Friendly Staff and Valuable Resources

The course is well made, informative, and the staff are helpful at every step of the way, keep in contact with you, and are more than willing to answer any questions or concerns you have, no matter how trivial or ridiculous they feel. It can be challenging to stare at the words on screen for an extended period of time, so I found that using a Text-To-Speech filter helped me immensely. Covers a wide range of material that you may be concerned about, like learning materials for students and the likes. Excellent course.

120 Hour Hour Advanced TEFL Course

Really well-structured and really engaging, everything was explained really well but also thoroughly so all bases were covered! There was loads of really helpful tips and tricks from real-life situations and experiences and all of the materials and examples that I'll be able to use when I start teaching will come really handy! Everything was really detailed and the tests at the end of the modules covered a lot of the content, so you really felt like you were being accurately tested and this helped me to solidify my learning properly! Would highly recommend!

Great Baseline!

This course was a great baseline to what I will be teaching soon! I have a degree in linguistics so for me it was a review of a lot of basics in linguistics. But I loved the little nuances in the English language that L1 speakers of English may not even know! This course had great resources for teaching and good tactics to apply in the classroom. I loved how dynamic these tips were. It gave a lot of different ways to approach teaching English and in different cultures. I was very happy with how well this course was made and I will be applying what I learned soon!!

Fabulous Programme

I am writing this upon completion of this course. Undertaking, and completing, this course was one of the best decisions i have made. The opportunity to develop my existing skills and learn new skills has been thoroughly enriching in a number of ways. It has been made more enjoyable, interesting and insightful by the course itself. The varying media and the formats used were great, along with the podcasts with James. Would highly recommend to anybody looking to further themselves moving forward.

Insightful and engaging course

This course has given me a solid foundation for becoming an EFL teacher. Although some of the modules surrounding grammar and lesson planning are challenging, the content is insightful and engaging. In particular, I found the sections regarding lesson planning and classroom management very useful. The modules are well structured, offering examples of worksheets you can use to guide your teaching in the classroom. By completing this course, you will have a wealth of knowledge and practical skills to take with you on your teaching journey. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying the TEFL Nomad.

Excellent Course

I learnt all the essential topics which go into being a teacher of English abroad. The user experience was very easy. The interface was modern and simple to navigate and I had no issues in signing up or accessing the course. The end of unit tests were a great way to check on which topics I need to work on, and the end of course assessment was challenging yet a helpful way to also see areas for improvement. I will take on board what I have learnt in this course and hope to implement the skills I have acquired in my teaching journey.

A Really Good Course

I found this course really engaging and just the right level of challenging. I feel like I've gained so many skills and understandings from it that will help with teaching EFL. This course doesn't just teach you how to teach EFL but it also provides transferable skills, for example I have applied the seciton on SMART Objectives to my university degree and life in general. My only critique of the course was that it over complicated some examples by forcing itself to create generic student characters in order to use singular, gendered pronouns (he/she) unecessarily when it would be much clearer and easier to just use the singular they/them.

Amazing course!

This was a really thorough course which has equipped me to embark on my first teaching abroad journey. It was very easy to follow, with a mix of short activities, example resources, podcasts, quizzes and relations to real world. I particularly enjoyed the content relating to lesson plans, they go over each step in detail and go through how to effectively plan a lesson which was the part I was most concerned about. There was also a downloadable template to use for future lessons which I will be using when I get to my school. I'd really recommend this course!

Engaging!

It is good to be able to work at your own pace and the inclusion of videos, example worksheets, example lessons and assessments is so beneficial. I have learnt a lot from this course and can't wait to put it into practice! The quizzes after each module were great as they allowed me to think about what I had just learnt. The podcast sessions with James were also an engaging aspect that helped break up the course great. I enjoyed how the course also included classroom management, assessments and example activities as I was only expecting to learn the English language.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I have never travelled alone before and have decided to become a TEFL teacher in Thailand. I am nervous but more so excited for this adventure! With this course I feel confident and being organised and doing plenty of research also helped with my nerves.
Pros
  • Recapped English language that, as a native speaker, I wasn't too familiar with
  • Helped me understand how to run lessons to benefit students
Cons
  • It was a lot of information to take in
