About Program

Do you want to stay in a beautiful countryside resort for free while meeting talented youth & discovering the local culture? Welcome to Angloville.

As an English speaker, you will join our sponsored cultural exchange programme and stay in one of our beautiful venues in Poland for 1 to 3 weeks and help European language students practise English through a series of conversations, games, workshops, and fun-packed activities. You are not required to be a formal teacher but simply a partner for conversation while having a culturally immersive experience.

All programmes are conversation-based and consist of 1 on 1 and small group conversations, games and activities, no classroom teaching involved! Due to a busy multicultural environment, the programmes are an intensive intellectual experience as you may end up speaking with various people for the majority of the day in a laid back setting.
More than 8000 participants go through the programme each year and they love it!

Angloville Lipowy Most Poland 2019

One of the best weeks of my life, the opportunity to help Polish children build upon their English is something I wish I’d known about sooner. This was also a good opportunity to learn about a country’s culture firsthand and it was a privilege to have been able to take part, I cannot recommend this programme enough to students and travellers that want to try something completely new. This was also a really good opportunity to meet like-minded people from around the world and it provided a great chance to build your network and make some new life-long friends. The coordinators as well were friendly and always made sure that not only were you enjoying yourself but that you were feeling okay. Overall this was an amazing opportunity and I cannot recommend it enough.

Angloville Poland

I recently completed two back to back programs with Angloville in Poland. I loved every minute of my time there. The fellow English speakers and the Polish speakers were all great people with whom I shared many memorable conversations. The organisers worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The venues, accommodation and food were lovely.
It's a busy program, with little free time, but who needs free time when you have travelled so far to meet local Polish people. There was a variety of meaningful activities each day, from one to one conversation sessions to impromptu dance nights. Everybody seems sad to see the program end and most plan to return.
I hope to join Angloville for many more enjoyable programs in the future.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Just relax and enjoy the company of so many interesting people.

3 weeks Angloville Poland

This company ensures it gives a good experience to native speakers and participants alike. The accommodation and food is very good in all the hotels I stayed in (however some people I spoke to did have bad experiences). My hotels were Lipowy Most, Bardo and Chojnik and they are all 10/10 hotels in fantastic locations.

It is important to know that if you are doing more than 1 week, you have to find transport between your locations. For example you might arrive back in the city centre of Wroclaw at 7pm on Saturday, and have to be in Warsaw for 8am on Sunday. This might mean a night bus or train, or having to organise accommodation for the Friday night in whichever city you are staying in.

It is also worthy to note that 3 weeks in a row is very tiring, you get 1.5 hours off each day but other than that you are working 9am - 10pm with little time for rest. It is very sociable and you are encouraged to talk as much as possible, so it can quickly get tiring.
I would recommend taking at least a week break throughout your time, for example 2 weeks on, 1 off, 1 on. Or something like that just to give yourself a chance to explore and enjoy!

Now for all the good points!! The program is fun and an amazing way to meet new people and try new things as well as to learn about and experience a new country in a lesser visited country side. You get your TEFL certificate, free accommodation and free meals and honestly after Wednesdays work (day 3) the rest of the week flies by and you'll be finished faster than you can imagine. The last day is always nice and full of sad goodbyes, it is really warming to see the impact you have had on the kids.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Plan it well, look into the hotels and locations you are visiting and ensure it is easy to travel between them!
At the end of the week a lot of the native speakers gather and have a nice time in the pub in the main city, if you don't want to miss out on that then do a week on, week off, week on!

Adult sessions with Angloville

My neighbor had attended two Angloville sessions in Poland last year and raved about the experience. Based on her recommendation, I completed the requisite paperwork, was interviewed and signed up for four programs in Poland. The experiences I had meeting both a variety of Polish participants of all ages and from all walks of life, and native English speakers from all over the world was incredible. I attended the a city tour and luncheon prior to the first session which left from Warsaw. The tour was informative, the lunch was delicious, and it was nice to meet a few of the participants prior to the start of the session. At all four sessions, I was impressed with the Polish participants. They were all very dedicated, and had some pretty amazing professional backgrounds. While their written English skills were usually quite advanced, their goals were to improve their spoken English skills. I can honestly say that this happened in every case. The days were long - especially for the Polish participants, as they didn’t get free time except for what was scheduled. But it was great to see, and have them acknowledge, the progress they made from beginning to end. I feel like I made some good friends during my sessions with Angloville, and we will keep in touch, hopefully seeing each other in the future.

