I had lessons with Silk Mandarin in 2020 when I lived in Suzhou, and I actually started again but online in 2025 after not finding any providers that were as good when I moved to a new city. The teachers are amazing and they really personalize the learning experience. The lessons are very well prepared with lots of resources. I’d say the lessons are actually excellent value for money- I think I’m making very rapid progress in my Chinese learning because of laoshi Sisi and the lesson materials and homework provided. The lessons are really enjoyable. I will stay with Silk Mandarin as I continue my Chinese language learning journey.

At first, I was trying to find a Chinese course to start and just learn a little bit of it and see If I am interested in doing it for a long time, then I found Silk Mandarin and everything has gone smoothly since the beginning. I have teacher Christina and she has been so patient and helpful during this process, teaching me in different ways about grammar, vocabulary and also teaching me about the realistic things I would encounter in a normal conversation in China. It made me fall in love with the language and want to continue learning more and more, I will definitely continue with them and will recommend to anyone who is thinking on starting. There is a lot of practice, resources and guidance so you won't feel lost and it will actually make it feel easier.

My experience with Silk Mandarin was great! I tried different learning methods before, but the method of Silk Mandarin Institute is far away the best. The learning method is very interesting, helpful and unique. My teacher, Jane, is very skilful, helpful and supportive.

Silk Mandarin was highly recommended to me by a colleague and it has not disappointed. Yanqin is an extremely professional teacher who is diligent and facilitated excellent 1-on-1 online classes. The course content was fresh and very relevant for my career. Yanqin provided notes and recommendations after every class, making it easier for me to stay on track. The online classes are perfect for people learning Chinese before they travel or professionals who would like to keep improving overseas. I had a very positive experience with Silk Mandarin. Before starting the course, my Chinese was already at an intermediate level, but I felt stuck — especially with speaking fluently and preparing for HSK 6.

I initially joined a group class, but then I switched to one-to-one lessons to better fit my needs, and that made a big difference. The school was very flexible and supportive in adapting the course to my goals.

I've been struggling for a while to study Chinese - never really found anything that worked for me. I found Silk Mandarin beginning of this year and I have only been studying a month or so, but I feel excited to study now! My pronunciation and my tones were very poor, but my teacher has been so patient and she has the most interesting ways to explain, which make it easy to understand. It is really great and the best money I have spent this year! Thank you Silk Mandarin for helping me, opening the world I have been living in but haven't understood!!

After getting frustrated trying to learn Mandarin on my own, I’m really glad I found Silkmandarin. The course is very well structured, the learning platform is convenient and easy to use, and the teachers are excellent. On - and Offline courses are offered. I am french and I'm currently learning Chinese with Silk Mandarin and I'm extremely satisfied. My teacher, Yanqin, is an excellent instructor. I also find the method very effective. There are practice sessions to complete before and after each lesson to reinforce what you've learned. I've never progressed so quickly in language learning. Of course, I have two 90-minute sessions per week and I also study on my own to consolidate my knowledge. But Silk Mandarin provides all the support and guidance I need. A huge thank you again to Yanqin, my teacher!

Silk mandarin has small class sizes and great instruction to help you supercharge your Chinese language learning. I studied in Suzhou, I think it is a smaller campus. Very nice staff and great support. There were activities and events. Suzhou is smaller if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. Same quality of education.
