This course was incredibly disappointing from the start. The website procedures are incredible outdated and staff manually send through informal word documents for your assignments. The communication was pathetic and my first email back comprised of 'just try your best'. The content was all over the place and poorly explained. However, the real issue I had with this company was they did not honour the support with job placement. I have now sent through 5 emails since completing the Course > 2 weeks ago and I have received zero assistance with job placement (despite paying for the more expensive course purely for this assistance). So far the emails have not been addressed and I have had no assistance nor guidance in how to proceed from here. They are simply ignoring me. I would not recommend this course and I will be reporting it as unprofessional. DO NOT GO WITH ITT TEFL TESOL.

How long did you wait to get your scores and certificate after you submitted all assignments and quizzes?

I received my PDF certificate with verification letter and transcript one after completion, and my hard copy certificate came one week later.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose this program because I wanted to study online at my own pace, and this program offered everything that I was looking for. It has a mix of modules that I wanted to learn from. It covers all types of teaching and I wanted to learn and get confidence from this course. I was a new teacher and I really needed the support, which they offer.

What did your program provider assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The program offered all the materials to study with. I was assigned my own personal tutor who was giving me good positive feedback from every assignment I had to take. My tutor had over ten years of experience, and he really helped me and made me confident about being a teacher. I was also well assisted in finding a job on completion.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

My advice would be to take this course if you are looking to be an English teacher abroad or an online teacher, because this company has a lot of connections with countries all over the world, and can help greatly with finding you a suitable job in the destination of your choice. They have courses suited for teachers with and without experience.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

The course I chose was a complete at your own pace course. I worked full time so my days are pretty full. I would go to work and then come home eat some dinner, then get on my computer and study for a couple of hours. Being able to login to the course and study at the times I wanted was great and suited my daily schedule perfectly.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

My experience abroad has been great so far. I am a teacher in Beijing, China. I get great pay and the school helps towards my rent in a nice apartment. My journey has only just started, and I plan to stay here for one year, honor my contract and then move to Vietnam. I will try to work in as many countries in Asia as possible.

Is there any other advice you'd like to share with prospective travelers?

For anyone planning on teaching English as a foreign language around Asia, I would recommend doing your research in the country and city you wish to work in. There are many Facebook groups that you can join and ask people on there that have experience in that country or city of your choice. You will find many people that can help you.
