At INTRO our commitment to a sustainable future is a key principle, and the driving force behind our Small Change initiative, which we launched in 2017.

As part of our goal to make a real positive impact to the environment, we partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects in 2019 to plant 10 trees for every booking we received. And as a result we’ve planted tens of thousands of trees, aided reforestation, rehabilitated wildlife and reduced poverty in multiple local communities.

However we wanted to go even further and achieve true sustainability, so in late 2023 we began a new partnership with Path Net Zero to accurately measure our tours emissions, and Veritree to plant trees to offset those emissions.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Bali Intro tour, we were able to see so much in such a small amount of time with the perfect balance of culture and party/free time! There were so many options for additional activities so that you had plenty of ideas for free time in each location. The tour is really well organised so that it’s stress free for everyone! I would definitely recommend this tour! A special mention must go out to our tourguide, Andri, who was so helpful, friendly and attentive, and undoubtedly made the tour 10 times more fun!

I had an amazing time on the Bali Intro 12 day tour. It was a great way to see lots around Bali and the itinerary used time well to squeeze as many activities in as possible. As a solo traveller I was nervous about joining a large group but it was the best thing - there was always someone up for doing something. Our tour leader, Andrii was amazing - he was knowledgeable about all the activities and locations, he communicated clearly the plans throughout and he joined in with everything. I will definitely be doing another of the Intro Tours as they are an amazing way to see and experience new countries and cultures.

I have nothing to say that could make this trip better. It was a perfect variation of culture, sea fun, food, meeting new people, relaxing and so much more. Also our “tour guide” was amazing and made this trip amazing. My favorite part was probably Gili, because I love the island life and snorkeling. The party life over there was also so much fun. We did a pub crawl and it was so hilarious. Definitely a night to remember. Also the surfing was amazing and the instructors were really really good! Highly recommend!!

We had the most amazing time in Bali, our tour guide Hendri was excellent he was so knowledgeable about everywhere we went and also had the best restaurant recommendations, he was so outgoing and made our trip even better. Hendri was more than helpful with planning any extra activities we wanted to do after the tour finished. Our trip to Bali was amazing and wouldn’t have wanted another tour guide.

We did the 12 day Bali intro tour with our amazing guide Hendri. He gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and bars during our trip and even helped us with our travel after our tour. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the adventures we had. With a range of different experiences included within the trip we got to go snorkelling, bike riding, seeing wild dolphins and monkeys and much more. It made it worth the journey and we got to do experiences we wouldn’t have done if we were travelling alone.

The 12 day Bali intro was incredible and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, turtles, monkeys and some very beautiful fish/corals around Bali which was definitely a tick on the bucket list moment. Our tour guide, Hendri was amazing and was so helpful and knowledgeable, as well as being a great friend. I would/will recommend this tour for as long as I can. It was truly amazing! Also to mention - Bali is a beautiful place and I will definitely return.

I did the 12 day Bali Intro with Hendri and it was the most amazing experience I’ll never forget! We experienced so much in 12 days including surfing, snorkelling with turtles, monkey forest, boat trips, nights out and chilled days as well as meeting great people and had everything sorted for us so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Thanks to Hendri and his dance moves and dad jokes , we had so much fun and he made us feel so comfortable. Highly recommend as I’d love to do it all over again.

A really fun 12 days. Lots of good balance between activities and free time with good recommendations on how to best use your free time. Hendri was excellent and took all the stress away of booking things and organising our trip while being excellent fun to be around.
I would definitely recommend the intro 12 day bali to get a taste of the island life!
Would recommend to go with groups of friends, solo travellers or anyone who wants to visit Bali. I will definitely use intro again for future trips

Why did you choose this program?

Ever since visiting Thailand in 2020 (right before the lockdown), I became fascinated with what Southeast Asia has to offer. The traditions, amazing views, and the warmth of the people are things I always remember fondly, so it was just a matter of time until I returned. The opportunity came quickly: two friends and I were coming back from a ski trip one late evening when the topic of this year’s vacation came up, and in just one minute, we collectively decided on Bali.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The tour included accommodations: a hotel in Canggu, a private villa in Lovina, twin rooms in Gili Trawangan and Ubud, transport mainly by van between locations and boat rides, and some meals, primarily breakfast. I only needed to purchase the flight and set aside some pocket money for snacks, drinks, and extra activities.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

Don’t hold back! Take it all in and go all out. Strike up conversations with your fellow travelers, enjoy karaoke in the van while on the road, and share your funniest stories. Savor the local food, dance when your favorite song comes on, or better yet, sing it! Explore during your free time: for example, I ran from the hotel in Canggu to Tanah Lot Temple, which we visited the next day, and did two laps around the island while in Gili Trawangan.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

A typical day starts with breakfast, which may or may not include hangover from last night’s party. The group leader arrives, does a quick headcount, and announces our scheduled activity for the day. During this time, the group is mostly quiet, with only small talk present. After the first activity, the group’s energy rises during lunch, where jokes can be heard all around. The second activity brings joy to everyone, as each person gives their best to have fun or excel. By dinner, spirits are high— and not just the ones in the glasses—and reflections on the day’s funniest moments are shared aloud for all to enjoy.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

For me personally, I have a fear of deep water and I'm not a strong swimmer, so surfing and snorkeling felt like challenges I had to overcome. Surprisingly, surfing went much better than I expected; I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want to take a break. Snorkeling was another pleasant surprise. Last year, I couldn’t stay in the water for long, but this time I completed the whole activity thanks to my friends, who made sure I was okay—checking that my mask was properly fitted and keeping an eye on me. I’m truly grateful for their support.

What is your favorite travel memory?

This is a hard question as there are so many different ones. I have to go with the trip I had last year to Cambodia.

I was only going as a bit of an add onto had no expectations of it. By the end of my trip, I fell in love with the place. The culture, the history, and the beaches...it was just an amazing place and I can not wait to return again in the future.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have only been working for the company a short time but in that time I have learnt a great deal.

I have learnt so much about Australia and many other countries which I didn't know before so my knowledge has increased massively. I have become a lot more confident in public speaking and talking about travel opportunities with people.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I have not yet had a story told to me yet as they are all still out and traveling. However, I know from before they left after the group that they were super excited to be traveling with the new people they had just met, as well as making new friends along the way. People always go off and have amazing experiences and I can't wait to hear all the wonderful things everyone has been up to.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would choose Japan. I have been on many of the INTRO tours and when Japan came out, I wasn't too fussed on it. I have no idea why, because since learning about the country and the things it has to offer, I am itching to go. There is so much culture which would be amazing to see, and who doesn't want to learn to use a samurai sword?

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

The company is just so unique in itself. I mean, what company has weekly ping pong competitions? It's a super chill place to work, which is what I like about it too.

I am always proud of the group of people I work with. Everyone works really hard and it really does show. Every day everyone is learning and that makes everyone proud - when people are learning and picking up new skills and just generally bettering themselves.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Honestly, the biggest factor is being happy and enjoying work. If everyone is passionate about the company, then that is the key for it to be successful. If you weren't happy within the company, it will bring others down and that isn't going to help in any way.

Passion is the biggest factor; if you're passionate, you will naturally work harder, which leads to more success.
