About Program

The Community Driven Development Internship (CDD) is a one-month internship program in India for individuals who want to experience enriching and accredited learning dedicated to community development. Through its People Development Training Center, Bala Vikasa hosts Community Driven Development (CDD) training sessions four times a year: January, September, November, and July (2 weeks). Drawn from our own experiences and best practices in the field over the last 45 years, and designed to be positive, relevant and practical, the CDD program aims to create development leaders by imparting relevant conceptual methodologies and knowledge, enhancing hands-on skills and changing the attitudes of development professionals, bureaucrats and students, from around the world. Through a cohesive combination of theoretical modules and field visits to various Bala Vikasa projects, participants are exposed to learning anchored in ground realities.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
