Before coming to study at LTL, as a heritage speaker I could have simple conversations, but could hardly read/write. I chose LTL because of the opportunities for intensive classes and activities to interact with other students and natives. I only studied here for 3 weeks, but I think my Vietnamese has improved immensely, giving me the foundation to continue my studies back home. I am deeply appreciative of my teacher, John, who challenged and pushed me. My class was exclusively in Vietnamese and that helped greatly with immersion. I recommend LTL to anyone coming to Saigon to study Vietnamese!

I studied at LTL Language School Osaka for 3 weeks from July-mid August 2026 and had an unforgettable time, it exceeded my expectations immensely. I opted in for the half-board Homestay accommodation alongside my lesson plan, which was a great choice and my speaking ability improved so much from daily interactions with the host family. My objective was to improve my reading and writing skills on Hiragana and Katakana and learn some Kanji, while mainly focusing on improving my speaking ability and confidence. The lesson structure was flexible to accommodate my needs and I had lessons with 6 different teachers and I genuinely enjoyed every lesson! The teachers are relaxed and authentic in their approach to getting to know you as a student and understanding your requirements, and there were many times when I was talking to them about shared experiences so comfortably that I forgot I was actually speaking Japanese with them! I was given the Tobira Intermediate textbook on arrival, which definitely challenged me. I also had multiple Kanji tests to assess my progress; which in turn made me motivated to work hard and study Kanji, the area I'm weakest in. The school director Hiyori-San works hard to organise multiple socials every week for the students to get to know eachother, and I've made some great friends through this experience. Special mention to my senseitachi Hiroko Nishioka-San, who taught me multiple times and was very kind and instructive! Also to Junichi Seukane-San, with whom I had fun discussing Japanese Philosophy and Religion, and Naomi Miyai-San, who taught me on my very last day but left a lasting impression on me. The lessons were so much more than Japanese grammar and language, and I was able to have many interesting conversations about Japanese society and culture with all of them. I am overjoyed to have graduated with a B1 qualification, and I'm more motivated than ever to keep learning Japanese. I definitely recommend LTL Osaka to anyone looking for a Japanese language school. Thank you for the excellent service!

So I spent four months at LTL School, doing their semester program, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Those four months flew by, but they were absolutely packed with fun, learning, and so many good memories. I had an awesome time, and I am not just saying that. It was genuinely a fantastic experience from start to finish.

One thing I really loved was how many activities the school organized for us. They were always planning something new, and it gave us so many chances to meet different students. You know how it can be hard to break the ice when you are in a new place? Well, LTL made it super easy. Through these activities, I got to know people from all over the world, and also made some really close local friends. The best part was that these events helped us connect on a deeper level with both the local community and our classmates. It was not just small talk. We actually bonded over shared experiences, which made everything feel much more meaningful.

The activities themselves were really diverse too. One week we would be doing something related to traditional Chinese culture, like calligraphy or paper cutting, and the next week we would be trying out local street food or cooking some classic Chinese dishes. Our teaching supervisor, Savannah, was the one who always came up with these cool ideas. She really put a lot of thought into making sure we had fun while also learning something new. I still remember the time she took us to a night market and made us order food in Chinese. It was both scary and hilarious, but I learned so much from it.

Now let me talk about my classes. My teacher was Teacher Yang, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was super professional, but also very patient and warm. She had this amazing way of making every single class lively and interesting, using all sorts of creative methods. We were always laughing in class, and that made learning feel less like a chore and more like a fun chat with a friend. What I appreciated the most was that she customized the lessons based on what I actually wanted to learn. I told her I wanted to focus on speaking and listening, so she adjusted everything accordingly. She even brought in real life materials like menus, news clips, and short videos to make the content more relevant. Because of that, I picked up so many useful phrases and expressions that I actually use every day.

My Chinese improved a lot during those months, and I think the environment played a huge role. In Beihai, almost everyone speaks Chinese to you. The locals do not really speak much English, so I was totally immersed in Mandarin all the time. Whether I was buying groceries, taking a taxi, or just hanging out at a café, I had to communicate in Chinese. At first it was intimidating, but after a while it became second nature. My listening skills got way better and I stopped translating in my head before speaking. I just said it.

