LTL Beihai - An excellent choice

I spent 6 weeks at LTL Beihai. My teacher, Summer, was very good. Every day we started on time and used all of the time. She speaks Mandarin very clearly and her explanations for various grammar points are also very clear and in Mandarin. There are frequent activities that are related to the area - near the sea. Many students participate in these activities The city itself is smaller and less expensive than many in China. This makes living expenses more economical than others. I strongly reccommend LTL Beihai!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
My returning train from Hong Kong was delayed a day and Ihad to spend a day in Nanning.
Pros
  • Excellent teacher
  • Inexpensive city
  • Great weather

LTL Shanghai school is a wonderful place where to learn Chinese.

My teachers Jamie and Rey are both fantastic, they helped me and my group to improve a lot from 0 knowledge of Chinese language.

The lessons are very entertained and you never feel you are not learning, they help you with any questions and doubts you find during your learning process.

I definitely recommend them and without hesitation! Thanks very much!

LTL Experience

I've overall had a great experience studying Mandarin at LTL language school! I came in with a pretty solid foundation in Mandarin, but in the last couple months I've have noticed significant improvements in my speaking ability which allow me to communicate much more effectively than I ever could before. Sabrina has been an excellent teacher for me, and Riona and Alin have been very helpful managing the front desk and organizing activities! There are activities nearly every day, most of which occur after class at the school but also including field trips to various locations around Taipei.

Come to LTL

I’ve had a really great experience at this language school and would absolutely recommend it to anyone considering studying here. From the very beginning, everything has felt welcoming, well-organized, and genuinely focused on helping students improve quickly.

One of the things I’ve really enjoyed is how easy it is to build a routine here. For example, my teacher Jamie and I got breakfast before class to practice ordering… just a short walk from the school. The location is very convenient and makes daily life simple and enjoyable.

The teaching quality has been excellent. Jamie is especially great at explaining vocabulary in a way that really sticks, and she often incorporates mock scenarios into lessons so we can practice real-life situations. This has helped me feel much more confident using the language in practical contexts. Winnie is also fantastic—whenever we have extra time, she introduces fun and useful topics like LGBT slang, which adds a unique and inclusive dimension to the learning experience.

The staff overall are incredibly helpful and supportive. You can tell they genuinely care about the students and are always willing to assist if you have questions or need guidance.

Another big advantage is the small class size. I’m currently in a group with just one other A1-level student, which means we get a lot of personalized attention. Because of this, I feel like I’m learning very quickly and making real progress every day.

As for accommodation, I stayed in a studio apartment arranged through the school. It was okay—nothing amazing, and the kitchen wasn’t very well equipped—but it was convenient and within about 30 minutes of the school. That said, I would recommend staying in school housing initially and then looking for your own place after about a month. This gives you time to get familiar with the area and can help you save money in the long run.

Overall, my experience has been extremely positive. The combination of great teachers, supportive staff, small classes, and a convenient location makes this school a fantastic choice. If you’re thinking about learning a language here—just do it. Come to LTL!

Feel like I got a good foundation even with only a short stay

Just completed my first week at LTL with teacher Jamie and Ray and they are both doing a great job teaching the language but also explaining a lot of interesting things about the culture. Lessons never get boring and even though it is hard sometimes to implement everything you just learned, it always stays fun and the atmosphere is very nonjudgmental and supporting! I really like that they adapt to the groups needs and sometimes go off topic to explain something we were curious about and then still manage to teach us everything we had planned for the day.

