What a phenomenal experience

This experience has been really fantastic. TLE is a wonderful group of people to work with that made my transition to China so seamless and simple. From health checks, to setting up my SIM card, they’re with us every step of the way and beyond. The company is a fantastic support network to help me when issues arise. They’ve found a fantastic school for me to work at and I am very happy with my current placement. TLE really simplifies the process for you and lets you ease into your new life here.

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest moment was doing a demo lesson in front of the other foreign teachers. It was pretty fun trying to manage the classroom and was pretty hilarious seeing my peers role play the misbehaving kid and throwing things across the class.

  • New delicious food
  • Cultural experiences
  • Exploring

10/10

The experience of coming over to China to teach can be overwhelming. But you meet a lot of people who become your support group and friends. It’s a unique experience and definitely recommend. You truly never stop learning. Through the process you learn more about your self and teaching methods. One of the many perks of teaching in China there is always something to do (that won’t break the wallet…that much). Always expect to find something exciting around the corner. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and remember mistakes are how we learn.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The first day of school made me feel like the new kid at school. Knowing that there are other new students who may happen to feel the same thing. The song “we’re all in this together” got me through the day

If i had any problems they were always quickly responded and resolved very easily. The staff always work hard to ensure that I had the best experience possible. Being with TLE brings strong peace of mind. There is a strong feeling of connectedness as well. They host all kinds of different events to attend to make friends and try new things.

If you are ensure about being a successful teacher, TLE provides training and whole host of learning materials which are very straightforward. With their help everything is made easier.

Great, friendly people

I have had an amazing experience working with Talent-E. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything you need. They go above and beyond to help you navigate the process, from getting settled to understanding the local culture and expectations. Their support is constant and reliable, which made my transition into teaching so much smoother. I truly appreciated how approachable and dedicated the team was, and I always felt well taken care of.
There are many opportunities to experience chinese culture and go on days out. Even though I came alone, I have made many friends here making the transition to life here very comfortable.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to teach in Shenzhen!

Talent E - The Gold Standard

Talent E is the gold standard for teaching agencies in Shenzhen. From the moment you arrive, they provide unmatched support, ensuring every aspect of life abroad is seamless and stress-free. They handle all the challenges of living in a new country, from logistics to problem-solving, with immediate and effective responses. Their dedication eliminates any fear or concern about living overseas, allowing you to focus entirely on your goals.

Their team is incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in your well-being, both as a teacher and as an individual. I trust them completely and can confidently say they are the most reliable, hands-on agency I’ve encountered. Working with Talent E has made my experience abroad not only successful but deeply fulfilling. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest moment has to be the time that TLE threw me a surprise birthday party one month after I arrived in China. They surrounded me with dozens of guests, gave me a cake, and the entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday to me. I found it so funny that after such a short time in China, TLE threw me such a fantastic birthday party and the whole restaurant was emphatically signing to me. Just one month earlier, I was living and working in America!

A safety net

I’m a single woman and moving to a foreign country and continent was both nerve racking and scary; but, TLE answered all the question and held my hand through it all. Even after arriving they are free always to help and answer questions. Before arriving they help you settle all your paper work, and after arriving they set you up in a hotel and eventually an apartment with your set preferences. If you have a problem, need medicine, need a translator, anything, they will be there. I have to say it’s been a great experience so far.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The process was of moving out of the house for the first time and getting on a plane is terrifying, but I had a great support system and kept thinking that I have to just experience it all.
Pros
  • Foreign travel
  • Safety guarded experience
  • Strong support system

My experience in China

Before I came to China, I was incredibly afraid of how things would go since I was coming entirely alone. But once I arrived in Shenzhen, I realised that I had nothing to fear because TLE were with me every step of the way. They helped me with everything, from downloading needed all the necessary apps, to getting myself an apartment. Even mundane things such as going to the doctor or needing advice. They've always been there. Not only were they there when I have needed them. They have also arranged the occasional meet up for teachers to experience some fun activities together. We can all socialise, get know one another and make friends within the agency. It's very reassuring.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
The most surprising thing to me was the sheer size of Shenzhen city. I have never seen a city half the size of this place, let alone just as big! However, it's still entirely possible to travel without a hitch using the subway system. You could take a trip to the other side of the city on a day off and it would be as good as a holiday.
Pros
  • Good food and drinks everywhere.
  • Subway system makes the entire city incredibly accessible.
  • The people are very friendly.
Cons
  • The language barrier can make it quite difficult to communicate without the necessary translation apps.
  • Work schedule does not always align with the people around you. So, it may occasionally be difficult to make plans with friends.
  • In Summer the humidity can be rather uncomfortable.