Beihai itself is a beautiful coastal city. The sea is right there, and the vibe is so chill and relaxed. I spent many weekends just walking along the beach, eating fresh seafood, and watching the sunset. The air was clean and the pace of life was much slower compared to big cities like Beijing or Shanghai. It was the perfect place to focus on studying while also enjoying a laid back lifestyle. I even tried surfing a couple of times, and that was a total blast.

Looking back, I feel so grateful for everything. The school, the teachers, the activities, the friends I made, and the city itself. It was not just a language program. It was a life experience that changed me in so many ways. If anyone asks me whether they should go to LTL Beihai, I would say yes without any hesitation. You will not regret it. I promise.

A Wonderful Experience in Beihai

I am truly grateful for the wonderful time I spent in Beihai and would like to express my sincerest thanks to every aspect of this trip. From the warm homestay family to the well-organized school program and the breathtaking natural scenery, everything exceeded my expectations. This trip was not just a language learning opportunity, but a life-changing adventure that gave me new perspectives, lasting friendships, and unforgettable memories.

First of all, my homestay family was truly amazing. From day one, they warmly welcomed me and made me feel like a member of their family. We spent many quality moments together and participated in many activities that I will never forget. One of the most exciting was surfing , it was my first time on a surfboard, and they patiently taught me the basics and encouraged me to enjoy the waves instead of being afraid of them. Riding the waves under their guidance was both thrilling and exhilarating. In the evenings, we often watched movies together, shared popcorn and laughter, and discussed the plot and characters. The children in the family were energetic and adorable; we played basketball almost every day at the nearby court. Those matches were more than just sports; they were opportunities to strengthen bonds. We encouraged each other, shared new skills, and improved our game together. The family's kindness, warmth, and generosity made me feel a deep sense of belonging in a foreign land, making my stay exceptionally special.

One of the most unforgettable parts of this trip was visiting their ancestral home in rural China. Unlike the bustling city, it was a tranquil haven embraced by nature. The scenery was breathtaking,lush green mountains stretched gently into the distance, crystal-clear streams meandered through the valleys, and a tranquil reservoir reflected the sky like a perfect mirror. The air was fresh and clean, and the sounds of birdsong and flowing water blended into a soothing natural melody. We took long walks along the reservoir, and I even tried fishing with my family for the first time. The scenery was picturesque, and I couldn't resist taking photos every few minutes. This experience allowed me to deeply appreciate the charm of China's natural beauty and gave me a rare glimpse into authentic rural life, a refreshing contrast to my accustomed fast-paced city life.

Next, I'd like to talk about the school,Beihai School which is equally impressive and professionally managed. The teaching team truly listens to each student's needs and tailors the curriculum accordingly. Whether I wanted to focus on improving my spoken fluency, grammar accuracy, or writing skills, they adjusted the course content to fit my individual goals. Homework assignments were meaningful, reinforcing classroom learning, and teachers provided detailed and constructive feedback on each assignment. What I appreciated most was the class recording system,they recorded the key points, vocabulary, and grammar structures of each lesson and shared them with us promptly, allowing me to review them anytime and never fall behind. The teachers' explanations were always clear, patient, and easy to understand, greatly boosting my confidence. The entire program was exceptionally well-organized, from the daily schedule to extracurricular activities and weekend outings. A perfect balance was struck between study and leisure, ensuring we learned effectively while also having ample time to relax and enjoy life.

Furthermore, the administrative team, especially the sales department, performed admirably in every aspect. Whether via email or instant messaging, they responded to my inquiries almost instantly, never keeping me waiting. Before I even arrived, they answered all my questions about the program, accommodation, transportation, and even local customs with remarkable clarity and patience. Throughout my studies, they followed up regularly to ensure everything went smooth

To anyone who wants to start learning Chinese, I would definitely recommend LTL as a great place to start. I spent three weeks there with no prior experience with the language, and even in that relatively short time, I was able to make quite a bit of progress.

