About Program

Community Angels Initiative stands out as a unique volunteering organization because of its holistic approach, diverse impact areas, and community-driven model. Unlike many organizations that specialize in a single area, Community Angels Initiative tackles several interconnected issues, including Child Care, Medical support, Education, Orphanage assistance, and Environmental Conservation programs.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Community Angels: The Role of Volunteer Health Workers in Strengthening Community Health Systems

Community Angels at the Frontline: A Brief Review of Volunteer Health Workers

Volunteer health workers, often seen as “community angels,” are essential to healthcare delivery in underserved areas. They provide basic health services, education, and referrals, often serving as the link between communities and formal health systems. Their roles improve maternal and child health, increase immunization coverage, and enhance disease prevention efforts.

Despite their impact, they face major challenges, including lack of formal recognition, limited training, and scarce resources. Many work without pay, driven by passion and community commitment.

To support these vital actors, governments and organizations should invest in their training, provide incentives, and formally integrate them into health systems. Recognizing and empowering volunteer health workers is key to achieving stronger, more inclusive community health.

Perfect Love Conquers all fear

Due to financial turmoil in this part, both children and parents live in fear everyday: failure to afford basic necessities such as, food, water, shelter and education is really a threat no one wants to experience. Eruption of epidemic diseases such as Malaria have put the people at maximum risk especially the children. Furthermore, the process of giving birth has still been difficult for both the mothers and doctors due to lack of facilities.

The Cooperation has shown love doing it's best to provide education, health care , food donations and also investing back to the environment. We are with immense joy for the love and support. The residents are now bold to keep solving the rest of the challenges coming up. Truly, " Perfect Love Conquers all fear"

Great programme!

Where do I start?
From the initial enquiry, I was given so much information and advice so that I could choose the most appropriate programme for myself. I chose to sign up to the teaching programme, I was also given so much advice on other excursions I could do alongside this experience which was a bonus.

Being able to share my experience in teaching and embedding my practices to further support the children really gave me a sense of purpose - one that I will never forget!

A special shout out to Eliezer for ensuring everything went smoothly from day one and always checking in with me to make sure I felt comfortable and communication was of great standard.

An experience of a lifetime!!

Community Angels initiative is an amazing organization that focuses a lot on the community. No better feeling than being able to help the community and feel rewarded after. The company deals with many different programmes, such as orphanages and schools. From the first step of booking till the end, it is very ran very well and was organised. Angel and Yakin are both extremely hard-working working and you can tell the extreme efforts they have put into this. Angel is amazing and is honestly like a mother figure. I love how community-focused this organisation is. You really feel part of the community and involved. A small hand with anything goes a long way and definitely does not go unnoticed. Could not recommend this organisation enough. It is an extremely eye-opening experience, and I cannot wait to be back very soon. Do not hesitate to book!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Especially as a solo traveller, just be open minded. It will take time to get used to the cultural change and their daily routines but the support Angel and Yakin give is amazing. Make sure to just be yourself and start small conversations with the other volunteers, everyone is there for the same reason
Pros
  • Makes you appreciate the little things around you
  • You know you have a left a great impact on the community and helped where possible
  • Forming long life friends and strong bonds
Cons
  • Not being to come back as often :(
  • It is an emotional journey especially when having to say goodbye to everyone
  • Remenising about this experience everyday and just wanting to be back!!!:(

A chance to make a difference

An unforgettable experience. In a world where you feel like humanity is forgotten, it is so humbling to be able to serve others and help in any way possible.

Community Angels are the ultimate representation of its name, providing compassion, empathy and love in places and for people who need that extra support in their lives. Community angels stood out to me the most, as I resonated with their morals, values, intentions and mission!

Even though we maybe from afar, we all share the same goal and it’s such a beautiful opportunity to become part of a family with Community Angels and make a change.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
The length of time… the way this programme has changed my perspective on life is pivotal and I wish I booked for longer.
Pros
  • The community
  • Organisation
  • The passion to make a difference
Cons
  • Not being able to stay longer
  • Leaving after building a bond with everyone
  • Feeling like there is more I need to do and not being able to fulfil this.

Amazing expérience

My experience in Tanzania as a volunteer in childcare at a school was incredibly rewarding. For a month, I had the opportunity to support children in their daily lives, contribute to their learning, and share unforgettable moments with them. Their joy for life and eagerness to learn were truly inspiring. The warm welcome from the community and the country’s rich culture left a lasting impression on me.
This journey allowed me to grow personally and develop new skills while helping these energetic and hopeful children. Every day was a new adventure, filled with laughter, discoveries, and meaningful exchanges. This immersion gave me a fresh perspective on education and the importance of sharing. Tanzania will remain an unforgettable experience for me, both personally enriching and formative.

What was your funniest moment?
I thinks for me my funniest moment was being with the children in school, there were so funny that was amazing!
