Love the IVHQ program!

I had the most amazing experience with the IVHQ program. They made it so easy and they were so helpful. It was such a amazing experience and I would 100% book another trip through this program. The IVHQ team make sure as you’re 100% prepared before you takeoff and even when you’re at your destinations they still continue to reach out to make sure everything is going great. I never once felt alone, even though I am solo traveling. This will be an experience. I will never forget. I made so many friends and learned so much about the culture. I definitely would recommend.

Pros
  • Learned so much about the culture
  • Felt like I was making an impact
  • Enjoyed all the beauties of my trip

IVHQ Fiji

When I leave for volunteering I fear for some adversities but, as I'm an open mind, I always take positive expectations.
In Fiji everything has been overcome. I felt a great conection among the volunteers and we shared experiences, friendships and we went together on local tours. The staff was always attentive to our well-being and available to help. I felt as at home. At any moment I felt insecure.
My volunteering at Shepherds Kindergarten allowed me to participate and monitor the development and learning of children. I miss them! Innocent, sweet, affectionate children, attentive and available to learn and equally willing to play. I appreciated the teacher's empathy and simultaneously I felt a great empathy among everyone.
It was wonderful and I am grateful for more this experience.
Bula is a magical word for greetings in Fiji. I just felt how magic it was in Fiji. This word is enough to start a conversation with any inhabitant, and regard us as a good person. Thus, we can enter the Fijian culture and habits easily.
Vinaka/ thank you to the International Organization that promote for a better world and that allowed me to contribute to it on my own way.

Best Experience

The program was so well organised and so rewarding. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and the trip was so easy with travel and meals. Can't recommend it enough. The food was incredible and we were so well looked after. I went alone as a 17-year-old and felt right at home from the beginning. I met amazing people and found opportunities to visit nearby islands and beaches. The staff helped with absolutely everything, even just getting a taxi to town. The volunteering was so much and fun and so heartwarming.

Pros
  • Great food and cheap
  • Wonderful people
  • Lots to do outside of volunteering
Cons
  • Housing is very minimal
  • Fiji time means everything is late
  • Volunteer time is limited to just morning

Worth It

Great experience! I have absolutely no regrets volunteering with them. The organization did well helping and accommodating all the volunteers while I was there in the busy season. At times it was a little much during meal times because we all ate at the same house, but it was a good way to meet lots of people. Met some amazing people from all over the world, and had a great time! The kids were so cute and made it all worth it. Got to experience of an amazing culture. Would highly recommend, and it's affordable!

Pros
  • Beautiful country
  • Nice locals
Cons
  • Busy season - there were a lot of volunteers, meal time was a little challenging sometimes

Highly recommend booking your volunteer experience with IVHQ

Both my experience with IVHQ have been amazing. They help organise your volunteer placement and ensure everything is ran smoothly. They are quick to response to any enquiries or concerns and eager to help.

My most recent experience with IVHQ was volunteering in Fiji at the Green Lion which was such an incredible experience. Working with local kids and learning about the Fijian culture was a huge highlight.

The local team were friendly and welcoming which made us feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious which was an added bonus.

Pros
  • Learning local culture
  • Making an impact
  • Making friends

Amazing experience and opportunity

The highlight of the program was the amazing people I met in Fiji, from the local team and village people to the awesome volunteers I met along the way. I couldn’t be more grateful for this experience especially with IVHQ. The program was well organised and it felt like a home. I learnt so many things such as the Fijian culture and lifestyle, how to get around the island, about myself and how extremely happy and welcoming Fijians can be to other nationalities. Its beyond amazing. I would definitely come back to Fiji in a heartbeat and do another program through IVHQ, such an incredible opportunity and I will always cherish the memories I’ve made!

If you’re undecided about volunteering, I definitely recommend getting out of your comfort zone and giving it ago in Fiji as the Green-lion team are accommodating and will look after you like your own family!! 10/10 recommend

Pros
  • Culture
  • Green lion team and the local people
  • Construction and renovation program
Cons
  • Went to quick
  • Island is too big too see it all in two weeks :((

Life changing experience

Fiji with IVHQ & Green Lion was AMAZING.. Despite only being there for 9 days, I learnt so much and got to heavily experience the culture.. The Green Lion staff are so accommodating and the program is well planned..
For anyone thinking about going on a volunteer trip to Fiji, I highly recommend it.. You learn and experience so much of their culture, things you couldn’t experience staying in a resort. It also taught me a lot about myself.. I went solo and was super nervous, but was well looked after and was too distracted with awesome experiences to feel nervous.. I wish I stayed longer!

Pros
  • Meeting people
  • Green Lion staff
  • Kindergarten placement
Cons
  • Did not stay long enough

Questions & Answers

I did not travel with my family for this trip, but my oldest child is eleven and I would for sure want to take him on the next volunteer experience. However, I don; think I would take any of my kids younger than that. It also depends on where you go.
