Amazing Trip to Spain and France

I had such a great experience traveling through Spain and France. Everything from the food to the locations and the people made the trip unforgettable. TFT did an amazing job balancing guidance with the freedom to explore, which made each day exciting and meaningful. I created so many awesome memories, connected with people from all over, and really grew from the experience. I would love to go again and keep exploring with TFT on future adventures. The trip opened my eyes to new cultures and helped me step out of my comfort zone. It’s something I’ll remember for a long time.

The best experience of my life!

This trip will change your life! I met the most wonderful people on this trip, got to try an abundance of new foods, the staff was amazing, and everyday was spent laughing till my stomach hurt. If I had to do this again I wouldn’t change a thing. The service projects we worked on like working with the locals, painting classrooms, and teaching kids how to surf, were so rewarding. I loved connecting with the locals. Then we spent our afternoons going on fun and adventure and exploring the nature and fun that Costa Rica has to offer. I was there for 10 days but I would have stayed as long as I could if given the chance.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
I am a super picky eater but I promised myself when I went that I would eat everything. I tried sushi, which was probably the most unfamiliar thing except maybe this amazing seafood pasta
Pros
  • Made some amazing lifelong friendships
  • Got to see a gorgeous landscape and go swimming, hiking, rafting,
  • Engage in service projects
Cons
  • Water pressure in the showers
  • Lots of bugs
  • Service at restaurants wasn’t always best

Best adventures ever!

This trip was truly the trip of a lifetime. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, counselors, or adventures. Although I went into this trip not knowing any other teens, I was able to create many life long friendships. To this day I continue to talk and hang out with my friends I made from this trip. Our friendships are very unique because we bonded through the incredible experiences. My personal favorite expedition was the glacier hike. It was an unreal view that I can never forget. I couldn't recommend a trip like this enough. It showed me the importance of seeing the world and stepping out of your comfort zone.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
The most unfamiliar thing I ate was a species of shark. It was definitely out of my comfort zone and not anything like the food I eat at home but it was worth a try.
Pros
  • travel experience
  • new friends
  • unforgettable memories
Cons
  • colder side
  • lots of layers
  • long car rides

How a Photography Workshop in Italy Changed Me

My teen travel photography program in Italy was one of the most transformative experiences I've ever had. I arrived not knowing anyone and unsure of what to do expect, but I left with new friends, new skills, and a new sense of confidence in myself and my creative abilities.
Each day offered something different and unforgettable, from wandering through the narrow Florence streets with our cameras, learning how to tell a story through a single image, and challenging myself to photograph people, moments, and places that pushed me outside my comfort zone. I learned quickly that photography is not just about taking a pretty picture but about paying attention to being present and finding connection wherever you are.
What surprised me most was how the trip helped me grow personally. Being far from home encourages me to step up, be independent, and say "yes" to things I might normally hesitate to try. By the end of the workshop, I felt braver, more open-minded, and more grounded in my own creativity. The counselors created a supportive environment where trying new things felt exciting instead of scary, and the group truly became a small community of its own.
This program didn't just teach me how to take better photos, but it helped me see the world, myself, with a more curious and confident perspective. I'm incredibly grateful for the experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for adventure, artistic growth, and meaningful connection.

Pros
  • Supportive councelors.
  • Amazing activities throughout each day.
  • Truly a unique experience.

5 across the board. My trips with TFT fostered lifetime connections with people all over the world, and I experienced things that made me change so much. I grew from a shy and anxious old soul to a philosopher that lives for adventure!!! I will be coming back in 2026 and so far I’ve brought four friends into the program! totally 100% recommend TFT! the counselors are the absolute best and you will make forever friends. I’ve been to the lowest waterfall in Costa Rica and the highest volcano in Hawaii. How cool! If you’re thinking about joining DO IT!!!

A Month of Adventure: Australia, New Zealand & Fiji

My month-long adventure through Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji was truly one of the best experiences of my life—full of unforgettable memories, incredible people, and moments I’ll carry with me forever.

Australia quickly became one of my favorite parts of the trip. I absolutely loved being in the water, especially exploring the Great Barrier Reef. Every day felt like a new opportunity to dive into something exciting—literally. The staff on the trip were amazing; they always made us feel safe, supported, and included. I’m still in contact with some of the kids I met there, which says a lot about how close we all became.

New Zealand was all about adventure. Whether we were exploring the outdoors or trying something new, every day was filled with adrenaline and fun. It had such a different vibe from Australia, but in the best way—more rugged, more wild, and so beautiful.

Fiji was absolutely stunning. One of the highlights was getting to paint a school, which felt so meaningful. Unfortunately, a few kids on the trip picked up a parasite and had to go to the hospital, but the staff handled everything incredibly well. They stayed with them, made sure no one felt alone, and took care of every detail. Even with the unexpected challenges, Fiji remains one of my favorite parts of the trip.

Some of my core memories were made on the Fourth of July. We celebrated with our own barbecue, swam in the pool, and sang USA songs—it felt like a little piece of home while being so far away.

Overall, this trip was unforgettable. From the adventures to the friendships and all the moments in between, it’s something I’ll always treasure

What was your funniest moment?
One of the funniest parts of the entire trip was when our group created a shared Instagram account. It started as a simple way to post updates, but it quickly turned into a hilarious highlight reel of the trip. We posted the most random, chaotic, behind-the-scenes moments—inside jokes, goofy pictures, and all the little things that made our group so close. Every time someone uploaded something new, we’d all burst out laughing. It became our unofficial trip diary, filled with the funniest stuff that only we would understand. It made the whole experience even more memorable and brought us all even closer together
Pros
  • The people
  • Sights
  • Community service
Cons
  • Hot
  • Food was iffy
  • Long time gone

Greece and Italy Adventure

Going on Travel for Teens' Greece and Italy adventure was one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had. I got to travel to incredible places like Capri, Amalfi Coast, Rome, Athens, and Lefkada. As someone who hadn't ever been out of the country by myself, Travel for Teens allowed me to feel safe and confident about being in a country with people I had never met before. It was super easy to make friends, to feel safe with my councillors, and to have fun. I always look back on that trip as transformative (for myself), and the highlight of my summer. I think travel for teens did a great job with the itinerary, and also picking councillors that were very good connecting with the students. Overall, I had a great time being apart of Travel for Teens' program.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I think the most surprising moment was looking down for the top of Capri and seeing the thousands of boats from so high up. I had never seen what Capri was and waa one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Pros
  • Great Safety
  • Great Staff and People
  • Great Itinerary
Cons
  • Not that much cultural immersion other than taking monument tours

My trip to Greece and Italy!!

My trip was so incredible. We saw iconic landmarks and so much history across Rome, Pompeii, Amalfi, Lefkada, and Athens. My memories and friendships created are unforgettable. I went into this not knowing anyone, but so did a bunch of the other people on my trip. Our amazing director and counselor made sure we were all always comfortable. We all became such close friends in a short amount of time. The activities and experiences we had planned throughout the trip were so great and something I wouldn't have been able to experience otherwise. We had guided tours through the Vatican, Pompeii, and Ancient Delphi. We had so much fun on boat days down the Amalfi Coast and around islands in Greece. And we savored a delicious cooking class with the sweetest Greek woman in a small town.

What was your funniest moment?
When we were eating dinner in Greece, cats kept coming up to us and they were so cute!!!
Pros
  • The best food from local places
  • Memories to last a lifetime
  • A feeling of independence
Cons
  • Nothing will ever come compare to this experience again
  • Having to say goodbye
