Silk Mandarin is an excellent resource for learning Mandarin Chinese. I am at about HSK2 level, and had a lot of mandarin vocabulary, grammar, word order, and phrases swimming around in my head from a lot of self-study. Their "Slow Motion Technique" really helped me to order my existing information and knowledge into something that was logical and understandable, so I could untangle complex grammar to allow me to actually speak in real Mandarin sentences and understand real Mandarin conversations. Combined with an excellent teacher (Christina), I have found it to be practical approach to Mandarin learning, and I would highly recommend it.

I had lessons with Silk Mandarin in 2020 when I lived in Suzhou, and I actually started again but online in 2025 after not finding any providers that were as good when I moved to a new city. The teachers are amazing and they really personalize the learning experience. The lessons are very well prepared with lots of resources. I’d say the lessons are actually excellent value for money- I think I’m making very rapid progress in my Chinese learning because of laoshi Sisi and the lesson materials and homework provided. The lessons are really enjoyable. I will stay with Silk Mandarin as I continue my Chinese language learning journey.

At first, I was trying to find a Chinese course to start and just learn a little bit of it and see If I am interested in doing it for a long time, then I found Silk Mandarin and everything has gone smoothly since the beginning. I have teacher Christina and she has been so patient and helpful during this process, teaching me in different ways about grammar, vocabulary and also teaching me about the realistic things I would encounter in a normal conversation in China. It made me fall in love with the language and want to continue learning more and more, I will definitely continue with them and will recommend to anyone who is thinking on starting. There is a lot of practice, resources and guidance so you won't feel lost and it will actually make it feel easier.

I've been struggling for a while to study Chinese - never really found anything that worked for me. I found Silk Mandarin beginning of this year and I have only been studying a month or so, but I feel excited to study now! My pronunciation and my tones were very poor, but my teacher has been so patient and she has the most interesting ways to explain, which make it easy to understand. I highly recommend this language program. I work full time and lead a busy schedule. but their online platform is very convenient. I just happen to be the only one in class so it's a bonus that I get one on one teaching. The program is very flexible and meets my needs greatly. It is value for its money. I just completed HSK 2 and I'm onto HSK 3. The online videos of one instructor I can do without, but I like the format of the new vocabulary, grammar and listening modules. My instructor is very professional, knowleagable and understands my learning needs and strenghts. Class in online platform is very easy to use. I have it on my phone, ipad and computer so I can study anytime and anywhere.

The atmosphere during our Chinese classes with Christina always was warm and pleasant. She is professional and caring teacher, absolutely recommend the school .
