TESOL Program

The TESOL program is practical. It is realistic. It provides useful information and tips on how we can teach English to non-native speakers. I like the design of the module. It is not boring and tiresome. I get excited all the time to finish the module so I can answer the quiz. The quiz is enjoyable too. It is not too easy yet not too difficult as well.

Thank you so much for providing the opportunity for people to access the course online. I gain more confidence in teaching not just with my strengths but even with my weakest skill.

Quick and Easy

It covered the basics, gave great examples and resources. I enjoyed the teacher Jay videos especially the ones where he walked through lessons and it gave you great ideas. The ideas for teaching online matched up with my experiences teaching for Bling and I thought that their tips for using props and the equipment requirements were accurate. The specific language things were helpful, I don't teach those concepts and it was new to me, even as a native speaker so the clear guidelines were helpful to me and I feel confident now that I could explain it to others.

What was your funniest moment?
I have been a teacher for over 50 years and I had to retake the tenses quiz 3 times
Pros
  • quick
  • easy to understand
  • relevant
Cons
  • none

My rating for this program

I highly recommend this TESOL/TEFL certification for anyone who is interested in getting certified in teaching the English language to non-English speaking students in non-English speaking countries online or abroad. Their program is second to none. The program, content, modules, lessons, and teaching videos quality were outstanding and exceeded my expectations. I was completely impressed with their professionalism. Pricing for this certification is fair and transparent, definitely value for money.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Take advantage of this certification and open up your options for teaching and being more remote. Also have an eye catcher on your resume.
Pros
  • Easy
  • Smooth
  • Very informative

Great experience!

During my TESOL course, I have learned a wide variety of valuable tools and strategies that I can use with students, whether in a traditional face-to-face classroom setting or in an online environment. The course has provided me with practical techniques for engaging students and creating effective lesson plans tailored to different learning styles. One of the most rewarding aspects of this course has been learning how to build a supportive and interactive learning environment, which I can apply regardless of the teaching format.

I’ve always had a passion for teaching, and this course has helped me enhance my skills and gain the confidence I need to be an effective English teacher. The insights into student motivation, language acquisition, and the importance of teaching various skills like speaking, listening, reading, and writing have been incredibly valuable in shaping my approach to teaching. Whether I'm working with beginners or more advanced students, I now feel well-equipped to adapt my methods to suit their needs and foster an engaging learning experience.

Overall, I have found this TESOL course to be immensely beneficial in helping me achieve my goals as an English teacher. It has provided me with a deeper understanding of language teaching theory and practical tools that I can implement right away. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is serious about pursuing a career in teaching English as a second language or simply looking to improve their teaching methods.

What would you improve about this program?
Something that I would improve about this program could be to include more interactive portions within the topics and also add more sample teaching videos as shown during this course.
Pros
  • Easy language to understand.
  • The sorted way to explain the topics.
  • The manner to continue to the next topic, just completing all the tasks before.
Cons
  • Lack of more interactive activities within the topics.
  • Few samples of teaching videos.
  • It would be helpful to include some audios.

Very happy with the whole course

I was unsure about taking this course, but all the information was really useful. It provides many tools for how to start teaching young learners, teenagers, and adults. In every module, they add different examples about how to teach different materials, and they also encourage you to think about how you would manage the topic in the classroom. The course was quite easy to carry out, and all the information was relevant, so it could be done quickly without getting stressed or frustrated.

Highly recommendable.

My Experience Studying the 120 hours TESOL/TEFL Course

The TESOL/TEFL course was very exciting and interesting as well. I gained immensely from the rich contents of the lectures and the practical exercises. There are so many hand-on video tutorials that enabled me to get along with the teaching. I also appreciate the promptness in issuing the certificate and the support at each stage of the program. In fact, the organizers are awesome in making the registration process hitch-free and in arranging the modules to lead from the least to the most challenging tasks. The final examination is also very standard, with lots of applied questions. Well done!

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest moment was when I had to do an exam on one of the language skills, for about 20 times before I could score above 80% to proceed to the next module.
Pros
  • The platform is user friendly
  • The assignments/examinations are very enriching
  • The contents are very rich academically
Cons
  • I had challenge with electricity
  • Some modules could be more challenging and a bit boring
  • It is tailored more toward teaching lower grade

TESOL 120 hours: Amazing

My motivation to complete this course was in order to be able to complete volunteer work in school in the Pacific Islands. The course (TESOL) was extremely well planned, systematic and organised. The use of regular tests was great as it reinforced my knowledge, and prior to sitting my final exam, I re-sat each test (good move!).

I had some anxiety about the grammar demands of the course, however it was taught in a way that 'hooked' me and consequently ignited a high interest in the subject.

I was surprised (and relieved) at how easy it was to negotiate the technical demands demands of the course.

I am now going to enrol on a further course in order to consolidate my learning.
Great course!!

What was your funniest moment?
Some of the terminology was unique to teaching (and I am a health professional), for example 'realia'!!
Pros
  • Easily read and understood-in general (palatable).
Cons
  • Course is in USA English not UK English (an optional choice might be a good idea).
  • As NZ moves more closely to biculturalism, I was aware that the programme did not accommodate this.

World TESOL Academy. Great overall value.

As an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) teaching English in Japan, with no prior background in education, this program has helped me elevate my teaching game by a lot. I took the 120-hour course, which starts you out from the basics and then tackles other topics such as classroom management, lesson plans, holding online classes, etc. Even if you were a seasoned teacher, but didn't have the certification, this course would help refresh your memory about things that you may have already studied but may have forgotten along the way, and would also add a sprinkling of new information that you might've missed since you last studied about teaching. They offered assistance through "tutors", but the course was easy to understand and the interface was simple enough that I didn't need to contact them. I hope to introduce this program to other ALTs

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would probably take down more notes from the lessons, and run more practices. I would also try to review the previous lessons before taking the final exam.
Pros
  • Smooth and clean interface.
  • You can take the course at your own pace.
  • "Tutors" are available should you have any questions or confusion about a topic.
