Destination TEFL

Moko and Georgie are both great at what they do. Georgie offers insightful feedback and really works to help you succeed as an ESL teacher. The students at the school where you do your student teaching are also very nice and attentive. Moko has built some great connections with local schools, which helps students both during the course and after. If you're nervous about leaving home, know that these two will take good care of you and help you navigate any obstacles during your time in the course.

Pros
  • Caring staff
  • In person teaching practice
  • Good location
Cons
  • Very intensive, if that's a problem for you

Destinations TEFL-Cambodia

Without really knowing what was going to happen at the end of the course, my son and I just packed our bags and traveled to Siem Reap-Cambodia, in March 2023. DT promised to deliver and did just that. I had an adventure of my life not only in class but also outside of class. I have met people from different parts of the world and made some life long friends.
I am now more confidant of looking for work any where in South East Asia, and not just in Cambodia because of my Destinations TEFL certificate.
I will always remember my experience @Destinations TEFL-CambodiaI.

Pros
  • Money spent was worth it. Lots of materials to cover
  • Program well suited for everyone, especially those who do not have teaching background.
  • Actual teaching practicals were great exposure.
Cons
  • Climate- was quite hot for some of us.
  • Trying to do boarder run through Poipet to renew visa was quite challenging

TEFL in Bali

Everything about this experience was a 10/10. You feel incredibly grateful towards the wonderful teachers that help you along the way and at the end of the course you will find yourself amazed by how much you were able to learn and grow in such a short amount of time. The training is challenging, but 100% worth it in the end! My friend recommended this program to me and I would happily recommend it to anyone who is thinking about teaching abroad. It is the opportunity of a lifetime and incredibly rewarding experience.

Lots of learns

I think it’s as organized as it can be. many factors can be unpredictable sometimes, like who is going to be part of the program, schools changing schedules last minute, misunderstandings happening due to the diversity of the group youre with… etc … so just be adaptable and flexible, open and understanding, and most importantly focus on yourself and your growth, development and learning experience. You’re here for YOU not anyone else so just make the most of it and keep a good attitude and dont forget to HAVE FUN!!! Because it is a lot of fun.

Pros
  • Definitely learned a lot
  • Fun, engaging, interactive and diverse
  • Lots of room for personal growth and development
Cons
  • Cant control whose part of the same program you signed up for
  • Very condensed material, so it’s a lot of work
  • Not enough time in the day

Amazing!!

I really enjoyed this course, i wasn’t sure what I would learn about teaching English - turns out there’s a whole lot, it’s extremely challenging but highly worth it. Its really well done and a lot of fun! I’ve made amazing friends here, I’ve seen a lot by doing the culture activities through the course. You’ll get 24/7 help/support with anything from the trainer and centre manager. I stayed in suda house which was great, the landlord is extremely accommodating and the room is clean and comfortable.

Pros
  • Meet friends
  • Amazing weather
  • Quality course
Cons
  • You’ll always be sweaty

July class

I just recently finished the course and was very satisfied about everything- our Teacher Angie was just superb - going extra mile for after class grammar lesson.
Willie always available to help with what ever information we needer outside class aswell. Found our feet alot faster and great to make friends for a life time! All the information they have been providing about visa and interviews, job placement has been super helpful.
I am very excited to see what the future holds in Cambodia for me and my husband.

A full on month!

This is an adventure that can shape someone's professional life forever. An intense month of lessons and practicum that goes so well with the fun times in class. The course includes a cultural day in which the students get to visit some historical and cultural sights, there is guidance and activities involved and it is a great bonding experience for the students as well as the staff. I also highly recommend doing a face-to-face course instead of online because actually having a trainer in the room with you and then putting it into the classroom in real life with real ESL students is invaluable.

Pros
  • perfect time management
  • great lesson planning
  • best support, both personal and professional
Cons
  • if there could be more time during the course for practicing that would be great.(course duration)

DT Bali

The course is intense so preparation is vital.
A calendar of what to expect in the 4 weeks would have been helpful for planning purposes & knowing what to expect each week.
Having a range of accomodation options would have been good to have, especially for people who have never been to Bali before.
Overall, the course was a great way to learn new skills and to use them in a school with practicums. Being able to put the learning in practice was so much fun. The students are keen learners of English.

Pros
  • Learning new teaching skills
  • Teaching in a different country
  • Made new friends
Cons
  • Culture shock in the first instance
  • Not being fully aware of what to expect in the course
  • Wifi not working at accomodation when homework was needing to be done

Destination TEFL Bali

The focus I'd had before starting this course, was about 'how to make a proper lessonplan', which steps do you need to make, to create connection enough for effective teaching' and also 'how to make sure of that you're teaching is reaching the brains of your students so they actually learn, remember and grow in knowledge and self respect as well. This course has given me the chance to get the foundation of how te teach. I still need more time to let all the information sink in and of course a lot more practice to gain all the necessary skills of becoming a good teacher though.
This course has been a great starting point for all of this, so BIG THANKS to Georgie our trainer and to Willie who elicited me about the this course and the chance to step into this new adventure of teaching 🙏🙏🙏

Pros
  • Fast track
  • real-time in front of a class, teaching
  • meeting new people from all over the world
Cons
  • No time for all the information to sink in properly
  • you have to put your 'normal' life on hold