The school uses the book series *A Course in Contemporary Chinese*, which is the official textbook from NTNU. To make the most of my time there, I chose the 30+10 plan, which included four hours of group classes in the morning and two hours of one-on-one classes in the afternoon.

In the morning classes, I had Sabrina and Jane as my teachers. They are both lovely teachers who made learning Chinese a lot of fun and created a really enjoyable atmosphere in class. In the afternoon, I had Ray, who was also an absolutely wonderful teacher. I really benefited from both types of classes and would highly recommend combining group and one-on-one lessons if you want to make as much progress as possible.

On my first day, I didn't know many people yet, so I decided to join the school for lunch. Riona and Sunny regularly organise lunches at places nearby, and they were both great organisers throughout my time there. It was a really easy way to meet other students and get to know people at the school.

There are also plenty of activities you can join outside of class. If you enjoy things like mahjong or umbrella painting, you can easily take part. Sometimes the school also offers more special activities outside of the school, so I would definitely recommend keeping an eye out for those as well.

The school is in a great location, especially if you want to explore Taipei. You are very close to Taipei 101 and Elephant Mountain, and if you want to explore further afield, Taipei's MRT system makes it easy to get almost anywhere in the city.

Overall, I had a really positive experience at LTL. Three weeks went by incredibly quickly, and I would definitely recommend the school to anyone who wants to learn Chinese while also experiencing life in Taipei.

From July 13th to August 8th, I attended an LTL Mandarin language course as part of their full-immersion program in Kunming, China.
During my stay, I lived with a wonderful host family where I had my own private room. My host family provided me with breakfast and dinner every day. Furthermore, they often took me out to local restaurants, which allowed me to discover many authentic Yunnan dishes and delicious spices.
I took the standard 1-on-1 individual course (4 hours a day, 5 days a week). Commuting to school was very convenient: the nearest metro station was located just 1 km from my homestay—an easy, walkable distance—and the metro ride itself took only around 15 to 20 minutes. Classes took place in a modern business center where LTL rents classrooms. Every room was equipped with air conditioning or a fan, making the study environment very comfortable. My lessons usually ran from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, but I really appreciated the flexibility to adjust the schedule according to my preferences, which is ideal for anyone who prefers starting later in the day.
For instance, a fellow student had her classes scheduled in the afternoon from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. On some days, lessons even took place in other locations, such as quiet and cozy local cafés. From a psychological and learning perspective, this change of scenery was a huge advantage, as switching up the environment helped me stay focused and retain new vocabulary much better.
Speaking of the classes, I was extremely satisfied with the teaching quality. I was able to learn a tremendous amount thanks to my teacher, Yumi. She was always well prepared, professional, and created a warm, encouraging atmosphere. Yumi practiced Chinese characters, speaking, and reading comprehension with me. She also shared valuable cultural context for various topics, which helped me understand the language on a much deeper level.
Outside the classroom, LTL organized fantastic extracurricular activities for students. Savannah, the head of the Kunming branch, arranged diverse events such as authentic Kung Fu training, a trip to the famous Flower Market, cinema outings, and traditional bracelet making. I truly appreciated the friendly and welcoming vibe; Savannah treated all of us like friends rather than just students, making everyone feel relaxed and at home. Additionally, whenever new students arrived in Kunming, the staff hosted a welcome lunch so everyone could easily connect with the newcomers.
Kunming is an underrated, truly remarkable city for studying Chinese. Unlike megacities like Beijing or Shanghai where many people speak basic English, very few locals in Kunming speak English. This makes it the ultimate environment for a full-immersion program. The locals are warm, easygoing, and thrilled when they hear a foreigner speaking Chinese. They often strike up small talk, which helps immensely with building real-world fluency. For example, I got along great with the Kung Fu master whom I met during one of the after-class activities.
Overall, I am thoroughly satisfied with my experience at LTL Kunming. I learned a huge amount of new things, boosted my language skills, and met amazing people. If you are looking for high-quality language teaching, dedicated staff, and an unforgettable adventure in China, I wholeheartedly recommend LTL in Kunming!

My experience with LTL in Beihai

I have had a very good experience studying Mandarin at LTL in Beihai. I think the school is very suitable for those who want to learn Chinese effectively and at the same time gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and everyday life.

