Global work and travel

I was hesitant at first to go with a company for my working holiday (because of the $$$), but as it was my first time overseas I am glad I did as they provided me with all the knowledge, support and resources I needed to plan my working holiday and get myself to Canada.

Although I ended up applying for jobs separately for my first 6 months just because I wanted to go somewhere the company didn't have partners, my travel coordinator, Mark, was so supportive and helpful along the way. Even with my other job (found outside of GWAT) he would check in every now and then to make sure everything was going smoothly.
For the next part of my trip, I am with GWAT through a partner's subsidiary company and I actually get to use my degree knowledge! I am so excited for this part of the trip and I have Mark to thank for it.

The highlight of this company for me is how reliable and helpful they have been whilst I have been overseas.

Pros
  • reliable
  • feel like you have a friend
  • wealth of knowledge
Cons
  • pricey

Global review

Maria was brilliant throughout the process. She was very informative, approachable and friendly. She was very prompt in replying to responses and when I was in Vancouver she was happy to help in person as a walk in. She made it feel personal.

Monkey Rehabilitation in South Africa

The trip itself was really well organised! Once I arrived at the sanctuary, I was greeted by so many welcoming people from all over the world, who quickly became friends. The work is challenging but once you realise how much good you are doing, it all becomes worth it! There are different types of shifts which are all unique in their own way and you’re almost always with someone else learning either about them or the monkeys. The vegan diet (from someone who isn’t vegan) was so good. I didn’t feel like I missed anything I would usually have in my diet. The sanctuary does group trips and spend lots of time together as it is communal living, it really feels like a family. The cabins for volunteers are basic but that is literally all you need! You really don’t spend much time in them other than sleeping and you do get used to the change.

Pros
  • Meeting so many people from around the world
  • Feeling of accomplishment
  • The experience of travelling on your own, but never being alone.

Loved my experience with Global!!

Brianna was really helpful with all of the information that I needed and I really enjoyed the piece of mind moving countries knowing she would help me with anything I needed. It will be great knowing that I will have ongoing support while I am in Canada as well. The location of the housing for our first few days was great, nice and close to everything that we needed and close to the office for our orientation. It was great being able to meet a few different travellers on the same journey as I am on.

Pros
  • Job Opportunities
  • Bank and Phone Set Up
  • Friendly Social Environment
Cons
  • Changing coordinators throughout the experience

Great Experience with Global!

Brianna my travel coordinator was super helpful through the entire process and made my experience absolutely amazing! I moved to Canada and could get completely set up for a life in a new country by having everything organised in the first week. Global also provided so many job options all over Canada so I was able to get an amazing job in an amazing location. The orientation was great way to meet new people from all over the work with similar interests and I gained the confidence to go out and explore Canada!

Great Experience

Working with Eimear and the team at Global Work & Travel has been a terrific experience. They have all helped me be able to work in another country without much hassle or stress. I would definitely recommend choosing to use this company due to how reliable the service is and how friendly the staff are. I've personally found my experience to be great so far, with multiple opportunities offered throughout the program. Many of which would show me something I've never witnessed or experienced myself.

Pros
  • Not having to worry about doing all the work myself
  • Having everything organised for me: job opportunities, flights.
  • Friendly team to work with
Cons
  • A little pricey overall

Teach Vietnam

Teach Vietnam has been amazing! I’ve never been to Asia which is what attracted me to this location. It’s an amazing place that, if you put your faith in the way of life, you can easily fall in love with. The Global team were super helpful and accommodating. We kept in touch several times a month via email and phone which was a real comfort as a solo traveller. Working abroad can come with a lot of paperwork, especially when meeting the requirements of forgiven governments, and Global were there to help me navigate it. To anyone who is considering this program, I would highly recommend doing what I did and go out a week or two before the course starts to familiarise yourself with the country and to have a bit of an explore at your own pace!

Working holiday,

The team in vancouver were really helpful with all aspects in canada. between both being in australia and once landing in vancouver, Eimear has been a god send, easy to get information, helping with jobs. very highly rate my experience once being in country.

The australian team werent too bad, but seem to be misinformed about quite a few details of the visa process, for a younger traveller might put them off their experience/ travel.

But all in all, here now and happy with my experience......

Pros
  • Helpful
  • resourceful
  • friendly

working holiday canada - mark allen

A lovely friendly and welcoming group, always happy to support and provide assistance, really great place to be part of.

If you are looking for an experience learning a new culture, meet new people and have a change i would recommend.

I would advise to take time looking through the best place to visit for your needs and desires, once you have one in mind just go for it, take the risk and itll be worth it.

The support here is really great, if you have any questions or issues anyone is on hand to offer assistance. I couldn't recommend it anymore.

Pros
  • super fun
  • really exciting experience
  • always smiling
