Comforting

My experience with Global work and travel was great, they were a warm and welcoming team that really made it easy for myself to settle into the new country. Eimear was always there to answer any questions we had, and would make sure we had everything we needed to make sure our departure and arrivals went as smoothly as possible. It was also great to meet like minded travellers from around the world that had singed up with Global work and travel.. just knowing that you’re not alone and there are people on the same boat as you is really comforting feeling and can add so much more value and excitement to your trip away from home.

Pros
  • Meeting new people from all around the world
  • Saves the stress of independent travelling
  • Constant support from the team and community

Amazing!! Would 100% do it again!

My experience was awesome! The team were always very responsive and made everything in my trip from NZ to Canada flow smoothly.
Eimear was always willing to help and happy to give advice and answer all my questions! And it never felt like I was asking too many questions.
I was excited to get to Canada but had no idea which area to choose, I knew I loved the outdoors and nature - and where I got paired with, it really hit the nail on the head!
Overall, I've felt so supported and welcomed by the team and meeting other travellers in the same boat as me helped add a lot of value to the experience. 10/10!!

Global Work and Travel (Revelstoke)

Working with Global and my support coordinator Eimear was absolutely amazing, if you’re unsure whether to go through a company I would definitely recommend Global!
Revelstoke is a small little ski town but with lots going on in the summer (like, lots!) it’s perfect for a good work/life balance and a quiet place to enjoy the ideal Canadian weather!
I would say that it’s not the easiest to travel out of if you don’t have a car. There are bus services but they don’t run too regularly. It’s an amazing place for meeting people from all across the world because Revelstoke is such a sought after destination!

Pros
  • Opportunity to learn snow sports!
  • Meeting people from around the world
  • Good work/life balance
Cons
  • Not easy to travel out of (revy) without own transport

Mr Frank Morrison

Life in Canada has been an awesome and epic experience!
Have had amazing help from global and Eimear (they make everything so smooth and easy).
Never thought a working holiday would give me so many memories, friendships and joy.
Can only recommend anyone thinking about a next adventure to take this one and go for it.
If not sure what to do this or next year, I would definitely say that doing this will make you stronger physically and mentally with challenges that come through living in another country.

Pros
  • Well supported throughout your trip
  • Living in a new country made so easy
  • Making friendships and memories
Cons
  • If wanting to travel excessively, be aware that some jobs require 40 hours minimum a week
  • Some staff housing may be a tad dated
  • Solo travellers without a driving licence will need to make good friendships

Global work and travel

Global has helped me obtain my visa, sort my flights and source me a job. Eimear my travel director has been an amazing help throughout my time in Canada so far and has checked up on me about my job and offered any answers to questions I have had. Eimear has also helped me look for my winter job even after I’ve arrived and been here for 4 months. This working holiday for the short part has helped me gain confidence, experience a new way of living and meet incredible people. Thank you Global!!!!!

Pros
  • Meet new people
  • Gain confidence
  • See and experience a new part of the world

Costa Rica Animal Sanctuary

This was such an amazing experience. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. We made our own little family at the sanctuary and went on day trips together and fed the animals together it was great. I would have liked to have been more prepared on the environment I was coming into (food, bedding, showers, etc.) obviously the animals were so cute and fun definitely worth the money. Other than while at the sanctuary you go on day trips and I recommend booking the driver and trip yourself because they charge you extra for them to book it.

Pros
  • The animals
  • The Sanctuary building
  • The people
Cons
  • The bathrooms
  • The bugs
  • The humidity

Life Changing Experience

Teaching in South Korea has really changed my life! I adore working with the students and my school offers me great support with whatever I need. I love how close I am to Seoul without living in the hustle and bustle of that city. Everything is very convenient and all the unique experiences I've been having are so amazing! I loved seeing all the cherry blossoms in spring and I am looking forward to seeing them again. I really enjoy trying all the new and different foods that are here too. I definitely recommend South Korea as an awesome teaching experience!

Pros
  • Convenient
  • Unique
  • Amazing food
Cons
  • Tough to communicate at times

Teach Japan

Japan is an amazing country with a very unique culture and way of life. There is a mix of modern and traditional combined and every place is different. I would recommend walking around and exploring as much as possible in your area, you will find little unique shops (a lot of them food) are all over the place. If you can, explore different cities and places outside of where you live, as each city and province is different from the next. The climate, traditions, food, and way of life vary and change across Japan, so each place has new things to see and learn.

Pros
  • Lots to see and do
  • Amazing food
  • The kids are always so excited to have an ALT
Cons
  • Must cover tattoo's and some piercings
  • Schedules can change last minute
  • If you are not use to public transport, it can be a bit overwhelming to start with

Life changing

For me, this trip was entirely a spontaneous decision with a need for feeling alive again. I went on this trip alone, but not for a moment did I feel lonely, or unsafe as a young female travelling alone. The centre itself was incredible. The animals were treated extraordinarily well, and the staff and volunteers were all wholeheartedly dedicated to giving them the best life. I had the absolute best time, and it’s an experience I think everybody should go for, especially animal lovers! Go for it!

Pros
  • Great social aspect in finding friends in fellow volunteers, and the opportunity to travel around the country at the same time with trips organised by the centre.
  • Having fun while also providing rescue animals with a better life
  • Incredible standard of food and accommodation provided.
Cons
  • I can’t think of a single one!

Au Pair

I went through the global work and travel agency to help me with the whole process of becoming an Au Pair in France. Through this process I have different people helping me with different parts of the trip/process and all have been amazing. My Au Pair manager Julie-Anne I have had the lost contact with, she has been outstanding especially when bumps arise, she went above and beyond to help me with everything I’ve needed to do in this process so far. She has made this process as smooth as possible for me.

Pros
  • The independence
  • Feeling safe with the agency
