Dublin an amazing city!

It was indeed an unforgettable experience from day one. After being accepted into the program, Global Experiences involved me to be part of the career readiness which made a smoother transition to the Internship and the city of Dublin. This experience was perfect for me to acquire real job experience and, additionally, I met amazing people from the program and the city. But it is important to mention Dublin's weather. It is highly possible that you will experience the four seasons in one day. Always take an umbrella with you. Dublin has become my new home away from home. Finally, I would highly recommend GE to anyone looking to study abroad and obtain work experience at the same time. The team in Dublin help me with any questions I had. Peter, Lara, Hallie were amazing. If you have this opportunity to study abroad using GE, you should go for it!

Great Experience

Very much enjoyed my summer in Ireland with Global Experiences. The program has so much to offer, including social events, career development support, accommodation, and so on. You even get the chance to take trips through the program to different parts of Ireland, including the Cliffs of Moher and Galway as well as the Black Taxi tours of Belfast. Dublin has plenty of opportunities for a wide range of career paths, including management, computer science, government, advocacy, business and finance and so on. For two months you will not only have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience but also develop a more global perspective by living in a foreign country. If you are looking at any program to take for an internship abroad, make it Global Experiences.

Go overseas with GE!

My internship placement was fantastic. It was exactly the kind of work I wanted to get into with a great family-like company culture. Despite the longer commute, I was given guidance from GE on how to negotiate a schedule that worked out for the both us and it worked out quite well. The range of exposure that I had with the market research agency really solidified my inkling of wanting to pursue a career in it. The support that I got from the staff was so helpful when transitioning to Dublin. From social events, to food and drinks, to having a direct contact in case of anything really helped me feel more at ease during my time abroad. Peter, Lara and Halle all showed that they cared and went out of their way to make sure we all got the experiences that we wanted this summer. I can't recommend international experience enough! Do it with GE :)

Amazing Internship Experience in Dublin

I had the absolute pleasure to have interned with a non-profit organization during my stay in Dublin. Through my internship site, I was able to travel around Ireland in efforts to manage and execute volunteer projects in communities in need. My internship allowed me to put my leadership skills to the test, which oftentimes was difficult for me due to fear in leading large groups of professionals. After two-months of being put in leadership positions, I have gained confidence in myself, of which is a skill that will be useful in my roles in my extracurriculars in my university and in future employment. I have gained a new insight into the Irish life which has allowed me to broaden my cultural perspectives. Global Experiences could not have given me a more fulfilling placement and experience in Dublin than the one I had!

What was your funniest moment?
Mispronouncing Quay for three weeks straight as "Cue-Ay" instead of "Key"!

I would do it all over again!

I loved my whole experience in Dublin with GE! The application process was dedicated to finding out my interests, personality, and goals to find an internship that was perfect for me. I loved my internship and the amazing people I got to work with! The GE leaders in Dublin took great care of us if we ever had any questions or problems, and they held several events throughout the program to help us discover new events/places in Dublin and around Ireland. Living in Ardcairn House was also great - the staff were friendly, you're walking distance from city centre, and you get your own room! The GE team, the amazing new friends I made in my program, and my internship truly made me feel welcomed and I can honestly call Dublin my second home. I would definitely recommend GE and studying abroad in Dublin to anyone who loves culture, adventure, nature, and maybe a drink or two!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Travel! Dublin is great, but Ireland's countryside is absolutely stunning. You're also just a quick (and cheap!) flight away from seeing the rest of Europe, so budget/plan to visit other countries because 3 months flies by so fast!

Dublin Internship

I absolutely loved my experience and wish I could do it all over again every day since returning back to the States. From the people to the complete immersion, I felt like a "Dubliner" by the end of my internship. I still am fortunate enough to keep in contact with some of my colleagues I worked with over the summer. I built friendships that will last a lifetime. I am grateful to have had this experience! In and out of the office, I learned a lot about Ireland, in general, and about myself. Yes, it was the summer but I did not mind getting up and going into work. I was always greeted with a friendly "Hiya" and felt like I belonged. The other girls in the program also made my experience so special and fun. We grabbed drinks after work and traveled together on the weekends. I loved every minute! Thanks a million, Global Experiences!

Business Administration Intern in Dublin

I had the best experience I could have had in Dublin. I felt right at home in the city. It was also a great location to travel around Europe on the weekend as our group did this Spring. Lara and Peter (the global experiences team in Dublin) are always there if there are any questions or concerns. I was a business administration intern at a company with sustainability values which fit right in with my interests. This program helped me to grow as a person very much. Working in a a different country is an experience that helped me to learn a lot about myself. The housing just changed for this program as well and we all really liked it. The people that I met in this program were also amazing. If you have this opportunity, I would go for it! It was truly one of the best three months of my life.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Meeting all new people was definitely the most nerve-racking but they all ended up being great.

Amazing Experience

For spending three months abroad I could not be more pleased with choosing Dublin! It was an amazing city with access to many tours to visit all of Ireland. Along with having many adventures to take on in Ireland, it allowed amazing access to visit other European countries for decent prices. Some of the places I visited which I got to go for a decent price were: London, Paris, Spain, and Rome. Which were all also short flights from the Dublin airport being a pretty central location for being able to visit the other countries. The internship was such an inspiring and educational experience! I truly learned a lot and could not have asked for a better internship, co-workers or supervisors. The events provided by global experience were also wonderful! They really helped to meet everyone else in the program and really helped me to settle in! The coordinators were also very helpful and were always there for anyone, even if it was just to talk.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
One thing I would change would be to work as much as I possibly could have before going away, to have more money as well as, to have a set plan on how to budget my money. Also, to take into consideration the amount of money I would have spent traveling to different countries and to have planned how many and what countries I would go to before going abroad to help with the budgeting.
