IU Bad Honnef

At IU International University of Applied Sciences, we place a strong emphasis on quality. That is why all of our study programmes are state-approved, bear the seal of German Accreditation Council and are globally recognised. And that is why we have won a large number of awards for our programme selection, high level of educational materials and outstanding service and support. At IU International University of Applied Sciences, we believe that the key for building high-quality study programmes is having a high-quality teaching staff. That’s why we place an emphasis on finding the best professors and lecturers, whom all have to meet our high standards by having an excellent academic reputation, subject-specific expertise, practical experience and a strong international approach.

Evaluation for the program

Hello,

My name is Aamer, and I am from India. I am currently studying in berlin doing my masters. When I arrived in 2020, it was proper COVID time. So, at start there was difficulty. Then as the time passed I got used to it, and from there on it was just a roller coaster of a ride. Because in Berlin it's quite difficult to find a house for yourself and there is a huge language barrier as well, but people are very friendly.

And now I am in final semester of my masters, and in few months I will be graduating. So, the overall experience was good and I learned many things in these 2 years.

Pros
  • Nice professors
  • Different cultures of students
  • Sports
Cons
  • Responsive time of university is slow
  • Not much of knowledge from staff
  • Complicated at times regarding few things like paying up fee etc

IU International University of Applied Sciences

Overall I am quite happy with the program. I can study from home and take exams online. The university gives all the materials and an app to follow your progress. You have to find more information online but this can be said about a lot of universities.
I was looking for a degree in Computer Science or related field that I could do online, that would be in English and allow me to study at home. It's very hard to find a university that satisfies all three requirements but this one does. You can choose your own speed and do what's more comfortable for you.

Pros
  • Can study online
  • Not expensive
  • in English
Cons
  • Sometimes it's hard to get in touch with the university stuff
  • Some books may use more clarity

Well Reviewed

Online learning gives you a unique chance to live and work in a different country while having access to high-quality education from other areas. Therefore, it is an amazing opportunity to deepen your knowledge in a field you are interested in and the university offers a variety of programs to choose from. The platform itself is very flexible and you can easily get support in case of any need. The provided materials are very interesting and there is a great opportunity to access various ones through the library.

Pros
  • Studying at the convenient location
  • Studying at your individual flexible hours
  • Diversity of study programs
Cons
  • Lack of possibility to meet
  • More self organized skills required
  • Lack of discussion possibilities

Review

The course offers a range of knowledge spanning from mathematics to data science and software engineering. Needs approximately 50hours per week and the content provided is enough for the exams. I recommend everyone who has the opportunity to sit in person in an exam in Germany to do so as this is good experience to blend with other students and network. I had experience also in sitting at an online exam, the process is easy. The mobile application needs more development but does the work, I recommend to use the website that is easy to use with guided menus and FAQS.

Pros
  • Material
  • Flexibility
  • Content

International University of Applied Sciences

My experience at the IU has been magnificent. Studying at IUBH gives you total freedom in your day to day life, the curriculum is very motivating, the subjects are extremely practical and the professors help you as much as they can.
Since I started studying the online artificial intelligence degree it has been a rewarding experience. For each theoretical subject, there is a practical subject in which you develop your own project. For me, this way of learning is the best without a doubt.

I highly recommend studying the Artificial Intelligence degree. With the curriculum they have they are able to keep you motivated throughout the course.

Pros
  • Freedom
  • Motivation
  • Learning process

Flexibility is the only benefit

The really sad part about my experience was the beginning. I had a lot of problems with admission and it just wasn’t the best. I would recommend if you wanted to reach out to administration that you should do it a couple days in advance because it might take a while. Overall I wouldn’t do my experience all over again. I got promised I would get classes accredited and all over the website it says that you get €30 per credit which that never happened. The only thing I would recommend IU for us if you would like flexibility and independent work. I am almost finished with my third semester so I’m about halfway through and lately I haven’t had any problems with administration. The only problems I had was with accreditation and not getting the appropriate information about the accreditation.

Pros
  • Flexibility
  • Independent work
  • I can go at my own pace
Cons
  • Administration can be slow
  • A lot needs to be updated
  • Course books can be confusing
