LTL Chengdu for around 2 months starting with no prior knowledge of the language. But after my time here studying with Guo Xin Yue in one-on-one lessons, I have built a strong foundation in the language and can now communicate with other Chinese people and experience rapid progress in continuing to learn the language. Another aspect of LTL that I enjoyed was that there was a good balance between studying and also exploring and learning about the area, with people like Ying laoshi, Ilaria, Giulia, and others being responsible. I would recommend LTL for anyone who is interested in learning and immersing themselves in the language.

I absolutely loved my time at LTL in Taipei.

The whole team made my 2 week an unforgettable experience - from my fantastic teacher Bo Ruei to social organiser extraordinaire Sunny and the amazing Riona - everyone put so much effort in to making sure I felt welcomed, was enjoying my studies and had a great environment in which to meet and make friends.

The beginner group classes were really fun and engaging, with studies progressing at a manageable but still challenging pace. Bo Ruei was such a great teacher and I am very grateful to have spent my 2 weeks with him!

I also opted for the home stay option which I would highly recommend for a fully immersive experience. My home stay ‘aunties’ were so welcoming and caring and taught me lots about Taiwanese culture - I particularly enjoyed watching our nightly C-drama shows!

A huge thank you to everyone at LTL and my home stay family for making my stay in Taiwan so memorable. Hopefully I’ll be back again!

I had a great time over 2 weeks in Chengdu with LTL. Panpan is a great teacher who helped tailor the lessons according to my level and interests. She is very kind in explaining any confusion and corrects my mistakes in grammar and pronunciation. She also gives great suggestion of the activities and sightseeing spots around Chengdu. Ying laoshi helped me well with onboarding, and I was well accommodated upon arrival. Giulia and Alex also brought me around Chengdu after class to watch Sichuan opera and try local cuisine.

Today I finished my 4 week study program in Kunming and i must say it really exceeded my expectations! The city itself is very relaxed, the temperature is comfortable and the scenery here is stunning. Aside from that the LTL staff as well as Host family I have stayed with made a positive impression on me and I am really satisfied. My 1 on 1 teacher 董老师 proved herself to be very competent. I had achieved my set language level easily within the time frame. She seemed to always know what I my strengths and weaknesses are and created a personalized learning program for me. Not only was she a good teacher but she also showed me different local hotspots I would have never experienced and visited without her help. I‘d also like to thank Savannah and Alex K. for taking care of me and my wellbeing throughout my stay in Kunming!! It was really refreshing to get to know the Kunming LTL staff. I would totally recommend this program for anyone who is interested in learning chinese, good food and a wonderful city! 10/10 experience!!

It was my second trip to China, but the first to such a large city.
At first, I was afraid I’d feel lost (which I did, a little), but in the end, I had a lot of fun.
I made more progress in Chinese during these four weeks than during my three years at university.
I would particularly like to thank my two teachers, Anna and Jamie, who were amazing!
It was easy to chat with them. They suggested ideas for things to do, TV series to watch...
This trip made me want not to give up on Chinese, but rather to perfect it.

I spent three weeks in Chengdu and had such a good experience. Starting with the pre-arrival call with Ying 老师， everyone was super friendly and helped whenever they could: my suitcase was lost by the airplane and Ying as well as my teacher Panpan helped getting it back. Also, the team helped me book tennis lessons and had a lot of tips for exploring Sichuan (thank you @Ying @Panpan @Guilia @Ilaria).
Regarding the lessons: I had group lessons with Panpan, the class was very small (3 to 5 students) and Panpan is an amazing teacher (and great dancer and cat mom:)) and so much fun! Not only did I learn a lot, we also had such a good time in- and outside of class. Shoutout to Alex and Stiles as well :)

The best part of my experience at LTL was the teachers. I feel incredibly lucky to have been taught by 盼盼老师, 陈鑫老师, and Joan老师 during my eight weeks in Chengdu.

When I first arrived, 盼盼老师, 陈鑫老师, and Ying老师 were incredibly warm and welcoming. It was my first experience living abroad, and I was quite anxious about moving to a new country and adapting to a completely different environment. Their kindness, patience, and generosity made such a difference. They helped me feel comfortable from the very beginning and played a huge role in helping Chengdu start to feel like home.

Throughout my eight weeks, I saw a significant improvement in my Chinese, and I have my teachers to thank for that. Their classes were not only effective, but also engaging and tailored to my level and interests. They created an environment where I felt comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and pushing myself to speak more Chinese. I particularly appreciated how they went beyond simply teaching vocabulary and grammar and helped me understand how Chinese is actually used in everyday life.
盼盼老师 and 陈鑫老师 were both incredibly supportive throughout my time at LTL. Their encouragement gave me much more confidence in my Chinese, and I genuinely looked forward to our classes each day. I am especially grateful for how much care they put into helping me improve, both inside and outside the classroom.

Joan老师 only taught me for a shorter period of time, but she was equally kind, generous, and encouraging. She made a wonderful impression on me in the time we had together, and I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from her.

I would also love to give a special shoutout to Stiles, who joined some of my Safari classes! She made a real impact on my experience in Chengdu and brought so much energy and enthusiasm to our activities.

Overall, I could not have asked for a better group of teachers during my eight weeks in Chengdu. I left Chengdu with much stronger Chinese skills, much more confidence, and so many wonderful memories. I am incredibly grateful to all of them for making my time at LTL so special.

I really liked my one week of language School LTL. I learned and practiced a lot. And my teacher Alex and her collegeues Wuyi and Panpan were so helpful and we had so much fun. I also learned many things about their daily culture during the lessons. Even in the breaks all students and teachers spoke chinese so you can also practice it in daily conversation with familiar people. And it was also easy to meet other students, also during the after class activities. The school is in a nicr area with many shoppingmalls.

I attended the language school for one week in May, and looking back, it was much more than just a language course – it was a really great experience.

Even before arriving in China, I felt very well prepared and supported by the school. They provided me with lots of useful information and helpful tips for my trip and stay, and there was always someone available via WeChat whenever I had questions. Everything was very well organized from the beginning.

I chose to stay with a local host family, which turned out to be one of the highlights of my stay. My host family was incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful, and they really made me feel at home from the first day.

My classes consisted of a small group session with around 5–6 students, followed by 2–3 hours of private lessons. I really enjoyed both formats and learned a lot, even though I was only there for a week. I especially liked the combination of learning together in a group and then having more intensive one-on-one lessons.

The experience outside the classroom was great as well. The group activities were well organized, everyone was very friendly, and newcomers were immediately welcomed and included. It was very easy to meet people and feel part of the group.

My only regret is that I stayed for just one week! 😄 I honestly would have loved to stay longer.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a great combination of learning Chinese, experiencing everyday life in China, and meeting new people. I would definitely do it again – next time, I would just stay much longer!

I loved this experience. The teachers helped spread joy among us, and the staff worked together to help us fully get to know the city, giving us unforgettable moments.