LTL Chengdu Fang ying juan tang

Had a very warm welcome and the teachers Fang ying and juan tang were always very helpful and tried to teach me as much as possible. Thank you guys for everything. I completed the A1 course for a week, which gave me enough time to understand the basics. Everyone here is very helpful and there are many people from around the world, who will be very helpful. They will not only teach you the language but also help you to understand the culture better as well as the meaning behind the words. All in all a great course

Unforgettable Experience

Hey Korean Language Learners!
I originally spent 3 weeks at LTL Shanghai learning Mandarin, and had such a good experience that I decided to return to LTL, but this time in Seoul to improve my Korean. LTL Shanghai included not only classes, but a fun community of fellow students, as well as some fun activities in the evening organized by the school. This is more or less also what I expected when I signed up for another 3 week stay at LTL Seoul, but my actual experience so far has vastly exceeded my expectations.
As I’ve only had classes with one teacher, I can only speak to my experience with 다영 선생님, who makes class fun and full of laughter, but also ensures that she both challenges and supports us students when it comes to both comprehension and oral expression. Class often passes by very quickly, as there’s been a high emphasis on speaking, as opposed to the teacher simply lecturing us about the language for 4 hours. Speaking from my experience both in Shanghai and Seoul, your fellow students also tend to be very motivated, as they’re spending their time and hard earned money to make as much progress as possible in the limited time they have at school.
While the academic portion so far has been very enjoyable and effective (in 2 short weeks I’ve already seen visible progress on my goal to read Korean at a quicker, more natural pace and increase my practical vocabulary), where LTL Seoul shines the brightest is the staff, which I feel are the heart and soul of the academy. Hailee, Manuel, Sebastian, and Violet have done, and continue to do, such an amazing job welcoming us and fostering an incredible experience for all the students.
Before even arriving in Seoul, Violet would respond to various questions I had about the academic program, learning materials, and even helped to sort out accommodations (which I don’t think is even part of her responsibilities). Once I arrived in Seoul, Manuel was in constant contact with me, making sure that I knew how to get to my accommodation without getting lost, and also ensured that everything at the accommodation was prepared properly. Shortly after settling into my 고시원 (a kind of low rent, single occupancy room), Violet and Hailee took myself and other students out for a picnic on the Han River. I had been in Seoul not even 3 hours and I was already getting a nice local experience with fellow students that I probably would never have considered doing on my own. Hailee not only helped to organize events and accompany students to them while the school was looking for a new Culture Specialist. And finally, when Sebastian (the new Culture Specialist) arrived, he hit the ground running with organizing a karaoke event, getting to know the students, and planning further events according to the interests of the students.
I went to LTL Seoul expecting to have a nice time while improving my Korean a bit, but I never really thought I would seriously consider returning anytime soon. Now I’m looking at my schedule and trying to figure out if another trip this year is possible, or if I’ll have to wait until next year. In either case, I look forward to returning to LTL Seoul very soon!

Great flexibility and instructors!

I had such a great experience with LTL Taipei! I took small group classes for 4 weeks, with 1 week of extra 1-1 class. My instructors Sissi and Tammy were amazing. They were very professional, patient, and good at pacing the class according to our needs. The lesson plan felt very personalized. My group class was only me and one other student, which was ideal for balancing speaking and listening practice. My language skills definitely improved. The environment was quite international and intergenerational, and very friendly. I am longgg graduated from college, so it was nice to be in a learning environment that had a mix of undergradate, graduate, and post grad students.

Good School!

Love the experience! Everybody is so nice, the activities are fun and there are so many people from all over the world that you get to know. If you want a smaller school and small groups, this is for you. It’s not overwhelming at all and they help you with personal issues as well. So if you have any problems you can ask the staff and they are happy to help you with any Korean issues, like ARC card, housing, doctors appointment.

LTL Language School

LTL has really helped me improve my knowledge of the Chinese language and culture! Even though I started from zero, I can feel a little more confident because of them. The community is so very welcoming and we are a smaller group of people so naturally we all grow really close to each other! My current teacher, Pinwei Wang is one of the sweetest people I have met in Taiwan! When I’m around her I think “Yes, this is what it’s like to be happy”. I find a lot of love, energy, kindness, and helpfulness from her! (As well as all the other staff at LTL, specifically Riona and Alin!)

What was your funniest moment?
Teaching my 老師 Pinwei Wang the American slang "big back" !! 🤣
Pros
  • Kind and welcoming community
  • A good school to set a strong basis for the basics of the Chinese Language!
  • Overall smaller student count / group sizes so that focusing, learning, and connecting is more effective!