What would you improve about this program?
I would conduct the initial interviewing and scheduling with Angloville personnel, rather than being out-sourced. I would also recommend having a Point of Contact for NS attendees so questions could be addressed and answered in advance of arrival in Europe. In an ideal world, a single room would be wonderful, rather than having a roommate.

Angloville Poland (Gdansk)

I learnt lots here and it will no doubt be helpful to me in my future career with the skills I learnt. Met lots of fab people!! The kids were all abilities so we learnt how to communicate with all of them and play games!! It was also helpful to have coordinators and other mentors who had done the programme before to get tips. Great experience to say board and accommodation was paid for and the free tour. We also had a field trip on a boat on one of the days which gave us all lots of memories and it was very nice that the coordinators had brought their ukulele. We also had a bonfire which was nice! The biggest downside was the location but this was in comparison to some of the others as some of the other locations look amazing and this was slightly isolated with fewer facilities.

What was your funniest moment?
Spending time and playing games with other mentors

Not quite as advertised

Angloville advertises free stay at beautiful resorts. This is not quite true. I did several programs at resorts in different countries. The resorts are of average quality, the food is average banquet style, and after coffee at breakfast, Angloville does't provide any drinks except water for lunch and dinner. You must pay for anything else. The wifi at the resorts is usually poor. Of course, Angloville forces you to share a small twin room for a week with a total stranger who may or may not be compatible with you.
Angloville also advertises a city tour before the program. This is only about 2 hours with lunch after (but you must pay for our own drink again).
Finally, the level of organization of the program itself varies from poor to good, depending on the coordinator.
Best part is the students who are interesting and motivated.
I would not do it again nor recommend to others.

What would you improve about this program?
Single rooms for volunteers; provide drinks with lunch and dinner; better organization of programs; select better hotels

Response from Angloville

Hi Steve, thanks for your feedback. We hope you had fun teaching English and meeting local and fellow mentors with us: Angloville is the place where the world meets! We are sorry to read that our venues haven’t met your expectations. Our venues are 3* hotels, with comfortable shared rooms as clearly advertised on our website (https://angloville.com/the-angloville-venues/) and stated again during the phone interview we had with you. Hot drinks (tea, coffee) and water are available for free all day long. We don’t encourage alcoholic beverage consumption, that is true. As per the city tour, we organize it for free: it’s a two-hour walking tour followed by a lunch in local restaurant (https://angloville.com/free-tours/).
Can you send an email to info@angloville.com? We would like to discuss with you about how we can improve our venues, their services and our programmes in general.

review

The recruitment process was smooth, I was interviewed by a friendly lady who gave me an overview of what to expect. The training was very comprehensive and equipped teachers with all the necessary information on how to succeed during the program. However, I felt there could have been improvements in many areas. One of which is clear and precise communication particularly in regards to meeting times! I only became aware of the exact time I was to meet the Anglo team in Poland whilst completing my training only 2 weeks before. By then I had already booked my flight weeks before which meant that I missed the scheduled tour in Krakow. There also needs to be improvements in the level of care given to teachers. There needs to be more proactivity in ensuring the overall well being of teachers prior to and during the program. Questions should be answered more promptly and with greater detail. The staff needs to be more willing to assist teachers when further assistance is required. The customer service team should work on delivering a bespoke experience for each an every teacher.

What would you improve about this program?
Communication was not clear. The recruiter did not provide precise timings during my interview of when to meet the group on the day of arrival. This resulted in a lot of confusion, I also felt that the overall team could have improved with assisting teachers (like myself) who may have needed assistance or extra help. I didn't feel that Angloville met that need overall.

Angloville in Poland

The opportunity to meet and work with Polish citizens in a non-tourist, real-life situation was an absolute winner. Too often as international travelers, we are channeled to various sites and routes but with only very limited interaction with the local people, culture and language. This is particularly pertinent in Poland where the language itself is so difficult.
However with Angloville, to have the opportunity to meet and speak with fifteen local Polish people in a free-flowing atmosphere is very special. The sessions were mainly one to one, but rather than being intimidating, they were well organised, and had sufficient interesting topics and flexibility so that everyone could be gainfully involved. More importantly, the interactions were mutually beneficial, as I learnt as much as any of the Polish participants. A very worthwhile experience, and one I hope to repeat.

What would you improve about this program?
The programme is very well organised and there is always plenty of communication with Angloville. The tasks are interesting and well designed. So, not really any improvements to suggest.

Questions & Answers

Probably. I attended one session where one of the “Native Speakers” was not really a native speaker, but did have excellent English skills. You will have to check with Angloville.
