About Program
Volunteering Solutions offers affordable, ethical volunteer programmes in Sri Lanka — from around US$500 per week, with accommodation, meals and 24/7 in-country support included. As a certified B Corporation, we run community-led projects chosen with local partners, and every placement is backed by local, on-ground coordinators.
Programmes include sea-turtle and marine conservation, kindergarten and teaching support, women’s empowerment, dog-care and animal welfare, and family-friendly volunteer adventures, plus a 2-week ‘special’ programme. Volunteers experience Sri Lankan culture and can explore the island’s beaches, tea country and wildlife in their free time. Transparent, all-in pricing means no surprise fees — you’ll know exactly what your programme covers before you book.

The Medical Internship Program caters to interns who are currently enrolled in, or have recently completed, a medical degree from a recognized university in their home country. A prior background and/or experience in the medical field is mandatory to participate in this internship.
The main focus of this project is to protect the turtle eggs as well as the baby turtles, and subsequently increase their population. This includes preserving the eggs from predators and poachers, providing a safe haven for hatchings to occur, caring for the baby, sick and injured turtles, feeding them daily and releasing the healthy ones into the ocean when ready.
The project is ideal for participants who have an interest in discovering the medical field to see if they would like to pursue it as a potential career in the future. Participants can expect to gain a broad-based understanding of how these sectors work through a range of observation-based practical learning experiences across various wards and units in a hospital and/or clinic setting, as well as through a range of community projects.
The goal of this project is to provide support, attention, and care to very young underprivileged children (aged 3-6 years) in southern Sri Lanka, so they have the opportunity to develop their social, mental, emotional, language, reading and writing skills that will prepare them for a brighter future ahead.
