"This internship has solidified my plan to work in the field of psychology. It felt really empowering being able to apply my knowledge from college into real time psychological practices. During my internship I worked with children of all ages. I was there to try and keep the children entertained and happy, engaging them in discussions, board games and good behaviour. My role really benefited the organization by allowing members of staff additional support in managing their workload and not spreading themselves too thin. On a broad scale being able to speak Spanish is going to be a massive help in my future career. More importantly, learning how to work with children and young teens is incredibly beneficial. My favorite memory from the program was the first time I saw the kids I would be working with actually start to understand and listen to what I was saying while working together. When they started to listen and pay attention, it felt like I had really achieved something"

Living accommodations and food were not great, but the location and the people were amazing. There is no air-con and the bathrooms are quite disgusting. A lot of the time for food you eat mostly bread for every meal of the day. Go into it with a project already in mind, if you do not go in with a project in mind you will spend a lot of time and many days thinking of one and/or sitting around. Always say yes to everything, you will regret not doing things when at the internship, air adds to the entire experience and makes it that much more memorable.

Becoming an intern abroad entails acquiring practical, hands-on experience at a foreign business or organization while participating in all the thrilling adventures. Thanks to Intern Abroad HQ, my experience in Cape Town, South Africa, has been immersed in the local culture filled with adventures from delicious wine tasting in Cape Town's finest vineyards, catching the sunset on a catamaran as well as going on vigorous walks alongside the coast and seeing penguins. Further, I have been immersed in the local culture by visiting local markets and tasting Cape Town's most exotic food, such as Ostrich!

In this work-hard, play-hard culture, I interned at a human rights NGO names Africa Unite whose goal is to build communities that are conflict free, enhance social cohesion and promote social and economic development. During this internship, I have been allowed to touch on all of these disciplines drafting government letters, public speaking, organizing events for 50+ people, and openly speaking about change regarding human rights, women's rights and children's. Further, I have learnt how to carefully analyze a societal problem and find the most sustainable solutions that help every community member. I have always been keen on making a change for the better, and thanks to Intern Abroad, it has been the perfect channel to do so outside of my studies!

It's literally so cool here, I love how walk/bus-able everything is, the food is amazing, the other interns here are so cool, and the location in general is just so gorgeous, I love it here! The only reason it's not a 5 is I got stuck with some kind of sucky roommates, but all of the other housemate are amazing and I love them so much ! The diving here has been really fun, but since it's the rainy season the water visibility has been kinda bleh, but it's still super cool. There's lots of stuff to do around here whether you wanna do stuff in town, or bus over to Manuel Antonio real fast, everything is quite close and easily accessible.

We had a group of 23 students that went together on a 2 week internship experience in Greece where we worked on a few different projects in the country which was exciting. We also had plenty of time to see the beautiful historical aspects of the area and even go on a short cruise. We had some changes throughout our planning process that were handled wonderfully by the staff at InternHQ. Once we were in Greece the team at Cerca Abroad took over our experience and it was amazing. InternHQ does a great job choosing the in-country companies that they work with.

Really supportive internship site--constantly fast with replies and emails. The internship was amazing! I feel more empowered as I can now say that I have real experience to go off from in my field. Because I was given lots of freedom and independence on how I wanted to approach my projects this allowed me to delve into my creativity, critical thinking skills, while also time managing. Not only that, but I gained a wide network of peers and mentors if I ever need to communicate with. Some of my learning points included the opportunity to apply the theoretical concepts learned in academic settings to real-world business scenarios, and to acquire industry-specific skills and knowledge that are relevant to my business major.

My #1 favorite memory from the internship was my second meeting with my supervisor. During this meeting, they told me their experience as a Arab-Palestinian Israeli citizen. The story was raw, sometimes tragic, sometimes triumphant, always inspiring. Overall, it served to bond the two of us early-on, which boosted our success and compatibility down the road. My internship role was to perform extensive research on a recent election and write a report on the reactions to it. This included assessing media and press from across the world, across every demographic and to the most extreme points of the political spectrum and everywhere in between. The written report I formulated informs the organization for which I work on global thoughts on the election that recently rocked their country. This internship has aligned in every way with my long-term goals. Not only does participation in an internship boost my chances of entering university (one part of my goals), but it also makes me all the better suited to my dream field of study: international relations. As a human rights and anti-racism internship, the global perspective, research skills, compassion, and critical thinking skills that accompany this project is ideal preparation for not only an academic, but professional career in the field. Working with an issue as complicated as the one featured in my internship (the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) is excellent training in listening to multiple sides of a story, a critical skill in any diplomatic position, which I aspire to one day hold. Moreover, the type/form/style of written report required in this internship is one I will certainly have to perform frequently in my long-term goals, and is therefore a great source of practice.

The remote internship was a wonderful experience because I was able to explore a particular area of my studies which I am very interested in, in an exciting context! I loved working with the team and was very well supported by the staff. I found communicating with the team very easy, despite the remote nature of the internship. I look forward to continuing my work with the AIMC this year and potentially in future years to come. I would recommend this internship to anyone with a passion for conservation or law.

My Environmental Conservation internship in Costa Rica has been inspiring and exciting. I was surprised by everyone's kindness and all the attention that I received from my host family. My host mother was a great cook, so I enjoyed every meal in the house! During my internship, my main job was to collect butterfly eggs and store them in a laboratory, then release larvae on specific plant leaves. This meant educating myself about various types of plants and butterflies to collect and match them back to the correct plant. I had to ensure all the butterflies had enough fermented food and that their sanctuaries were clear of spiders and snails. I also helped with the plantation of medical plants and orchid identification. This internship allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of my field of interest. Most of the skills I gained relate to maintaining a conservation area and studying different flowers and medicinal plants. I believe that these activities can be used in the fields of environmental conservation or science for me in future! My favourite internship memory was my decision to do the internship. Every day was priceless and unique.

My internship experience has been great! I felt comfortable talking to my supervisor and my team and I communicated well despite the language barrier between us. I was very impressed with the level of commitment from my supervisor and internship placement. Upon receiving my very first task, I could see that they were well-prepared and organized, and were ready to answer any of my questions and concerns. The most important task I was involved in was report writing, and other skills that I learnt along the way included communicating with clients. My internship experience went a long way in developing my time management and communication skills. All these skills work in both the short term and the long term, as the long-term goal of the organization I was paired with was to build multicultural relationships and gain expertise from other countries, so I helped in expanding the knowledge and expertise of the company in this regard. I am currently training to be a consultant in the field of occupational safety and health, and now I am qualified in terms of my degree, and my practical experience from this placement.
