Not long enough, I loved Vietnam

This was my third Tru Travel tour. All have been very different but equally as good so I wasn’t expecting anything short of amazing. On the whole the activities were really fun, I loved the quad biking on the sand dunes, as did everyone else. We felt that it should be included in the tour as that was one of the main highlights for everyone I was with. Everyone should experience it once (even Darrin who kindly looked after everyone’s things while we had fun). Our two tour guides were Darrin and Edna, on the whole they were awesome and did everything to make sure we were having the best times of our lives and weren’t worrying about anything apart from being on holiday. Darrin is such a lovely guy, we could always hear him coming with his speaker which made the trip more enjoyable and memorable as we weee always dancing everywhere we went. He would give us fun facts everywhere we went and made the experience on the whole incredible, wish he had come to Halong bay with us as we missed his dad moves on the dance floor. Ednnnaaa mode was like our mum and made sure we were always well topped up with water and We’re fed. The only negative is that she was sometimes disappear for big gaps and go off reading on her own when we felt like she should be with us. So I felt that Darrin should have come to castaway instead as he would always make sure he was there playing cards or having a drink with us to insure we were having the best time, instead it felt like we were on our own the majority of the time there. The whole tour had so many highlights, lantern making, the bike ride around Hoi An, the duck stop ( this is amazing and hilarious), the Hai Van pass in Jeep’s where we all wore shit shirts and blasted music the whole way dancing for 6 hours straight. But my favourite part was Nihnvana, a secluded hostel with a pool and beach, lots of drinking games and chilling, what more could you want! I’m a massive foodie and Edna had fantastic restaurant selections for the whole tour, she knew the best spots for Bahn mi and even the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. The tour turned out to be more than i could have ever asked for I just wish it was a little longer and not so rushed. I honestly wouldn’t have had the time of my life if it wasn’t for the people I met and spent 17 days with so thank you for giving me this opportunity Tru Travel it was a blast!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I felt that the tour needed to be extended to at least 23 days as it felt very cramped and rushed at times, I would have loved to see more of Hue and spent more time in Hoi An as they looked like interesting and vibrant places but we were always on the move unfortunately. Sometimes it felt like we didn’t stop at all, I guess that’s the downside of doing a tour.

Wonderful trip in Vietnam

I had a wonderful time on this trip all thanks to our 10/10 tour-guide Edna! It was my first time on a group tour and she was an absolute angel - I can't thank her enough for everything she did for us on this trip. Not only is she a Vietnam 'fountain of knowledge' but she always came to our rescue at times of need....from emergency pharmacy visits, to taking on an almighty storm - just to bring us something to eat! - to emotional support and for just being herself - with a warm, GENUINE smile on her face at all times! My highlights of this trip were visiting beautiful Hoi-An, the crazy quad-biking and the quirky basket boats - I won't give too much away (but you are in for a surprise there!) Edna (I hope you see this) please keep being you! All of your London family miss you and hope to see you soon! Also, shout-out to Justin - thank you both for everything! xxxxxxx

Fun trip with perfect balance between partying and culture

Just finished the 17 day Vietnam Explorer tour. Really well organized with great accommodations. The big cities like HCMC and Hanoi were okay, Nhinvhana, Mui Ne and especially Halong Bay were absolutely amazing.

Activities such as cooking class and quad driving in the sand dunes were really fun and unique.
It is a bit of a far strechted country, so you spend a lot of time traveling although transportation is well organized and quite comfortable.

Pinky (our tourguide) made sure we got to know all the important parts about the Vietnamese culture, brought us to great restaurants and was a lot of fun overall!

If there is one thing that i'd change, i'd include a couple days in Sapa as i believe that is one of the must sees in Vietnam..

What would you improve about this program?
Maybe an extra day in Halong Bay as it's such a great place

TruTravels Vietnam 17day

Excellent trip! Pinky, our tour guide was amazing. She had excellent knowledge on the history of Vietnam and was fun.
I would definitely recommend this trip, great group and great activities.
Was very tiring tho, would recommend removing a stop. Maybe ninhvana. Was a hassle to get to, involved a full day of travel which left us very tired when we arrived to Hoi An.
Also airport pickup was very disorganized. After long travel, it was annoying waiting around for 1.5hrs for my driver. Wifi at the airport was also hard to find and I don’t think I would have been picked up unless I sent a message.
I also messaged trutravels staff before booking the trip and they said some things were included which actually were not (massages at Ninhvana).

What would you improve about this program?
Airport pickup was terrible. I also emailed about inclusions and trutravels was wrong about a couple.

Perfect way to experience Vietnam

This 17 day trip was unbelievable. From the accommodation to the meals and activities, there was no point at which I could say that the trip disappointed in any way. One reason for this was due to the excellence of our tour guide Pinky. Her knowledge of all the areas, as well as her playful and always positive nature was the icing on the cake. Her recommendations from activities to restaurants were always fantastic and helped showcase the beauty of Vietnam. The tour itself followed the path up from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi, stopping at cities on the way. This allowed for a perfect snapshot of the country itself and was just the right amount of time to experience it properly. I would definitely reccoment to any traveller wanting to get an idea of the country in a friendly and personal group environment.

What would you improve about this program?
Perhaps more time
In Hoi An would be amazing just because of the various things to do and the general beauty of the city

Vietnam with Pinky

This trip was incredible. Pinky the tour guide was so fun and knowledgable and always approachable. Pinky always went the extra mile and delivered an excellent tour from start to finish. All the activities were amazing. I loved the quad biking and zip lining and my favourite place was Hoi-An. There wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy. The food, people and activities all exceptional. I would throughly recommend this trip. One thing I would mention is an earlier check in at some of the hotels - twice we had to wait to get a room. It wasn’t too much of a problem but when you are tired would have been great to have a shower and somewhere to lie down after a long journey. Pinky is an absolute credit to your team and was so handy she could speak the language and help us travel around.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Halong Bay was incredible! The views, the island and the water was the best I’ve ever seen. I loved the accommodation and the activities and the staff were wonderful. It was great having pinky there as we felt safe and ‘well organised’. Pinky looked after us very well. It was such a lovely setting and really enjoyed it. Although I think they should get WiFi!!!!!

17 day Vietnam tour with Pinky

Pinky was our tour guide leader and she gave us the best experience we could of had. She was s knowledgeable of Vietnam, of every place we went! As well as being one of the kindest people I have ever met. If I needed anything she would do eveyrthing she could to make it happen. The tour was incredible it had such a wide spectrum of different things that we did. From drinking to then experiencing some culture and mad activities and as well. There wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy. I also made some friends for life on this tour people who were on the tour as well as me but as well Pinky. She honestly couldn’t of done a better job, I felt safe secure and happy. She had us all constantly laughing and she is a great addition to the company. Would fully recommend this tour to anyone

Excellent Smoothly run trip

Amazing trip taking in all of Vietnam made all the better did to our guide Pinkys local knowledge and recommendations additional to the itinerary in each place. Completely non-stop but everything ran smoothly and most importantly was great fun.
Wide range of activities to match the wide range of things available on Vietnam. This tour does follow the traditional tourist route up the country and so is not off the beaten track but this is also positive as it gives more opportunities for things to do.
Pinky was always professional and gave me particular insight into the country's culture and way of working including onward travel information after I decided to extend my Vietnamese trip because I loved the country so much.
Would love to go back to the country but would love to go with the trutravels group again even more.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Dried Fish on the street in Hue accompanied by spicy sauce and beer.