What I appreciate most about the school is how committed, patient and good the teachers are. They adapt the teaching to the student's level and needs. I have had both private lessons and group lessons. Both have different advantages. I get a lot of opportunity to speak and practice Mandarin. The teachers have a good idea of ​​how fast we are progressing and can adjust the pace when needed. This makes the teaching feel personal and allows me to focus on the areas I need to practice the most. I think it is a great advantage not to just follow a fixed pace and schedule, but that the teaching is actually adapted to me.

Another great advantage of LTL in Beihai is that the environment is very immersive. There are hardly any foreigners outside the school, which means that I am constantly in a Chinese-speaking environment. I therefore need to use Mandarin in everyday life. When I shop, order food, meet people or do other things and activities. I get the opportunity to use what I learn in the lessons. I think it makes a big difference to my language development because I get a lot of natural practice outside of school too.

Another thing I really like is the opportunity to meet other students at school. During breaks you can talk to students from other countries and get to know people with different backgrounds and cultures. It makes the time at school more social and fun. It is also motivating to talk to other students who are in the same situation, who are also trying to learn Mandarin.

LTL also organizes various activities where you get the opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture together with other students. I think this is a very good complement to the language studies. Experiencing the culture on site makes it easier to understand the language and how it is used in everyday life. The activities give you a chance to do things outside the classroom and get a more complete experience of life in China.

I also live with a host family during my stay in Beihai. The family is very kind and I feel that it helps me a lot in my learning of Mandarin. They treat me like a family member, which I really appreciate. By living with a Chinese family, I get the opportunity to hear and use Mandarin outside of school. This means that I get more natural practice in everyday situations and dare to use the language more. I also get a better understanding of what everyday life is like in a Chinese family, learning words and expressions that I might not come across in textbooks and the classroom.

I find that the combination of lessons, an immersive environment and living with a host family is particularly good for my language studies. In the lessons, I get structured instruction and can focus on the areas where I need to develop the most. Outside of school, I then have the opportunity to use what I have learned in real-life situations.

In summary, I am very satisfied with my time at LTL in Beihai. The teachers are patient and flexible, the individually tailored lessons, the immersive environment, the opportunity to meet other students and the school's cultural activities make the experience both educational and fun. Furthermore, living with a host family gives me even more opportunities to use Mandarin in everyday situations. I would definitely recommend LTL to others who want to learn Mandarin and at the same time experience Chinese culture and everyday life up close.

I attended this school for a month, and it was absolutely wonderful! Vietnamese pronunciation and intonation can be quite challenging, but the teacher explained things so clearly that I was able to pick up vocabulary relatively quickly. Its location in Ho Chi Minh City made it easy to get to various tourist spots. The food in Vietnam is delicious, and I think it’s a great place for Japanese people to study abroad. If you're planning to study in Vietnam, I highly recommend this school! It was a truly valuable experience. Thank you so much!

I was a student here for four weeks, and signed up for group classes. However, they didn’t have other students at my skill level entering at the same time, so they converted my classes into two hours of private tutoring, a compromise I was more than satisfied with. I found my teacher, Juan Tang, to be knowledgeable, kind, and overachieving in teaching. She brought games, changed her curriculum to suit my needs, and answered questions outside of school hours. Besides that, she was kind, enthusiastic, and very encouraging, even going so far as to give me a gift in our final lesson! Besides the teaching, the location is excellent, the admin organized, and the community warm. The students are varied and international, with weekly, always changing activities.

I chose LTL Chengdu and came here for two weeks only - sadly, because it should have been longer!
I got the Homestay option and the Survival Kit. My homestay host was very welcoming and I enjoyed my time with her and her pets.
I had 1on1 classes everyday, two classes per day. The school was very nice, there is a common area for all students. I had classes with teacher Guo Xinyue, who was really kind, and classes with her were a pleasure. The teaching materials were probided by the school, and the teacher explained everything in an understandable way.
The school organized social activities - I personally did not participate because I wanted to explore the city, but it was an option.
For most of my sightseeing I used the recommendations provided by LTL.
In short, I had a great time and everything was very professional!
