Great all round experience

Very comprehensive course, however, some of the material is rather technical. I loved the very comprehensive feedback on all the assignments. Very responsive student and admin support teams. Highly recommend this course especially if you don't have a teaching degree. It's practical, hands-on material enables you to hit the ground running in your teaching career! Challenged my brain to think outside the box at times, big challenge at my age. Excellent experience overall! Highly recommended, be prepared to work hard.

What was your funniest moment?
I sent student support an enquiry about one of the assignments. As I hit send I realised the answer was staring at me in my face! Needless to say, I was red-faced when the tutor responded! It was just a senior moment! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Pros
  • Comprehensive course material - helps build a solid foundation for teaching.
  • Flexible - online learning helps to juggle other responsibilities
  • Excellent Support: tutors are responsive and highly knowledgeable. Detailed feedback on assignments, which really helps in developing your skills.
Cons
  • Workload - was feel overwhelming at times, if you're not used to a lot of self-study or if you're juggling other responsibilities.
  • No interaction with peers - lack of in-person interaction may not be ideal for those who thrive in human contact environment.
  • Cost to apply for an extension, quite high.

TEFL Online Review for Assistance

I had a lack of confidence at first when starting my TEFL at the TEFL Academy.

They usually say online you would have support but the institution fails to do so however I can't say the same with the TEFL Academy. Their level of standard is high and they are always willing to make your journey easy as a student.

The amount of feedback you get as a student supports you by correcting any errors. If I don't know anything I have just been taught feel free to message your tutor they are the best and will help you with any question.

What was your funniest moment?
When I submitted assigment c but missed out on a document she kindly reminded me and I had a great laugh about it because of the well constructed feedback she gave me and I did not fail the assignment.
Pros
  • Establish Better Vocab
  • Establish Confidence
  • Engaging with people around the world

TEFL Online Review

Enrolling in a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course is a significant step for anyone looking to teach English abroad or online. With numerous options available, selecting the right course is crucial for acquiring the necessary skills and certification to become an effective English teacher. Having recently completed a TEFL course, I am pleased to share my detailed review of the experience, highlighting its strengths and areas for improvement.

The TEFL course I undertook was well-structured, covering a broad range of topics essential for teaching English to non-native speakers. It included modules on lesson planning, classroom management, grammar, phonetics, and teaching methodologies. The theoretical content was complemented by practical assignments, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

One of the standout aspects of the course was its focus on teaching different age groups, from young learners to adults. The course provided insights into tailoring lessons to suit diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of interactive teaching techniques, such as role-playing, group discussions, and games, which can significantly enhance student engagement.

The course was delivered online, making it accessible to learners worldwide. The platform was user-friendly, allowing easy navigation through lessons, quizzes, and assignments. Video lectures and reading materials were available for download, enabling students to study at their own pace. The flexibility of the course made it ideal for individuals balancing other commitments, such as work or studies.

However, while the self-paced nature of the course was advantageous, it also required a high level of self-discipline. Some learners may benefit from a more structured schedule with set deadlines to maintain consistent progress.

Upon completion, I received an internationally recognized TEFL certificate, which is a crucial credential for securing teaching positions. The course also included job placement assistance, offering resources on resume building, interview preparation, and connections to potential employers. This feature was particularly beneficial for individuals new to the teaching industry.

Overall, the TEFL course provided a comprehensive and well-structured learning experience. Its strengths included thorough course content, flexible learning options, and strong tutor support. While there is room for improvement in response times and structured schedules, the course effectively equips aspiring English teachers with the necessary skills and certification to start their careers. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in teaching English as a foreign language.

Level 5 TEFLacademy Qualification

I decided to take this course as I am pursuing a career in primary school teaching languages and arts, I thought it would be a good idea to do a TEFL course as I hear about it quite often from others and I was looking for a way to expand my own skills and qualifications.

I had started a new job and when starting this course I thought to myself “How am I going to finish this in 6 months!?”, but shortly after I realized that the structure and nature of the course made it very easy to work and study at the same time. I had a very good experience with this course as it was easy to navigate and when I came across any problems, the support team was very quick to help and even gave me a 3-week extension when a tutor forgot to submit my results for an assignment. With a free top-up course when initially enrolling! Very impressive.

I really appreciated their YouTube support resources and their weekly seminars, making one look forward to their TEFL career knowing that there are always helpful resources you can come back to.

