My Story (我的 故事)

Only 2 weeks ago I arrived in Cheng Du (成 都) Airport with some trepidation.

After two weeks of Chinese language classes, I am very happy with my experience. The way the lessons are taught, as well as the content of the learning book were far more than I expected. The book selected matched my needs and lessons didn’t just focus on learning the language, but also on useful expressions and situations that can be applied in everyday life.

Content learned was used almost daily to speak to hotel staff, and to nearby shop attendants.
Much credit must go to my teacher (老师) Miss Styles who executed classes brilliantly answering all my questions.

Credit must also go to the administration with Miss Ilaria Minopoli and Ms Ying Fang who arranged everything else.

The practical approach has made learning Chinese both enjoyable and meaningful, and for me wanting to learn more. I take with me a reading book gifted (礼物) to me,and some fond memories.

I just spent a week at LTL Chengdu and had a great time. We were 6 people in our class, and the level and speed of the lessons was well paced, with great insights into local culture from our teacher Wu Yi. The lessons were entertaining and fun.

I was well placed at my level. Before this, I was just at the end of HSK 3, so this was my start into HSK 4. It was very useful for me to already have learned/seen a lot of the vocabulary beforehand, which I would recommend to get most out of the lessons. My lessons focused on HSK 4 entry level. We worked based on a modern conversational Chinese book, going through the vocabulary and lessons, and also practiced the dialogues. We also got homework too, which we could complete to further strengthen our Chinese and raise our level.

Writing the characters was not a specific requirement for doing the course, which was good for me personally, since the focus was more on understanding and speaking Chinese. I really enjoyed the insights Wu Yi gave us on the local culture and important words that one just cannot learn from a book. Without him the lessons would not have been the same.

Overall it was a great experience, and I am glad I had Wu Yi as my teacher.

From September 21 to October 9 I attended a small Chinese class at LTL in Beijing. It was really a great experience!
In the morning, in a small group, I learned about several topics. The grammar and the vocabulary were introduced by Summer Wang, our teacher. She did a truly outstanding job. She was well prepared, spoke excellent English, challenged us and encouraged us to speak.
In the afternoon I had one-on-one lessons with Snow Yang. I talked a lot with her and learned a great deal, not only about the language but also about the culture. Thanks to her empathetic, flexible and funny personality, we had great conversations. And I even learned to write some Chinese characters.
I would like to thank the whole LTL team in Beijing for a wonderful time!

As a 31-year-old, I wasn’t sure what to expect from returning to language learning, but this school has been a great experience. What stands out most is how flexible it is. The structure adapts to your needs without becoming a “free for all”: there’s a good balance between room to shape your own learning and enough guidance to keep you progressing.
I also stayed with a host family, which made the experience much more immersive. Living with locals gave me daily practice outside the classroom.
Feedback is genuinely encouraged here. The staff invite you to share what’s working and what isn’t, and that openness makes a real difference. Many hold back and then complain privately once they’re frustrated, but here the environment asks you to speak up, and problems get addressed almost immediately!
The teachers are quick to ask what you need and adjust accordingly, often so smoothly you barely notice.
Special thanks to Suekane Junichi, Kozen Norikazu, Kagawa Miyoko, Watanabe Ayumi and Nobori Saki, who read the room, spot where you’re struggling, and adapt on the fly, even in group classes.
I’d recommend this school to anyone who wants a learning experience that is both adaptable and genuinely responsive to its students.

From 9/13 to 9/25 2026 I attended the A2-class in a small gruop at LTL - four students in the first week, three in the second. Our teacher, Alice He, did a great job answering all our questions and focus on the skills we needed to improve the most. My Chinese speaking skills definitely improved. I also enjoyed the lighthearted atmosphere - the staff was always ready to help, ready for a chat concerning life and challenges in Beijing.
Linda organized great events - the Ditan book market and the sketching lessons were highlights.
Rita accompanied me on several afternoons: 798, the tea museum, and her home were great possibilites to learn about life in China.
All in all a clear recommendation for anyone at any age who wants to learn Chinese in Beijing.

I studied at LTL Chengdu for 3 months and had Panpan as my teacher. We had 4 hours of one-on-one class everyday.

Panpan is very cultured and understands english extremely well so it was easy to understand when she would translate and explain Chinese words, phrases, idioms, or even 抖音videos.

Before I came to Chengdu, Panpan went out of her way to scout apartments for me to move in to. She is not only a good teacher but also a really good friend. She would always invite me to go out with her friends or other students who eventually became my friends. She always recommended something fun for the weekend and her knowledge on places to visit is top tier. She is also really funny and can get along with anybody!

The teachers are awesome and have really good english. Panpan, Chenxin, Ying, Stiles, and Wuyi are some teachers at LTL Chengdu who made my learning experience as fun and enjoyable as it was.

I started my Korean 1-on-1 lessons on September 14, 2026 for two weeks, and I had a wonderful experience at LTL school, which was recommended by my daughter, Catherine. The school is very nice, well-organized, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Manuel Saldana and Sebastian for the warm welcome and everyone else was very friendly. I would definitely recommend Ms. Soyeon G. for 1-on-1 lessons. She is understanding, patient and determined to help me succeed in learning Korean. I learned so much from her in these two weeks – from properly pronouncing vowels and consonants, to reading words and forming sentences in a short period of time. Thank you so much, Ms. Soyeon, for your patience, encouragement, and guidance.

I participated in a two week program at LTL Chengdu, and I had an amazing time while learning a lot! My instructor Wei was super friendly and dedicated, and I could not have imagined a better teacher. She tailored her instruction specifically to my goals and used real world situations to teach so I could have a more immersive and rich experience. Not only did my Chinese language skills improve, but I also learned a lot about the local culture, food, and lifestyle — things I could never get a chance to experience in a traditional classroom. I highly recommend LTL Chengdu and my teacher Wei!

I had a really great experience at this Chinese learning school! The teachers, especially Ann and Jamie, were amazing and genuinely helped me improve my Chinese. They were patient, encouraging and always willing to explain things when I didn’t understand. Their teaching made learning Chinese much more enjoyable, and I became a lot more confident in my speaking and understanding. You can tell that they really care about their students and want everyone to do well. I’m really grateful for all their help and would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to improve their Chinese!
