Teaching internship & TEFL Certification (Thailand, Vietnam, Europe, China, India)

I had an amazing summer - this is a great way to learn so much about the Chinese culture in a way that also helps you to develop your own skills! It's not an 'easy' ride, you really do have to teach classes from the very beginning, but if you're ready for a personal and professional challenge then I would 100% recommend this programme. Living with a host family was a great way to learn more about the local culture whilst still living comfortably. I guess it's a lottery with where you get placed, but ultimately I really enjoyed my placement and met some great people out there too.

Very rewarding - go for it!

The overall experience benefited me in a few ways. For one, I was able to be in touch with China. Although I was born in China, I was never able to explore China as much as I'd liked to. However, living in China for the past few weeks and working with local teachers and students, I really got to understand China in a deeper level. For example, I asked about the day-to-day lives of the locals, what they enjoyed doing, how the economy was working out for them, and so much more. Not only that, I met many friends who would be my lifelong contacts. Because they were mature individuals who could provide me new perspectives in life as well. Lastly, the teaching experience challenged me to try out new teaching methods and materials that would benefit students learning a new language. To conclude, I had a great experience working in China.

This project provides an amazing opportunity to immerse in Chinese culture, meet wonderful people and gain valuable work experience. A huge advantage of this project is a fact that it is free of charge and the only fees I had to cover were travel expenses. Even inexperienced person is more than welcomed to join the project, which is great news for any young volunteer that does not have any work experience yet. I would definitely recommend this program.

Gotoco is a good way to gain teaching experience and the TEFL certificate. I enjoyed meeting the other volunteers and the children. We had weekends off and so were able to explore the local area. However I thought that there could be better communication between the programme leader and the volunteers, as there were some changes made to the programme and we weren't aware of this until one week into the programme. Overall good experience.

GotoCo was a brilliant opportunity to embrace for a university student who loves to travel yet equally gain valuable work experince. The company was very supportive from the beginning to the end, ensuring all of our needs were met. They made me feel very safe in a country so far away from home, but also encouraged further exploration of the country, providing free trip to Yangshou as well as helpful travel information via their website.

I had an incredible summer teaching in China thanks to Gotoco! I compared prices of similar companies and Gotoco offers the best experience for the cheapest price. This experience allowed me to visit parts of China I would never had previously considering going to with great people. Gotoco makes it very easy for western students to visit China and gain experience of teaching English; almost everything is organised for you and help is always at hand. Yangshuo, the countryside town where all participants are offered a five-day stay at the end of their programme, is a superb holiday destination. If you are looking for something interesting to do in your summer holiday Gotoco can definitely help you.

Gotoco provides a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was the best and most meaningful summer I've had so far! We got to meet so many local people that carried the true spirit of the Chinese culture. I think one of the best thing about this trip, apart from teaching such intelligent and remarkable students, were all of the amazing people we got to meet. Everyone was so welcoming that I immediately felt at home. Everybody was friendly, respectful, and took great care of us. The highlight though was seeing how happy the students were to come to class and to participate. It really made me feel like I have achieved something very valuable and that I have been successful in all of my efforts. Playing games, singing songs, and doing crafts all brought us all together and it felt like we were friends.

I would absolutely recommend Gotoco to everybody! I think this summer helped me grow, learn, and shaped me into the person I have always wanted to become.