Their job board is expansive, ensuring everyone has an opportunity in the industry, and giving the student a sense of security and direction.
Overall, I would recommend this course to friends and family looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I got a fright when I submitted my first assignment and it took 3 weeks for me to get my results, and once contacting the TEFL academy, a very nice lady helped me almost immediately and apologised as the tutor had marked my assignment but forgot to release the results, I thought this was a funny accident and didn’t make a big fuss about it, but then they gave me a 3 week extension for the course due to the inconvenience. I was very impressed!
Pros
  • Easy to navigate
  • On-the-go access
  • You can leave the assignments for another day when you’ve got more time
Cons
  • 6 months feels very short for 10 modules
  • No WiFi means you can access your modules
  • I honestly can’t think of more cons

TEFL EXPERIENCE

The experience was amazing, and I gained a lot of knowledge, and I have recommended TEFL to a few people as well.

I would just have liked to get more help with job searching

Taking a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course is an excellent opportunity for those who want to teach English abroad or online. I recently completed a Level 5 TEFL course, and I can confidently say that it was an enriching and well-structured program

The TEFL course I completed was a 168-hour Level 5 qualification, which is Ofqual-regulated and internationally recognized. The course was divided into multiple modules, covering essential topics such as lesson planning, classroom management, teaching grammar, pronunciation, and the four key language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

One of the highlights of the course was the lesson planning and material development module. This section helped me understand how to create engaging and structured lessons for students at different proficiency levels (A1-C2). I particularly enjoyed learning how to adapt teaching materials for both in-person and online classes, ensuring that lessons remain interactive and effective.

One of the advantages of this TEFL course was its self-paced structure, allowing me to study at my convenience. The platform was user-friendly, and the content was engaging, with a mix of text, videos, quizzes, and interactive exercises to reinforce learning.

For those who may need extra support, tutor assistance was available, providing guidance and answering questions throughout the course. The feedback on assignments was constructive and helped improve my understanding of key concepts.

Overall, my experience with the TEFL course was highly positive. The content was comprehensive, the flexibility suited my schedule, and the certification has opened many doors for teaching opportunities. Whether you’re looking to teach English abroad, online, or gain valuable skills for a career in education, this TEFL course is a fantastic choice. I highly recommend it to anyone passionate about teaching and language learning!

TEFL Academy

Although I completed the level 5 program online from the comfort of my swivel chair, it was quite a journey into the land of foreign language teaching. I feel totally equipped with all the knowledge and materials to start teaching online or while globetrotting... Of course, only after finishing the top-up courses, that is.

Both student support and tutor support with engaging course materials, helpful links, and weekly webinars were there to give all the support necessary to succeed. I can hardly wait to join the alumni community to embark on the next phase of the TEFL experience with the TEFL Academy. :)

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
While doing the programme I got a temporary position as a teacher so I had to take a longer break. The time available was still enough to complete the programme!
Pros
  • Flexible online programme.
  • Plenty of time to finish the course
  • Lots of information about job opportunities
Cons
  • Seriously, I can't think of any

Highly recommend

I completed the Level 5 combined course and managed to complete the online portion in under a month as I had enough time to dedicate towards it. I'm extremely happy with the course content and it's quality. The assessments were challenging but not too difficult and the tutor feedback was always quick and provided useful advice I could put into practice. The in-person classroom portion was delivered by a gentleman named Ian who I can't thank enough for making the class engaging and much to learn from. I'm very happy to The TEFL Academy and will seek job assistance when I have graduated.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Delivering a lesson in front of the class was a little daunting but it was easy to overcome the nerves through the support off my peers and the instructor. I had to take advantage of the opportunity so I could really get a feel of what delivering lessons in actual practice would be like
Pros
  • Informative
  • Engaging
  • Meeting like-minded individuals
Cons
  • Long day

Great Experience

I was hesitant to enroll because I've been out of school for so long and was worried about the tests and assignments but all those fears were quickly put to rest when I first logged in. The material is set up in a very concise way and it so easy to navigate. While there is alot of matieral covered it's broken into very manageable chunks. There are also loads of resources for extra learning on the topics presented in case you need additional support. I think the part that I appreciated the most was the feedback in assignments. It really helped me know where my weak points where and gave suggestions to improve. Overall, very impressed and glad I enrolled.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Definitely take notes. There's alot of information and it's all very useful. I would recommend digital notes as I did mine in paper and now have to transfer them for future reference.
Pros
  • Solid foundation
  • Extra resources
  • Helpful assignment feedback
Cons
  • Some matieral is complex and could be it's own course
  • The phonetics section is taught based of UK pronunciation so was a bit confusing as an American
  • One of the videos didn't play in the course but I was able to find it inline
