My six-month stay in Qingdao with XMandarin was amazing! As someone who is half Taiwanese and speaks Chinese at home, I wanted to improve my skills and focus on reading and writing. I started with group classes, but I also added private lessons to dive deeper into specific areas. I made great progress in a supportive environment.

The visa process was quick and stress-free. The school sent me all the paperwork that was needed to request the visa, which the embassy of my home country accepted without a problem. Really recommend this school!!

Hi everyone!

My name is Josephine, and I’m an 18-year-old girl from Germany. I recently graduated from an international high school and have been working as an au pair in China ever since. As part of my au pair program, I take language classes at XMandarin three times per week.

I chose this au pair program specifically for the high-quality language courses that XMandarin provides. In our lessons, we focus a lot on speaking and listening, which I think are the most important skills to learn when you first come to China. Not many Chinese people speak English, so learning Chinese as quickly as possible is a must!

The teachers are very attentive to their students; they answer any questions you have and create a welcoming learning environment in class. Even though I’ve only been taking these classes for just over a month, I can confidently say my Chinese has improved tremendously! Now, I can participate in simple conversations and understand basic sentences. Not only do you learn Chinese in the classes, but you also make many friends! The students at XMandarin are all extremely friendly. In class, we help each other, and everyone has a positive attitude.

XMandarin is located in Chengdu, known as the “park city” and also the city of the panda. The food, culture, and especially the people of Chengdu are incredibly friendly! Since XMandarin is in the city center, it’s easy to reach other parts of Chengdu after class. Often, students have lunch together and explore different places around the city.

I highly recommend XMandarin to anyone who wants an amazing language learning experience as well as a supportive learning environment! Additionally, the school assists all students in obtaining the correct visa, making it easy to enter China.

A really fun school with excellent, qualified instructors, nice, clean facilities, helpful staff.
They put up with me asking tons of questions & demanding all kinds of details before finally signing on to the courses which were given by a variety of teachers that were all very pleasant & fun!
Activities with staff were organized regularly as part of the curriculum & for low cost.
All in a very central & nice part of town, an easy walk from the metro station!

I would return again for more lessons & would definitely recommend.

It has been an incredible experience to come to China to study in XMandarin, at the beginning it can be a bit complicated if you don't speak the language as in my case but the people are very open to help you and that is something I like, also remember to be prepared when you come to study in China, because there are Apps that will be indispensable in your day to day like WeChat and Alipay, there are other Apps like for the metro and bus, but you can download them when you arrive at your destination.
You can also enjoy many activities that they organise and you can meet people from different countries.

Great school for international chinese students! The teachers and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They help you with the chinese student visa, booking flights, hotels etc.
The monthly events that the school offers are a lot of fun and are a chance to get to know the diversity of Qingdao.
The atmosphere in the school is very relaxed and comfortable, but the classes are rather small (3-6 people in my experience) which has pros and cons. The age range of the students are very wide so everyone is welcome!!
In general I would really recommend this school, because it engages you in the chinese culture, helps you with everything and offers a great learning experience!!

I had a great experience at XMandarin Language School in Qingdao. From day one, Ray and Fairy were super helpful, explaining everything clearly and always there to answer questions. The school itself has a nice break area where you can relax and chat with other students, and they offer a lot of activities outside of class, which is great for getting to know people and practicing Chinese in real situations. All the teachers and interns are friendly and do an amazing job. After three months, I can really see my progress. I’d highly recommend XMandarin if you want a supportive, fun place to learn Chinese! 🥰

I have studied Chinese at Xmandarin for 3 months now. When I arrived I barely spoke any.
The classes have proven to be fun and utterly useful and I much enjoy them. In my class there were about just 5 students on average, which was a good size I found (in summer there might be more).
My teacher is very passionate and encouraging. She taught me pinyin and many fundamental characters to use in daily life. Buying things and finding my way around town became much easier ever since. Also because I got more confident with pronouncing (tricky tones haha). The teaching contents were flexible so e.g. the students in my group can always bring up topics they are interested in. For the ones who felt their course was to hard or easy, I was offered to try out other group course, but in the end I stayed in the one I was.
The school is situated in the city center and nice restaurants of different cuisines around. Xmandarin found for me a flat and even got me a chinese phone and bank account. The other students are sociable and sometimes we do stuff in our sparetimes, like going to bars next to the school or join one of the events the school organizes (last time Christmas party). After all, I like the school very much. If you want to learn Chinese it is a nice place.

XMandarin has been a great experience for me in China. Not only have I levelled up considerately my Chinese in the period of 5 months, but I´ve also made great friends, who also happen to be teachers here. The teachers are very nice, and attentive, and care for their student´s learning progress. I started with group class, of only 4 people, which was very good because the focus was centred well on each of our learning needs. Then I decided I also wanted to combine group with a few private lessons with another teacher, as I wanted to also try and combine these two types of classes, in order to bolster my language acquisition. The location of the school is also very convenient as it is located in the centre of the city, and also it is 15 minutes walk from the seaside. There are many shops and good places to eat nearby, and also the best bars and clubs are about 5-10 minutes walk distance from the school. So living round the area is the best option when deciding to move to Qingdao.

I would say my experience studying at XMandarin, was great overall.
Before coming to China, I knew the basics of the language and had little to no chance to practice what I had learned. So when I came to XMandarin I hoped that I could get to practice a lot more in order to improve.
What I liked about the school is that they always payed attention to what my goals were regarding the language and helped me follow the right path to achieve them, and also suggested what to do in order to keep improving.
Also, in my experience the teachers that I had the opportunity to meet, were great, they were always very helpful and always tried to make the class more interesting and fun.

So taking this into account, I would definitely recommend the experience and would also consider doing it again.
